Vick or/and Hurts both share being competitors and driven winners. Both can stand tall as possibly best most defining moments surrounding them actually took place in biggest game loss. Both near unstoppable when it comes to defining championship moments. Vick National championship Game in college versus stacked mostly NFL FL St team in their histories top prime. That Fl St elite dominance wasn’t any small blip. Every year stacked contending dominant teams. That season they were even better than most others in that run of complete dominance. Vick faced down impossible whole stacked elite championship team…way undermanned. Vick’s team was good…but nowhere near stacked like that FL St team he faced. Fl St had tons of experience in contending top level high pressure games …every year. Vick’s team? All new experiences…but just players…talking coaches…all sports program college involved organization.

Vick was no doubt MVP best player on that field. Just like Hurts in that first SB. But loser never receives credit.

The comparison between the two there is some of the greatest I’ve ever witnessed.

But with all the superior athletic gifts with Vick….he never contributed at the levels Hurts does. Vick could make whatever pretty much happen…but he wasn’t leading his teams raising others up so much.

Yeah, but that was only because Howie took pity on Vick due to the way the Eagles destroyed the Falcons in the 2004 NFC Championship.

Just take a look at how Goff has fared when pressured versus when he has time to throw since joining the Lions in 2022, per Next Gen Stats:

• vs. no pressure: 75.3% completion rate, 8.3 yards per attempt, 106 TDs, 17 INTs, 117 rating.

Just incase anyone didn't realize... i just saw a study, they came to a conclusion that the majority of competitive swimmers end up being wet by the end of their race.

Not only do QBs throw less effectively under pressure, but study shows that batters with 2 strikes are less efficient hitters. Also the NBA found that contested shots go in less than when a player has time to shoot.

This is going to be an interesting season for Smitty. How is he going to handle being the #1 guy a teams top focus to stop in the passing game.

He had the luxury of AJ taking the top DB most of the time before now he is going to be that guy.

And it will only get worse for him if we don’t have a viable #2/#3 step up and hit the defense

Is Zach Ertz still a free agent? I know we don’t need him right now but I’d definitely have him on my short list of veterans to contact if injuries happen.

And if Geodart is as bad as he was last year as a blocker might not be a huge difference if we had to go to Ertz( knowing Geodart likely to miss games possibly extended amount)

IDK seems many are writing off Wicks as irrelevant. I think that is a mistake. Lemon should get a nice share of targets too. Just tossing this out. Why do you need guys to "take the top off the D" if the QB can't sling it 60 air yards. There is no point to it. Most DB's can stay with a WR for the 45 yards Hurts can throw it, after that it's moot. Smitty is alot more agile than you think. His quick moves get him open and I suspect Lemon will do that as well. Not sure what Wicks is capable of as he was overshadowed in GB. Maybe it's his time to shine now too

To be blunt…scheme isn’t even debater with Siri. Never existed. Let’s face it….you can’t even call what he brought as anything but laughable towards even attempting developing a playbook. Playbook development 101: every personnel grouping along with alignment require multiple varying play options. There pretty much is no version you ever just come up with any single play. Rare exception a super trick play Philly Special-esque.

You design a play. You have personnel packaging, motion elements along with alignment. By almost pure default if you are anywhere near having a brain as an O mind….any play developed has almost an opposite counter that tags along immediately. Honestly? Only two play options from any single package alignment combination is pathetic and over simplistic….more like under developed

The Hurts ball lickers and the excuses year in and year out for a guy entering what year 7-8…. Fact is it has nothing to do with us fans the FO has shown they don’t believe in Hurts why a contract extension isn’t being done it’s that simple it’s a make or break season for Hurts

Strong arm pass thrower is just one of a hundred qualities and duties needed for Hurts job.
