Ongoing Eagles New Discussion volume 2

Who was the best team in 2024? Many I think would say Eagles. Champions accomplishing it backing that up. Only one other team in the discussion. Lions really can make a strong case. Top team before the season. Top team the entire season. First seed. NFC Championship would have been in their stadium. Not saying we’d have lost…but am saying they were the only team could have stopped us. No intention of taking anything away from our special season. But if you could have chosen one piece of luck our team received last season? Commanders knocking off Detroit probably number one.

Is there any version where you would respond shutting down insanity? Opinion was Saturn has never been seen by FL. I say it has been seen. Which statement is most sane?

Sanity never entered the discussion

Carter sacking Stafford was much higher than commies bearing Lions.

If you gave me last playoff seeding but team is 100 percent healthy? I’d take that right now all day. Which last season the whole time my largest worry of opponent in our way was the Lions in Detroit. Lions were my pick to win it all last year. Think they were majority pick…at least top two. We dodged that largest bullet challenge. That was the toughest situation 2024 presented us with to face. Only a totally biased opinion could believe there would be no doubt if that hadn’t occurred. Expected top team….heck for longer than just starting last season. They won and earned top seed and home field advantage. All credit to Chiefs season and all but Lions in Detroit was the largest challenge to face last season.

TLDNR

Think we’d have one. But they were only ones even could have stopped us…Rams had a shot…couple things go their way…yeah Rams could have. Lions all their success and praise around their HC I am more and more convinced are flawed. What Campbell and Johnson did for Detroit transforming their culture was huge. But taking a bad franchise and making them good to great …isnt the same as can be champions. They aren’t. Campbell all credit for what he’s done in Detroit. But…missing that key champion ingredient. Goff missing that champion ingredient. Maybe Detroit low on champion environment city. To win it all and be champion is all whole separate equation than transforming crap to top regular season team. Comes back to a posters statement here of each game is equal. Most regular season wins and top seed. Zero playoff wins. Brings up another poster statement about ‘clutch.’ Would anybody but those two posters not trade regular season wins for postseason wins for Detroit? Clutch is first quarter of week one? Instead of clutch much more applies to the playoffs. What happens if you lose week one? What happened when Detroit lost playoff game? Clutch and equal apply comparing both?

Very knowledgable Eagles football fans discussion was my expectation and understanding of its purpose.

That statement would make sense if you discussed anything, but you don’t discuss, you lecture … or you talk to yourself.

Fantastic statement I can respect. Not even sure if I can agree or not. Very debatable. So much so I’m left debating myself whether you or I are correct here. Well done sir!!!!! Huge props!!!

That’s fair. You gave me a sign of optimism maybe it’s a possibility. Think you’ve already consumed enough here to understand the situation enough. I would openly welcome discussion. But more likely to choose sharing my Eagles or NFL thoughts over debating against somebody telling me I’ve never seen Saturn. I’ll accept my role as part of the problem. Feeling justified and forced into by surrounding circumstances.

Reply to the subject and engage with any kind of substantial reasonable opinion. Not everything has to be disagreed with either. Share your own thoughts. Everybody plays a role. Feel I’m at least making the attempts of sharing my thoughts…which I believe are much deeper level into Eagles and the NFL. Doesn’t make me perfectly right. But consumed and acquired tons I’m basing opinions on.

We have some nice LB's but they are injured, so I think Trotter will be the starter until they are ready to play. Jr is quite a bit lighter than his old man was.

I think close to 31 NFL teams would be happy to have our Linebacker "problems” right now.

I’d viciously annihilate you debating Eagles…but a tornado hits your house I’d come help you.

The fact that you can even think in terms of "viciously annihilate you” is a crystal clear indication that you don’t desire discussion but rather verbal combat. Discussion is balanced and two-way, as well as focused on win-win. What you desire is win-lose.

That sucks... is there a way you can get them CCed?

If we post them as YouTubes they typically have a CC icon in the lower right corner. You may have to click the Full Screen icon and turn your phone horizontal to get the CC icon to appear

I owned my role at fault. This post may be helpful. But it’s not doing anything better towards any discussion occurring. Join and discuss. Give it a shot. You can’t throw rocks living in a glass house. You attack me for lecturing or respond in ways that aren’t discussing anything. "Paranioa” "conjecture”…your opinion…skipping debating whether fits or not. Your replies skipping discussion. Your guilty. You made a terrible statement about HCs. Not saying I’ll change from tearing terribly bad opinions to shreds. Least offense as possible intended. Differing opinions with substance, reason and logic? I’m in to discuss. You’ve seen me be as harsh of a d1ck as I’ve probably ever been here. Admit that. But I’m not just that. I can be…but not who or what I do if not feeling provoked. Provoked for me includes really dumb comments. Apply any football opinions equally to anybody telling me I’ve never seen Saturn. Pisses me off obviously. Kills and lowers any possible decent discussion. Seems like admitted being done on purpose fairly often.

Applies to pretty much everybody here…well except MattyWill…no offense…but you haven’t earned that with me yet…no offense. Anything I can do to help anybody is actually what brings me happiness. So I would probably want to help even you MattyWill. I try and do it even for strangers if I can. Guy got in alert bad wreck by my house one time. Helped pull him out through his windshield. I was the person there and could. Only reason for me sharing that moment in my life was: for me it’s just what to do. Want to be clear wasn’t telling that story looking for anything but to make the point of: what else would you do? I haven’t even shared that life moment with many people. My wife and couple neighbors that inquired about neighborhood damage prompting me to tell what happened.

You can help me by not insulting me and lots of other by using their actual names. You haven’t earned the right to be insulting.

I have no life. I’m insane expecting different results over and over again. I just share my NFL thoughts without prompting. Whatever and all to say about me. Fine. Not even going to disagree. But we all are in this together. I at least just own myself. Each of you look in the mirror. Your here. You play your role. You think you have so much of a life than me? You think you aren’t at fault for this board not being of higher standard? I’m sharing my thoughts at least. I’ve played, watched consumed tons of football for decades. Believe I have value. Know what I’m talking about. Right or wrong have reasoning backing up my thoughts.

We have alot of good players in. Even some UDFA's. The cuts will be painful more this year than any others I recall. Other teams will snap up alot of them. Why I still would like the roster set at 56. K, LS and P are basically permanent fixtures usually with no BU's rostered. So 53 plus K,LS,P =56

To get to 53 (55 if you include the two new recallable Injured Reserve roster slots) I would be comfortable with the following scenario … if it becomes clear to Stoutland that Steen isn’t going to win the RG starter position, it would not surprise me at all if Howie trades him to a Guard-needy team before the start of the season.

For those who are uncomfortable with our OG depth in that scenario, here’s my thinking. It starts with the fact that I’m so comfortable with Stoutland that any player he chooses to start is fine with me. Tommy Lawlor (goeagles99 for long time EMBers and creator of the first Blog) in a podcast with Jonny Page and Shane Haff said he wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Matt Pryor as the Week One starter. @just relax took the time to seek out some of Pryor’s 2024 videos, and he was impressed with how patient Pryor has become in his blocking. Pryor has really refined his craft especially as a pass blocker. Patience isn’t as necessary in run blocking, so a move from Becton to Pryor would appear to be an improvement in pass blocking and a step back in run blocking.

Pryor starting with Keegan, Green, Kendall, Williams and Hinton as depth gives Stoutland plenty to work with.

That frees up one more roster spot, as well as adding another future Draft pick to Howie’s arsenal.

Right here right now…I’ll try to make efforts towards improving this board. Help me…help you. Each one of us does this…we all benefit.

You talk about blaming Hurts sucking for everything goes wrong.

I have never heard Joe say that about Hurts even once since I have been posting here. You must be hearing voices inside your head.

Can I ask if you disagree about the Lions considered and earned thought of as the best team all season?

2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:

Over and over and over again….Hurts isn’t a starting NFL QB. Stupid to trade Wentz preferring Hurts. Hurts could never win a SB. Not exactly quotes I dug up to be perfectly precise…but actually think they are exactly words you shared was your opinion…if not exactly…only because of the least important actual words slightly differing. You said these statements..or near to these at least several times.

Ancient history.

Why do you insist on being an elephant?

If we dig through the entire history..sadly much been lost…I’d wager a very high percentage of your shared views about 2022 season SB were blaming Hurts fumble and being returned for a TD. I actually can’t even recall once you mentioned any of the rest of his incredible performance that day(me not recalling it doesn’t mean it actually zero times wasn’t mentioned by you some moment he had…feels like I’d have to be wrong at least…yet….can’t think of a single one)

Again Ancient History. More of you being an elephant.

Rams were tough…improved. Going to be even more difficult. McVay man….been saying AR best coach. He’s earned it. But gameplanning , running and calling an O? Think McVay is that guy. Top guy to observe if you want to study ways to improve an O. Shannahan best at making any QB better than they are. McVay could take the best QB to heights never seen. AR O built to be most easily taught and learned that’s been elite scheme being improved over decades. Sean Peyton somewhere near the discussion. He’s very good…but think he more flexible to ruthlessly finding ways beyond fair play on the field.

You had the opinion the terrible P hadn’t ever actually cost us anything yet so it wasn’t important. Then denied his shank as being any factor blaming only the bad P coverage at fault. Great example surrounding your flawed logic. You steadfast held by because something hasn’t occurred means it won’t and isn’t possible. Versus FL and myself harping on needing to replace that P…even kept him while injured. Only diehard Eagles fans discuss P. We shared that!!!! Can’t make any argument against we all are diehard hard core Eagles fans!!! Not just on gameday…every single day…bleed green.

Three times is a charm … ancient history once again.

In this case, could you have punted better than the Eagles punter did. If we can’t personally do better than the player, or alternatively walk in his shoes, what right do we have to criticize them? Instead of criticizing, we should try empathizing.

Vikings coach O’Connell really standing out immediately to me. So early in his career…but believing this guy is special. Won as many games as us. Weren’t ever a contender in my mind. Just weren’t a very good team. So kind of goes against my opinions consistently…the Vikings lost top seed and division at the end to the Lions(in the clutch game). Didn’t rock it in the playoffs. All I predicted. But why I see this different than like us and Siri collapse ..big games much more important and all that? Vikings just weren’t good enough to ever beat the lions and be contenders in the playoffs. Great coaching could get them to overachieve with 14 wins and a shot at first seed and division title. To me that was unbelievable! They could have been a 5 win team and nobody would have blinked. No coaching was capable of Vikings beating the Lions and playoff success. Watch out with that guy. He gets players and a good QB can’t even imagine. 14 wins with a head to head one game matchup chance for top seed against the best team(arguably and considered though stretching things here admittedly really think Eagles were unstoppable and stopping ourselves was biggest obstacle…which honestly was looming as way to possible).
