July 31Jul 31 Which player? Mailata? Was quoted as saying if we put the top five O brains for the Eagles all in one room? It would just be Mannion.
August 1Aug 1 Author Why the Eagles have much more to worry about than Jalen Hurts struggling for one practice"There might be some panic from the outside seeing Hurts not have as great a practice. He had some missed throws, including DeVonta Smith being wide open 40 yards down the field, and he not hitting him. Things like that are going to happen at camp"............................... Here's a consistent problem that apparently can't be fixed in 6 years!!!!!! WTH????? Here we go again????? No, things like that should NOT happen at camp unless it's a GREEN ROOKIE QB. Put some nice fashionable HIGH HEEL SPIKES if Hurts can't see over the line, but this was WAY downfield anyhow. I'm sorry a 6th year PRO can't find a wide open guy? Because that's the damn JOB. Is Hurts going to piss off and ignore or miss a wide open Smitty now???? Just piss poor JV stuff still going on at QB. OK 1 practice, but if this happens AGAIN then Hurts is being WAAAAAAY overpaid. WR's work hard to get open, being WIDE open is a damn GIFT. I didn't see the play, was he not thrown to or just MISSED???? Either way it's a BAD sign and very deflating to a receiver who starts to question "what else can I do????" especially now that he has moved to #1 WR. This connection should already be established. Just sad news for me to hear this. Apparently Stowers isn't going to be used much. I hope we can get him some TE1 snaps in garbage time. If Hurts is going to be JV again, the running game HAS TO WORK
August 1Aug 1 First week of camp... let's relax. We know the offense works as the running game works. I wouldn't worry too much until they play for real.
August 1Aug 1 Hurts is looking good so far but curious to see what happens when he starts to get hit that’s when it matters

If he is a threat to run...along with the ground game working with the RBs. . Then it puts is at a huge advantage limiting his attempts. Our scoring is so much better in games where he throws it less.

I'm not going to panic, still it seems concerning for a 6th/7th year QB screwing up in practice. Sick of giving Hurts constant passes for errors he never cleans up, like he forgets everything he should have ingrained by now. Is he still doing 1 read? has he graduated yet? Same stuff we were talking about in year 2/3,not reaching the bar we set. This is a 55 million dollar QB? Missing wide open receivers? I can miss passes for a mere 5 million a year, think of the savings!!!!! Would we be mad if we had the same player called for offsides 2 times a game every game? Why do they clean up their mistakes but we give Hurts a pass???? If it was a missed pass due to defense NP but you're missing "wide open" guys downfield???? More excuses for LACK of perfection. It's time he performed to the level of his salary. Dalton/McKee would make that throw ALL DAY

Threw a nice pass day 1 on the run to his LEFT which was always an issue for him. Alot of camp left to play. Why do people think I panic when I am offering my view or opinion? "It's my opinion and I'll whine if I want to, whine if I want to....."(Leslie Gore) 🤣 Nice to see under center over the middle passes, just like a real pro LOL. Only took 6+ years. I said some PLUS things too but we always have to go for the negative things I point out. NP it's an opinion board

August 1Aug 1 Author If you watched "The Replacements" there is one part in it I really believe. When they are in the locker room and the coach asks "what scares you?" and after some comedic answers, Falco gets serious and says "Quicksand". It's so true too. We know what happens if you fall in

Hurts couldn’t have anymore clearly stepped up and answered resoundingly. Best player on the field…a field containing alltime HOF players…..on the biggest stage.

Only those with an unreasonable agenda to bash Hurts over everything.

Do you want him thicker enabling possibly to absorb more punishment and accel in short yardage Brotherly Shove situations? Or do you risk him leaner and more agile but more susceptible to physicality of his job taking too much a toll?

I’m not really thinking Brotherly Shove is still going to be nearly the effective tool it’s been. But….do believe Saquan lesser strength has proven punching short yardage.

Ok…so how important longer term evaluation are the first four weeks? —my answer really near to zero. Inexperienced coach, Mannion, expectations for even if his players are fantastic and perform at high levels ….timetable just based on our OC to begin to develop?

But Rosie forced McDermott out after his first season. McDermott thrived ever since. So even a very experienced very well prepared coordinator should reasonably be expected to have reached his ceiling during his first season.

Took him four weeks with uber talented personnel to sort some things out to get the D going originally. Fangio even advised our D just two season prior remember also…already feeling out our personnel.
August 1Aug 1 Do you Start really caring about fairly starting to evaluate progress after first season bye? Second half of first season would be ideal all time speedy development in a completely inexperienced OC to sort some things out getting the O working. There’s Mannion first time converting inexperienced personnel into a quality Shannahan element. Like even Shannahan himself it would take some time to just get our players so far up to speed. So many coming from the most extreme lowest level Siri O. 32nd quality NFL Siri nonscheme O…all the way to highest quality O scheme.

Can Mannion even step up to provide opportunity for an O to produce at top ten levels? Even riding the hardest extreme optimism belief in Mannion…..are we realistically thinking towards to end of his second season at the helm? I know we all wanted most experienced ready to contend OC. Went the opposite route. Least experienced.
August 1Aug 1 FL obviously expects unrealistic development and progress. Heck…ludicrous and understatement. He completely judged Moore with Hurts primarily surrounding week one….honestly I point out how actually huge weight of judgement was being placed on the very first series of the season. Didn’t play PS at all. So actual first series where QB could actually even consider taking a hit. In Brazil…out of his own Endzone….with Dickerson getting owned two of the three plays….interception play Dickerson’s man keeps Hurts from finishing his throw.
