Cam Jergens will have trouble calling out the different blocking schemes....shift left and shift right is very complicated. It's like a new sport and he didn't learn anything his first 2 seasons. I do agree we need to make sure we get some depth at DT though as Cox was very underrated the last few seasons with his ability both run stuffing and pass rushing... the stats weren't there, but he drew attention and ate up some snaps... helping everyone else. I like the schedule... like the additions both at coordinator and DB... should have a huge effect on the 3rd down conversions for the opponent. Getting Barkley to me signifies that they plan to run the ball...keeping decision making out of the QBs hands more. I think we can get to 12 wins this year without playing Detroit or SF. No he said he predicted the collapse last year and every other year something happened. Posting a win number is not a prediction of collapses,or whatever else

I think we can get to 12 wins this year without playing Detroit or SF. 12 was what I thought as well. The defense should give the offense more opportunities. Bark can take it to the house OR he can grind out 4 yards per down and we can waste the clock playing keep away.Mitchell called out AJ(for one play) HAHAHA. He better find his humility fast or he will get burned. He called AJ's route "trash". It's not like he faced the best in his college league,so AJ told him cool, now you need to walk the walk LOL. Handled well by AJ and a little friendly competition won't hurt either of them. DeJean has too much talent to sit,so will be interesting to see how he is used. He should be ready for week 1,but I don't want him rushed in. I thought it would be more than interesting to have him covering Watson. IDK if we will see that. Watson as experience, but the physical matchup with those 2 would be fun to watch. The rooks will have their "welcome to the NFL" moments
June 18, 20241 yr Author I'm also interested in how we approach the kick offs under the new rules. I personally don't like them, but whatever
June 18, 20241 yr Author BTW make no mistake,Bark can catch passes and I hope we utilize that asset to some extent. Still think we see Gains spotted in. I'm also looking forward to seeing Paris and or Ainias from the slot. Hurts needs to use the middle of the field. Something he is not too good at. But seeing the slot coming across in front of Hurts face, may get him an option he didn't have before. I like it when we start running crossing patterns from there, doing that many times, then from the same formation having the slot do a hip swing downfield. JJ was a master at this. I saw those qualities in Ainias, and while he is nowhere near the talent of JJ,it's something he can do well(in time). Getting the machine working is something a little tough with the new staffers. Getting them all on the same page can be challenging. But Moore came from a pass happy offense,so I hope we see more exploitation. We seriously have one of,if not the best receiving corps in the league as a whole
June 18, 20241 yr Author https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/depth/_/name/phi I Do agree with Ham that another SS for depth would be nice. Maybe 1 shakes free when the cuts come. Just a better 2 than what we have. I found it interesting that they have A Smith as the #2 outside. IMO he was the best SLOT WR in that draft, but they would know better than I,just found that curious. I suppose in a pinch he could be used as such, but that's a big ask from a slot guy

I imagine CGJ, Blankenship, Slay, the two rookies, Rodgers, Brown , Ringo and Maddox is going to be a pretty good secondary. Not sure in 2024 you need a label of SS or FS?

Think certain players definitely do fit those descriptives. Best case scenario are the players that can be more versatile. But I’m looking for one more S. Ceedy Duce and Milk Check haven’t really proven super durable. Guess we have Maddox filling in some. See if Sidney can come back looking effective this season.
June 18, 20241 yr I actually am pretty fine with the depth at DT. Tuipulotu and my boy Ojomo look ready to step up in my view. One other guy I as thinking could also contribute I’m forgetting off the top of my head. Been thinking that if something happens injury wise at the position think about recalling Fletch out of retirement.
June 18, 20241 yr Main thing at DT is just need Davis to get his fat butt with enough endurance to be a factor finally at the end of the season.

Who do you cut? I mean, you have to add a guy., so who loses their roster spot?
June 19, 20241 yr I assume, Slay, Ringo, Rodgers and the first pick on the outside... Blankenship, CGJ, DeJean, Brown, Maddox in the middle... that's 9. That's not even Jobe,Bradberry, or any of the other guys.

June 19, 20241 yr They did a ranking of off ball LB rooms. We came in 30th. Wohooo….that would be an improvement actually. SB here we come!!!!
