Observations from the game:

• Hurts was clutch on the final drive! Gotta give hIm credit since we also are tough on him for his limitations.

• Defense needs to play much better against the run….I mean much better. Way too many lapses and getting moved off the line of scrimmage.

• Smith is a great WR! He impressed today.

• The OLine played…..ok. Simmons is an absolute stud! He caused the bad throw that was picked towards the end of the game.

• If Mundt is the blocking TE, he needs to learn how to block. Sigh! Where is the TE they drafted?

• So far the rookie class is not looking good at all. Is Lemon unable to learn the offense? The backwards passes to him are a joke. They don’t fool anyone. The play doesn’t set up anything. THROW THAT PLAY OUT!

• Jihad Campbell needs to get better in pass coverage….and soon!

• Woolen looks better than expected so far.

• Mitchell is not afraid to tackle and he does it well.

• Finally, I hate to say it but this team looks VERY average to me. Hope I’m wrong.

Hurts stayed calm ...as he always does. The issue is his decisiveness. He pulled the trigger to make the plays. If he does that more often during the games, he should be fine. Not everything needs to be perfect, make the throw if you see it.

Defense dominated the first half, some soft coverage still annoys me when they give up that easy post slight slant route for 12 yards. The run on 3rd and 22 was just brutal, actually worked in our favor ending up leaving less time for them.

Smith... dude is what the kids should watch on how to play WR. route running, the stretching for the ball, and just making every difficult catch.. and the toe work around the sideline. Plus just never complains and never shows off.

Campbell... seems to be taking the wrong gaps on runs.

I will add ... I believe the key to the season and the Sirianni era moving forward ... is how they handle the OL. Some of the young guys are going to need to step up. They are going to need to decide if and when to move on from certain vets. I see Steen as a solid backup, pretty solid pass protector, but doesn't offer much in run blocking. If you combine him at RG, and the C and LG struggle, that's not a good combo.

Now speaking of the rookies... how about the last two drafts? They decided to draft LB, S, WR and TE with the first two picks the last two years... 4 opportunities they could have had linemen. We will see in a year or two, what the return will be at these positions and if they goofed passing up a chance to fortify the lines. It could seriously backfire and set the organization back.

I hate those flair passes. We don't have the edge guys on O to get out there and block a damn thing. Agreed,scrap that play

Bell could be ok, but I agree alot more linemen need drafted. The move up for Lemon looks bad at this point. Stowers too, so that's 2 potential busts. TG we have Darius. Hollywood is unhappy. I can't blame the guy, we have too many WR's and need linemen and a decent S, so why not make a trade? Brown wants to play and we should let him go where he can. Lampkin was good in camp, but he's small for a G and not sure he could take a full games punishment. Mannion hasn't really shown me anything I like. of course it's hard to call plays with a substandard O line

I feel the exact opposite. I believe they fully understand that this has been the first two weeks of a 17 game season. Now is precisely the time when you can most afford to live test the various options you have in dealing with the Dickerson injury situation. So far they have tried two possibilities, and both of those possibilities have shown that they are far from optimal. I fully expect they will choose the Week Three option after thorough evaluation of the video tape of today’s performances. Understanding why the Offense succeeded in the three First Half drives and the final drive of the game will be just as important as what caused the failures of the first four drives of the Second Half.

They knew full well that Jurgens had never played Left Guard, and that that inexperience was going to result in increased risk of subpar execution on some of the individual snaps. But the saying "Never up, Never in” applies. It was a viable option. One that deserved to be tested. They now have the test results.

IMO we should bring Becton(T/G)back and add Evan Neal(G) also. Trade Hollywood away. Both O linemen are FA's and if we want this running game to work, we need to make some moves now while it's still early. I was so very happy that Cooper got his first TD. Kid has worked his tail off to make this team and he's proving he belongs. A true undrafted rags to riches story. Love the kid. C'mon Howie we know you can do it. Get those O line guys in here. If that gets done, I still have post season aspirations but we're not going to get there with things as they are

Washington lost a TD when they said they couldn't tell if the receiver had control of the ball

KC lost a 1st down when they said they couldn't see where the ball was when clearly the ball was a full yard past the line of gain.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but you have to wonder how much the Vegas line has to do with this.

Add that to the dumbest way to lose a football game when NC state lost on a fumble recovery in the end zone when they were trying to take a safety

The funny thing is... after the Vermeil guys retired... the OL was never good for over a decade. No free agency to help.

This OL is 100 times better than that era. As Spuds said yesterday on the radio, the current Eagles fans are just not used to an OL that isn't dominant, let alone just above average.

He had experience at Right Guard, but no experience at Left Guard. Two very different positions that definitely share similarities, but think about simple tasks that you do with your right hand and now try and do those same tasks with your left hand. Some of those tasks are easy to do, but others are very difficult. Have you ever driven a car in England, where they drive on the left side of the road? What was that experience like? Jurgens was being asked to drive on the "other side” of the road.

Why do you consider the experiment to have been a failure? I consider it to have been a success … as a step in a complex problem solving process. They have lots of live video tape as a result, which will be valuable input in their quest for the optimal solution to their Left Guard "problem.”

How is having done this experiment going to make the difficulty of the coming weeks any more challenging than it already was?

Mannion’s Offensive scheme calls for dancing bears with nimble feet rather than maulers. How much of a dancing bear was Becton in 2024 … when he was in shape and hadn’t had a big pay day? Now he is out of shape and out of touch. Do you really think that is a viable answer to our Left Guard challenges?

So Hurts had 2 pretty bad ints this week. He did also orchestrate the game winning drive with a good ball to Cooper in the back of the EZ.

Turnovers have been in issue when we looked to open up more with Hurts as a passer will this trend continue? Or was this game just an outlier

Agree...except for Cooper was wide open, the throw forced a catch that didn't need to be so difficult

In what way were either of those "bad ints”? In the second one Simmons hit Hurts as he was throwing. In tennis they would call that a "forced error” rather than an "unforced error.” The other team came to play and do everything they could to win.

The first one is a textbook example of that sentence above in action. The Titans Safety made an outstanding play on the ball and the Titans DC drew up an outstanding play, which beautifully disguised how the play was going to unfold. As a result the location of the Safety was partially obscured from Hurts’ vision. Hurts could have made a marginally better throw, but the reason for the interception was not a bad throw, but rather an outstanding Defensive play.
