What is the done deal? I didn't see any contract news regarding Hurts!

I was the only one here understanding to move on from Wentz to Hurts also.

I think we just differ on the possibility of his play being adequate starter level...without being awful or standout.

To me, I think very possible. To where they don't necessarily want to eat the money and theoretically take a " step backwards" starting over next year.... and at the same time don't feel the urgency to commit to $60 plus million per year on the next deal.

He is technically signed through 2028 using " option bonuses" that gives the team leverage to where there is still a year left without guaranteed money...that they can always absorb into a new signing bonus.

The contract is structured very team friendly as far as control here towards the end. Idk they rush to lose that and take a huge cap hit. But for sure possible if the right deal comes up. Houston to me has always been the team to watch in that regard ..his hometown.

IDK what else can be done as far as giving Hurts everything he needs. I know I am disappointed in his passing, but that's ok IF he ran like he used to do. Hurts used to be devastating on broken plays and why I believe we paid him. That's when he stopped running, like someone resting on his laurels. I understand "self preservation" and not wanting him to run so much he tires and gets injured. But after his side deal BS, teams knew he wasn't much of a running threat and I think that hurts everyone. He needs to run, just to keep the threat alive. if defenses hesitate because they think Hurts will take off, that helps. If he is now a 1 dimensional "pocket passer" he will need more field vision than he has shown to date. It seemed to me(personally) that the called QB runs were easily covered in the RPO. I hope Mannion has additional play calls using the RPO. I would personally rather see play action used instead of the RPO, but that is just personal opinion. I view this year as Hurts "contract year." Hurts is a better game manager than he is a QB. Just like to see more effort from him. Like running to the sideline for 2 yards when you needed 4 for the first down. Those things really tick me off. he used to bust those for 30 yard scampers and that was a threat that made defenses hesitate and I feel we need that back if we want another SB shot

First most crucial need is always quality coach.

He brought in AJ after Rosie flipped and failed endlessly

I actually don’t agree so much about Hurts game managing. It’s not what he’s really been doing. Siri controlled the O. Only gave Hurts like 3 audibles each season. Pretty much telling him to run the dang play called.

It is effectively a contract year…no guaranteed money left.

Ok…now addressing the physical abuse wear and tear with Hurts. You obviously aren’t paying attention how Siri forced this on him. It was Siri’s main focus for The Collapse season.

Hurts is still going to run. Just picking his spots much more selectively. You still just aren’t getting that was LAST SEASON

That championship season was the most physically demanding brutal season in the history of the league.

Siri coached Hurts to get down…not take so many chances…live to fight another day. Because our team can’t win without him!

That was 2023…now fast forward to Siri back in charge by promoting his puppet

Just consider Rosie’s very large fondness ahead of his time with having such a robust analytics department. Give me any version those very well paid analytics guys concluded after a SB season that the workload would need to be lightened and managed for the repeat.

I keep trying to beat in your head it’s about prioritizing postseason.

See,this is why I think Howie and company lean towards letting Hurts play 2027 without an extension....unless the play is just so phenomenal.

There is still some guaranteed money left in 2027, you don't want to take the dead cap hit. Let him play 2 more years and the guaranteed money run out. Still has 2028 on the contract, if they want to keep him, they can extend before 2028.

If this year there is below average play...and the proper deal comes up. With Hurts waiving the no trade... it will take all that to move on completely. I just don't see all that happening.

I guess to me I'm seeing a high enough floor and low enough ceiling in 2026 to where I think the Eagles just avoid making any decision to change.

True. Just saying if AJ goes away, Howie could cut bait for one of the 1 top draft picks in '27. You got that kid for 5 years at rook pay, so that would offset the cap hit. IDK the exact number I'm sure you do, but if you could get say Arch Manning for the 30 mil cap hit (or whatever the amount is),you'd have him for 30 mil hit plus his rookie contract amount for (possibly) 5 years

What I feel Hurts is doing is refining greatness. What other QB would accept cutting back passing killing his stats?

He doesn’t care! He doesn’t pad stats just to feed his ego.

Looking at a mock draft ( i can't believe it GB, shoot me now...lol)

1st = Manning

3rd Dante Moore

4th CJ Carr

14th Drew Mestemaker

Obviously way way to early... plus we don't know which teams finish where yet in the draft order. But looking there... the idea of the Eagles moving up would seem to rely on if one of those top 3 fell pretty far or that they really like QB #4.. or one or two sleepers emerge.

I just can't see them making the trade up to the top 5... knowing other teams should have more to offer those top teams. Could easily take minimum two 1sts plus another 2nd or 3rd... if not three 1sts.

That's tough for me to see Howie give up... unless Hurts completely tanks.

I'm laughing at your mock comment not the rest LOL

Use your eyes….or try and make a case it was better than last other than what Moore provided.

Still ZERO link to your claim we were last on offense LOL. Just admit you were wrong LMFAO. The sun will STILL rise tomorrow LOLOL

LMFAO, sure, after the article came out we all read, just comical 🤣.

That Hurts wasn’t learning or being coached under Siri? That Siri just coaches: don’t get hurt and don’t throw interceptions?

He’s been the absolute best player on the field in both SBs. What’s to judge more than that?

See I get that you guys don’t enjoy our very talented O not performing near their ceiling. My view has been Hurts has been upset…nicest version.

So yeah.,.the article showed Hurts doesn’t trust Patullo and Siri as the O mind. Freakin’ DUH!

Hurts family friend was axed as the scapegoat. The two of them were unhappy with Siri O. Yet the coach not allowed to have much real power…..took the fall for Siri.

Steichen saved Siri from himself

Moore got con jobbed and tricked! Was told it was his O autonmous. Lurie and Rosie demoted Siri to only CEO. But that was a lie! Siri from day one killed Moore running his playbook. Then Siri started meddling the second game of the season. I was complaining…no real proof other than you saw the Siri effect toneing down the playbook and O. Week three it went further. Tampa was just a trainwreck. Terrible coaching! Rest your guys instead of anything like happened there. I get all the injuries..Heat…Bucs are a matchup problem.
