That's a brutal way to run a business.  

You never recover that money.  The alternative was to sign a Montgomery type ...you take a 3 or 4 mil cap hit, and you can use the other 7-8 mil for other stuff...or keep the cap space.

Your logic of " vetting" a guy you already had for 4 years by committing huge cap hit...is plain bad business.

You don't " vet" players by giving them huge money first.  Better off committing then losing the player. 

Look at the Eagles... Wentz and Reddick.   I know this is difficult because the concept of dead money being used as a positive tool to get more cap space is something you don't grasp or choose not to due to your anti Howie agenda... 

But let's look at those two deals vs Tagging Pollard and Dak.

Both the Eagles moves... like $54 mil of dead money...but actually got back cap space.... also got back a 1st, 3rd and another 3rd possibly a 2nd round pick in return. 

Dallas...$43 mil to " vet"  Dak got hurt,  they paid him anyway at 2021 market value instead of 2019.   Pollard left anyway.

No picks back... still needed to replace Pollard and don't have a QB locked up after this year.

"Vetting" by paying is bad business.   Do it early, then you can get out of a bad deal if needed... if it hits, then you can keep on resigning the player early to keep cap hits low.

That’s where they have just been pathetic. Terrible coaching holding them back postseason. But we held them back also by forcing them to play on the road in the postseason every other year we switch winning the division with them. But when you actually look into things: it’s been one game difference each season to win the division. If you don’t win the division you’re playing every playoff game on the road. One game difference between us and the cowboys for the division every year.

I just don’t see Hurts being historically great at converting short yardage as a negative. Other than he takes such massive extra abuse on these plays. Clearly wears on his body. NFL pileups are dangerous. You’d get arrested for doing what some of those guys do down there..anywhere else.

I'm comparing Howie vs Dak....I'm not even going into anything the last 27 years.... just this era.  It's not close for results.   

Dallas drafts better....that's it.   The rest isn't close...the results aren't close.

Well the rest of us see it a the team and mostly the OL.   But you know... let's not beat a dead horse here...it's sunny outside today... you think Hurts is the reason.   

I enjoy when our Eagles score TDs. Hurts did it best we’ve ever seen. Proud of him accomplishing that last season. It was despite all the crap he had to overcome doing it.

Hurts is in the league due to his running.   Prove me wrong.   Below average passer blessed with 2 outstanding WRs and a quality TE

We shall see if he can develop his passing game...because the running isn't going to last much longer.  

3 years left to see.  Certainly can't complain about the supporting cast.

I keep saying that I'm concerned about my QB passing...not running.  Every bs stat you bring up from him involves running.   That's a problem.  The guys who have won the Lombardi are the passers, not the runners. 

We have been waiting our whole lives for this duo of WRs... did we waste them on a running QB?  

Idk...but he can sure sneak it in on 1st and goal after Dickerson makes the hole.
