Up to 4 now? Who in the world would give up those assets?

Some of the posters argued for 5, one more than 4. "Howie has said previously that every player has a price… except for franchise QB. If you have a franchise QB you know can start for you for a long time, then even 5 first round picks still isn’t enough. It’s not about whether or not Hurts is worth 5 1sts, it’s about where your team is at after you lose him" and "I would think even right now his value should be more than 3 firsts without knowing the intricacies of his contract. They just supposedly offered 3 firsts for a 30 year old DE. If he was superbowl mvp again his value would be so high to the Eagles no team would offer what that would take."

The answer to your question is "a QB-hungry team"

Anyone that gives that up should fire the GM immediately and sell the team because obviously they know nothing. No one can estimate how good or bad Hurts would look with a crap O line and no round 1 players for 4-5 drafts. Which team(s) do you have in mind as trade partners? This is a Ham dream scenario

It's exactly what it's about

So we went from 3 to 5 now? Unreal, make it 12 and it's a deal lol

It's hard for me to buy that Howie offered a 4th for Hendricks(possibly) but would give up 3 firsts for Garrett(rumor).

Well who did you have in mind as a trade partner?

I like McKee, always have been a fan. I suppose anything is possible. I just have no idea who would give up their future for Hurts

Asked and answered ... a QB hungry team. Just as Jimmy Johnson found a RB hungry team for Herschel Walker.

Too general. We'd need to know which team(s). Every team that has a mediocre QB is hungry for a QB just like every year. Which round 1 picks, pick 5 or pick 30?

I'm a lager guy but used to go to Oktoberfest in FL at the German- American club because they had Dunkel dark on draft. It came in a boot you wore around your neck

I had Wersteiner Dunkel on Halloween... im a fan of the German beers, especially in the fall.

I'm not advocating for or against. Simply detailing what the market parameters are.

With that said, there is one hypothetical scenario that Wharton MBAs would find intriguing to contemplate from an asset maximization perspective. That scenario exists if the Eagles front office believes they have two franchise QBs, Hurts and McKee. In that hypothetical reality, the four 1st Round picks they get from a trade of Hurts is significantly more assets than the one 1st Round pick they get from a trade of McKee. In addition the annual Cap cost for McKee is significantly less than the annual Cap cost for Hurts. Finally, the Dead Cap associated with a Hurts trade is significantly more then the Dead Cap (currently $0) associated with McKee. The Whartonites would put those parameters into a value maximization program and see what is spit out. In some ways it is remarkably similar to the situation they had with Wentz prior to trading him to the Colts.

That is a dispassionate answer to your question.

No shot they get 3 first round picks for Hurts... let alone 4. ..lol

That's why Wharton doesn't belong in making football decisions

I like Grolsch with the cork pop top bottles. Tsing Tao from China and my regular go to is Rolling Rock(in latrobe PA). Most darks are too bitter for me but Dunkel is SMOOTH

Who offered 3 firsts? Plus..

Who ( other than Ham) thinks Hurts is a better player than Garrett? Nobody is offering 3 firsts for Hurts. He can win 3 more SBs...the narrative is out there that he wins due to his team. Again...other than Ham...nobody thinks he carries the team. He is dealt a great hand...and he wins.

Name a team that you think would offer 2 firsts plus say another 2nd or 3rd? Another contender probably already has a QB. A rebuilding team isn't going to offer that???

The narrative won't change... Hurts will be seen as a winner....all the intangibles..

But his team will be perceived as to why he wins.

Who is a QB hungry team? That would feel Hurts is the answer...enough to win without having 5 first round picks to help him?

Ham doesn't use examples and talks in the hypothetical... hypothetical isn't the real world... that's why we are asking for a real scenario.

What was the trade haul for Hershel....5 firsts? Lol

"The first NFL draft took place in February 1936 in a Philadelphia hotel. With the first pick, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Heisman Trophy winner Jay Berwanger from the University of Chicago. A total of 81 players were drafted -- but only 24 went on to play in the NFL."

Agree the dunked is smooth. I like some " nut brown ales" but never grew up liking the bitter or dark beer. Hefenweisen beers... Dunkels... but I also like October fests, wheat beers...and every so often a good Stout. Just not an IPA guy. After a softball game I can put down some lites ... probably have a bunch Monday night with friends watching the Eagles. I'll drink Corona in rhe summer. I like the Teas though in the summer on the beach or by the pool. We have Surfside and Wildwood Days here locally.

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-salary-cap-history/ Walker was traded prior to the salary cap(aka league parity) when teams prior to that could spend unlimited amounts to literally buy a championship

I like Twisted tea myself too. I like Corona but since Rolling Rock is like a rare animal sighting here in NC I have been drinking Modelo(gold). I brought some Land Shark bottles from FL lol
