February 11, 20242 yr Couldn’t budge on half as much money for the S in his prime instead paying twice as much to watch Bradberry completely fall off the cliff declining from age. Pay one of the quality S. Trade for Queen. Let Slay and Bradberry walk instead. Actually be cheaper providing funds to help elsewhere. There is a whole other way of doing things. A whole other very sensible logic out there. Feel a need to break off from this slurped up bad Rosie logic. Not sure how so many have accepted the , for lack of a better term, brainwashing from Rosie.

This I see incase his agent thinks he is going to get $30 mil per season like some on here do. When he comes back down to reality, I'm sure a reasonable extension will be agreed upon. He is an elite pass rush specialist. The top pay is 34 mil to Bosa average annually. Reddick signed making 15 mil average. That’s a crazy huge divide.
February 11, 20242 yr Rosie Magic Contract usual situation here. Even on a fantastic contract signing deal getting Reddick for 15 mil per. But now we are faced with all the backloaded end of his contract. Cap wise overwhelmingly most of his pay is still ahead. Facing 21 mil cap hit in 2024. A bunch of money on the cap after his contract we still owe also. I haven’t read anybody even speaking about Reddick getting 30 mil. He’s performed at what can really only be described as elite and special levels. Most any other players or situations you’d usually be easily discussing that player getting top dollar. Doesn’t take being the best to usually get paid. Mostly more about timing and it just being that players turn to get paid. You know….considering the contracts only just keep rising at near insane levels.
February 11, 20242 yr We have a large cap hit on Reddick in 2024. The kind of direct hit you,No Mas, bash the Cowboys over suffering. But not even just that level Cowboy cap hit this year to absorb…all the dead money built in on purpose from the get go of writing his contract. Even such a great move and signing choosing and landing an elite pass rusher at half price we still have to face this contract philosophical issue over. We are stuck in a bad situation now…over such a fantastic steal of a FA signing. Talking best case scenario pretty much with Reddick. Played at a level to consider him contending for D player of the Year last year. Got that guy cheap. But now stuck facing so much of his cap money ahead. Kills Rosie’s leverage here. We are the ones that need to do something with him. We need to extend him to push his money even further to the future. Or facing having to lose such a quality talent. If only the problem was he was looking for 34 mil a season that the market price is set on. Could easily reason losing a player commanding so much money. But I haven’t heard he’s looking for anything like that. Clearly earned a raise over 15 mil per of his current contract.
February 11, 20242 yr Frankly thought Reddick really did us a huge favor by not making a massive ordeal this past season to receive a raise. Think it would have just been considered normal by most players to have done that. He’s a player at a point in his career to achieve his last big contract signing opportunity. So I can’t blame him at all at this point. Respect massively what he did playing for us sucking things up this last season. So now we have few choices with him here. Our leverage pretty much sucks. Best option is to let other teams negotiate with his agent to work out how much of a raise he needs to get here. We aren’t paying the obvious top market price to an elite player of 34 mil. Paying elite players top market price is in ways the easier contracts to negotiate. How much less than 34 mil we could pay him will be up to his options. He needs to test the market league wide. Only way he’ll be happy accepting whatever he ends up receiving. Why would he even just take hard negotiations only from Rosie to accept 24 mil a season? 10 mil less than top of his market at his position. I very seriously doubt Reddick views himself as anything less than elite. So our only chance is to hope no other team ponies up more than 25 mil for him. He has to accept 10 mil less than Bosa…or whatever the actual difference ends up to be…if that’s the best offer he receives. But can’t blame him for needing to explore all options before accepting that contract.
February 11, 20242 yr 25 mil is crazy huge money to make in a year. It only doesn’t seem that way in this situation. Elite NFL player money. That 24 mil is 10 mil less than the comparison same position player. In that setting 24 mil is cheap. I’d be blissful over ever receiving a 1 mil contract. But not remotely the discussion here.

Mahomes is still young and already earned consideration for the best player ever. Can’t get a higher bar of comparison than Mahomes. But clearly that day…Hurts was on fire and the bigger weapon. You can use historical stats and all that saying Mahomes is better than Hurts. What you can’t do is rewatch that SB with anybody else and convince them the difference in the Chiefs and Eagles that day was Mahomes over Hurts. Mahomes job was so incredibly easy. Easy passes to Kelce and JuJu wide open. They ran the same play to score two TDs we left the guy unguarded. Not even talking the WR gained a step on our defender. Nobody even attempted coverage. What Hurts did in that game was far from easy. He had to make the difficult spectacular happen. Hurts gave KC a free 7 points...Mahomes was flawless in his game management. Not close
February 12, 20242 yr 8 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: Mahomes was actually more what you’d call a game managing type QB. Just accurate on short quick passes. They had the knowledge from AR of just attacking the center of our D. Quick passing attack. Nullified our elite pass rush. Took advantage of our passing pass coverage anywhere near the line of scrimmage. What I would call the winning QB.
February 12, 20242 yr I love Jason Kelce so I’d keep him. But I’d trade the whole dang rest of the team for Mahomes. Best QB EVER! Not his best game but everyone KNEW they were going to win in OT BECAUSE of Mahomes.

Then don't complain if you can't find a team willing to pay.

I wouldn't be surprised either way...meaning could be none at his age and contract demand... plus having to throw in a draft pick to the Eagles... or you could find that one team always willing to overpay. Only takes one.

February 12, 20242 yr Checking out this LB Azeez Al-Shaair. Started with the Niners. Then was in Tenn. under our new LB coach. Has family in Philly. He signed for 1 year 5 mil last season. See this as pretty likely option.
February 12, 20242 yr Our LB coach has spent plenty of time with Zach Cunningham. He was very clearly our best LB this season. So expect his return as starter.
February 12, 20242 yr Well now its time (past time) to correct what went wrong in the locker room at the end of the season. I've seen some players wouldn't talk to Desai
February 12, 20242 yr 1 hour ago, cunninghamtheman said: He’s getting a big raise…guaranteed Yes... the size of the raise is the issue...let him go shop around for the best deal he can get in addition for that team to give us a 2nd rounder.
February 12, 20242 yr That's tough for the 49ers.. getting CMC to stay healthy all year, along with being very fortunate as a team in the injury department. Throwing out all that money and investing some draft picks... clearing that cap 7 years ago to be here now....and no trophy. Now with limited resources and the QB getting closer to having to get his big money.... that's a tough one not to win.
