We are giving up the earliest of third rounders in the trade

Ehhh Miami should be decent enough... pick should be mid to late 80s

Anybody believe Ross, Parris, NGata or Ainias make the 53 man roster? Why?

As weird as it might come off…I think this trade makes it actually more likely we could keep Ainias on the 53 to protect him.

You thought we were already a top contender winning 12 games. That’s not what many people would think of a team clearly missing a starter.

Only because the bevy of WR's we got in none could make the move to become a starter. Injuries to many of them,ASmith just NOW starting to get a clue. Wilson Hurt,Paris hurt,Ross hurt

A run of the mill STARTING SLOT would be fine. Of course Dotson adds even more looks we can give since we can use these WR's in any configuration now. He is more than a run of the mill starting slot

He was drafted...he isn't going anywhere... the only question for this year was what was going to be the method we keep him...But we know we always end up keeping the draft picks for a year.

IMO Wilson(who shined) and ASmith who seemed lost at first is now ""getting it" They are the young future,or part of it. Both should stay unless they really suck. Wilson outplayed by boy as the hero of August,GL to defenses trying to cover us now

So ... why couldn't we be a 12 win team  before the trade?  We won 11 last year with that gauntlet of a schedule last year.

Yep this team should  be one game better, not 1 game worse. Why I put it out there. Zero reason not to go deep into the playoffs. if we stay healthy why can't we go to the SB again? Hurts can't fail. he would really have to TRY to

I stated 12 wins because Barkely should(in theory) have a career season, just HIM(if Hurts doesn't call his own number on audibles lol) I think the tush push is DOA now. We shouldn't need it. A regular QB sneak can work at times. DSmith in the "break out zone". I suspect he loses some targets to Dotson as AJ could as well. Goedert if used correctly will have a much better year than the BS we saw last year(play calling). Add to that Hurts had his best camp EVER. if you can't put this together and win 1 more game than last year with the collapse, then something is terribly wrong

The Dotson addition really will shake up defenses. IDK any team that can cover those 3 AND Goedert. Someone has to be open every pass play. The defense would have to have 4 stellar players outside, the slot CB and the S/LB on Goedert. I don't think that team exists this year

I feel great though, because I won the Nigerian lottery 3 times already this week 🤣

Those guys weren’t worthy of being starters before injury

Stashing him on IR would keep him from practicing. So that option wasn’t a good one. Will he be able to be stashed on the PS? Only 53 spots on the roster. We like to carry numbers in the trenches. So the math gets real tight on players that can’t contribute much. On a contending team! The decisions need to be more based on what’s best for this team…than GM ego. Pickett will be the backup QB because Rosie gave up what he did to bring him in. But we will be better off the less decisions are being made based on this.

Being the cynic I am i have to wonder why the Redskins would trade a #1 pick to a division rival.

Especially one who is still on his rookie contract.

Dotson!

12 win team is pretty special. We probably overachieved just slightly last season….before we didn’t achieve enough by losing to the Bucs. Don’t have a starter on the Oline and missing a starter at WR….isn’t the makings of a special 12 win team to me. Just really feels borderline disrespectful of not understanding what a very elite special players Kelce and Fletch were. Lost our best defender and pass rusher in Reddick. We have Lane talking about how he’s at the end of his career. Any player talking about how he thinks he has two or maybe three years left? Is at the end. Oline depth is a concern. Slay and Bradberry are over the hill. Both starting S are very questionable durability wise. Their talent isn’t anything fantastic either. I like gritty Blankenship. But he’s no all star…and seems to get banged up routinely. He’s not nearly good enough to be playing injured and be a great player. Ceedy takes bad angles and isn’t a quality tackler. Kind of tough to have those weaknesses playing the job of S. I’d argue the top things I’d want out of my S are good angle of pursuit and reliably solid tackler. Next might just be his other area of concern of being able to suit up each week. Our off ball LBs aren’t a strength of this team. Our pass rush isn’t as good without blitzing. Our run D I believe is suspect. Learning under new coordinators takes time. So players new to a system..plus relying on some of these young players to the NFL. I expect some bumps in the road.

They got all new people in  coaches to FO. They didn’t draft him.

The Commanders clearly have been making moves towards building their new future…which is bright. Got rid of Chase Young and Montez Sweat too. They have a new vision.

Just answering the question. I personally rather leave this to offseason talk. Season is upon us. I’m more focused on rooting for my team and being optimistic going forward really. Just wishing for everything to work out as close to the optimistic points of view as possible all across the board.

Dotson was born in Newark. Went to Penn St. Been training with AJ in the summer. We have plenty of knowledge and understanding about this player addition. Should be able to put him in positions to succeed.

Dotson has a little time to digest the playbook here some. Think we can get him pretty decently involved early on. Get him right away running some of these YAC Creation plays.

Do you think A Smith will be a straight cut?    Whatever spin you want to put on it...  we all know there isn't a chance the Eagles let him get poached.

The new rules make it easier... to be able to put vets on the PS,  the ability to have a few PS guys protected each week etc .  Putting him on IR... so what... he can absolutely have all of next offseason to practice.

What " should" be priority...  come on, we all know that differs from reality.

Only reason he gets outright cut.... is of they don't see anything special in his movement.   Dropping balls can be corrected,  you can learn plays.  But he is supposed to have some above average movement ability... if they don't see it... that is the reason they would just cut him.

Dallas won 12 ... they are by far... NOT SPECIAL
