"I definitely think we got emotionally tired, trying to figure out what the problem was…There was some miscommunication from coaches to players, there was some pointing fingers from player to player and there was letting outside voices impact our love for the game and the happiness we had. All of that combined to kind of make us spiral.” BritainCovey

The yards of separation really shrunk this last season. Pretty much down the line receivers averaged a yard less of separation per play compared to last season.

My son read that toward the end of the season many defensive players wouldn't even speak to Desai

Hard to get separation when the D knows what you're gonna do before the play starts.

"I’m sure somebody did it,” Bosa said. "It kind of reminded me of Philly when they had this construction going on outside. It was early in the morning and they were like demolishing a bridge right outside of our hotel. We haven’t had the best luck. But no excuses.” Speaking of the fire alarm going off at the Niners hotel this week.

Because id be shocked we sign a RB let alone two RBs lol

It’s a big RB FA group this offseason. I think we should sign two FA. Should target two cheap RB FA.

I listed off like six FA options to look at.

Zack Moss, Donta Foreman, AJ Dillon…

Niners scored a TD on their opening drive over 58 percent of the time. That’s some excellent coaching. A great game plan. Having your team ready to play each week.

Andy Reid is the third highest paid coach in his own division. Isn’t that just insane? Him going there changed that whole organization. That team was tight on cash flow. Having this run of Championship success couldn’t of made a larger difference to any other franchise.

Sean Payton talked about how they were prepared to take Mahomes in that draft. Said they had Mahomes and Lattimore as their options they loved. Talked about how that draft the QB talk was all about all the others…Mahomes wasn’t. Chiefs traded up specifically ahead of them to get Mahomes. He did admit he wasn’t sure which player they would have chosen between Mahomes and Lattimore. But once the draft came to within the pick before them they were happy to know they’d get either option. So they didn’t feel the need to move up. Saints had probably their strongest draft that year. They loaded up on several really quality players. Yet still seemed to highlight how big the QB position is. Lattimore is an elite CB. Plus they got Ramsyck and some other very noticeable names. Yet even nailing a draft so well wasn’t enough to outweigh if they traded up and got Mahomes. Five quality…even elite players at other positions can’t counter missing out on Mahomes.

Marathon Lattimore CB, T Ryan Ramcyzc, S Marcus Williams, RB Alvin Kamara, LB Hendrickson

One heck of a draft. Better than any draft class I remember us putting together. But we’re one selection away from selecting Mahomes. Saints never accomplished much if anything with such a great draft after. Coach left. All opposite of what was likely to occur if they traded all those selections to move up one spot for Mahomes.

Back to Eagles news ....   seems Reddick was given permission to seek a trade.  This I see incase his agent thinks he is going to get $30 mil per season like some on here do.

When he comes back down to reality, I'm sure a reasonable extension will be agreed upon.

Rosie just has to change his thinking here. Still nowhere near getting over us losing the last SB. Never get a more ideal scenario and situation of having a season so ripe for our taking. Much more talented than the Chiefs. But they had the TE and Slot WR. Countered with Pacheco. We had our most quality LB and S situation going. Very experienced and quality Edwards and White at LB. Epps and added CGJ at S. But they looked nonexistent against the Chiefs O. All they had was Kelce. Juju in the slot isn’t some massive weapon. Pacheco isn’t an elite RB. Yet that’s all it took to abuse our D. Just not going along with the belief in not appreciating the center of the D personnel. Had an alltime pass rush. Big time CBs. Yet that philosophy of D personnel prioritization was completely proven a false belief. Couldn’t even make them punt the whole second half. That was the best center of D year we’ve put together even. Bringing in White. Holding on to Edwards. Desperate Trading for CJG. There was no surprise in what the Chiefs would try to do ever. Feed Kelce. Juju pretty much the only other option. We couldn’t even make it close to challenging for them.

They have Mahomes....we have Hurts.  Not close..other than running.

If managing the cap isn’t the huge failure that surrendered our season to only affording Terrell Edmunds and Nicholas Morrow? Then it’s just incompetence and ignorance. Rumors swirled around we were the main players in pulling off the Patrick Queen trade. That we just wouldn’t cough up enough to make the move happen. Lost out on Marcus Williams in FA over pay. Lost CGJ over hard ball pay failure. The guy accepted what? Like 1 year 5 mil contract. How could we have not been willing to pay him more than that? Instead pay way more to both older CBs.

Hurts was easily the better player in that SB. Overall I’m not saying Hurts is better than Mahomes. Mahomes is still young and already earned consideration for the best player ever. Can’t get a higher bar of comparison than Mahomes. But clearly that day…Hurts was on fire and the bigger weapon. You can use historical stats and all that saying Mahomes is better than Hurts. What you can’t do is rewatch that SB with anybody else and convince them the difference in the Chiefs and Eagles that day was Mahomes over Hurts. Mahomes job was so incredibly easy. Easy passes to Kelce and JuJu wide open. They ran the same play to score two TDs we left the guy unguarded. Not even talking the WR gained a step on our defender. Nobody even attempted coverage. What Hurts did in that game was far from easy. He had to make the difficult spectacular happen.

I only remember like one great throw and catch along the sideline that Mahomes and Kelce completed. As unbelievable as Mahomes can be…he didn’t have all those insane highlights in that SB. Seen him throw at all kinds of angles. Throw with his left hand even. Make some cannon armed throws. He totally has all those tools and has done those things. But not what happened against us. He just threw short passes to the same guys over and over again. Easy completions because they were wide open. Not like had half a step open. Not tight window NFL open even. Any level of football wide open.

Mahomes was actually more what you’d call a game managing type QB. Just accurate on short quick passes. They had the knowledge from AR of just attacking the center of our D. Quick passing attack. Nullified our elite pass rush. Took advantage of our passing pass coverage anywhere near the line of scrimmage.

Mahomes did have two big gains with his legs in that game. Those and one throw along the sideline that the best TE ever made the catch on. Show me anything spectacular that Mahomes did in that game otherwise. Mahomes is sick! But it didn’t take any Mahomes level of QB play to do what he did that day. Just being accurate on short passes to open receivers. That is a skill. But not one that even would qualify any QB for being at an NFL level. Wasn’t because of some amazing scrambling and then tossing a 70 yard pass. He wasn’t zipping Favre-esque lasers between two defenders in tight coverage. Just dropping the ball off to open targets. Predictably open expecting the throws and targets presnap even. Quick throw to Kelce or JuJu.

Doesn’t take Mahomes to throw a quick pass to the best TE ever. Especially the way we never even managed to challenge those plays. No idea what the D game plan was. Still to this day. What else should the game plan have been other than to focus on Kelce. Bump him at the line. With a double team. Heck triple team. Make contact off the line. Have a second level defender behind that. If he was pulling down contested balls against two defenders? You can live with that. But they really didn’t have anything else to turn to. Mahomes and Kelce are so special and elite. I wouldn’t say otherwise. No version we forced them to play at those levels to abuse our D endlessly. Make the easy short throw and catch. All we forced the two best ever to accomplish to put up massive points on us.

They didn’t even have any other options. A WR room that made JuJu look like a big deal. Can you describe him as anything more than just average?

Pointing out how that happened to our best setup for the center of the D. Not going along with Rosie or his puppet fans that preach his beliefs on this. These same fans that believed we were contenders this season. With no LBing. Very light S room being carried by a second year undrafted kid from the small school.

So if you thought we were contenders this season? Don’t  care if it was even fueled by squeaking out wins each week to achieve 10-1. You need to rethink how? Can point to several areas. Coaching I’ve hammered home upmost. Our team clearly dropped notches from just last season even. Making it all the more glaringly obvious I believed. But if you thought we were legit contenders….with such a weak center of the D? Just here to point out the obvious reality here for you. Even with a very optimistic view on Dean, Slay and Bradberry.
