We all understand…Chip left you…

I championed him....by mentioning Roob and the media's bringing up him using a remote control car to simulate motion during the OTAs where offense couldn't go against defense.

I can see where that translates to where I was thinking Lombardi,  Shula,  Walsh, Parcells,  Gibbs or  Chip as the best of all time... very easy transition there!

I just didn't grow up in a world where you couldn't comment...good or bad about things....didn't realize it has to be all good or all bad?

DC around the league seem to have a a set game plan for Hurts coming into the season. Hurts going to have to show he can beat the blitz and be a better passer to silence them…. This Eagles team has struggled over the last couple season when the ground game gets shutdown and we are forced to lean on the pass

BG...  while the rest of us realize that actual football people and not you made these specific statements...   you will feel the wrath now that you triggered Ham.

Especially "QB talent wise he will come up short, but his intangibles elevate him to a #2"   or " after paying him, they realize they will have to surround him with elite talent "

Oh boy.... here it comes!!!

Keep reading the next article below that one...  " while Trent Williams and CMC are the standard, the executives felt the Eagles had a better OL and core of receivers. The QB was even with them being rated 11 and 13.

Wow....  the triggers I'm seeing here...lol

Was this ever up for debate lol SF OL is terrible it’s basically Trent Williams and that’s it even SF fans will tell you that.

We act like our OL is doomed if we lose Lane or Mialata etc. but we still have 2-3 pro bowl caliber guys on our OL most teams don’t have that luxury

So let me ask your opinion.  What's the bigger thing at the moment as far as impacting SF as a contender.....the Williams/ Aiyuk situations....or their decisions about their PS and rounding out there roster.

Ham already was angry at GB because apparently GB already blamed Hurts for the loss in this upcoming NFC title game vs SF.  I didn't realize SF was already in?

Williams ...holding out....at his age...  incase anything happens there... idk how automatic SF is.   Can they stay clean of injury luck 3 years in a row? Especially with these older guys?

For those waiting on the edge of their seats...

A few guys signing to the PS so far...

C Dylan McMahon

OL  Nick Gates   ... expected to be elevated to the game day roster week 1

TE  E.J. Jenkins

S  Andre Sam

plus the automatic international exception OT Laekin Vakalhi

I’m not seeing how the AJ contract is so glaringly better than the Sun God’s contract

So, just had a few minutes to look while waiting on a call here...  since I showed you the real numbers breakdown as to why AJ and St Brown's #s show favorable to the Eagles cap wise...

Here is the ideal comparison   same draft, same time extension... Jaylen Waddle and Devonta Smith

The novice looks at ....  Waddle 3 years $28 mil per

Smith  3 years $25 mil per.

Should see $9 mil more cap hit total for Waddle vs Smith.    I'll stay away from who is supposed to be a better WR, I'll just specifically talk contracts... only how the contracts are written.

Waddle here:

   https://overthecap.com/player/jaylen-waddle/9470

Smith here:

 https://overthecap.com/player/devonta-smith/9474

So we understand that Waddle was drafted first so 2024 and 2025, the last years of the rookie deals ... he was going to have a slightly higher cap hit, we can skip that, and just go to the years 2026-2028 of the extensions

Smith = $45.5 mil total      .... Waddle = $82.7 mil total

$37.2 more of a cap hit for Waddle on his extension that shows it should be a total of only $9 mil

Williams dude is likely the best T in football he can go 1 on 1 with anyone in the league the premier pass rusher…. Him not playing or holding out would crush SF.

Having Williams who can be left alone while you move the other OL guys around to double team and give help is huge… now you have to worry about one more position.

Aiyuk hurts sure but not like SF doesnt have other weapons CMC, Deebo, Kittle

Another aspect for Williams would be the running lanes behind him how much does that effect CMC gotta feel pretty confident when your running behind big Trent on the outside

The other aspect of SF that has to be accounted for is Purdy he played clean football last year similar to Hurts in 2022…. But if Purdy has issue with ball security could really derail SF.

Id say it’s a fairly safe bet that SF ends up hitting a SB hangover this coming season not sure I see them getting back to the NFC championship game this year

But No Mas... Smith shows a $35.7 mil cap hit in a void year 2029!!!   Right, lets see how that works in the Eagles favor.

2 principles..... 1 = rolling cap        2 = cap inflation

1 Rolling cap... if you fast forward to 2029... there is ZERO difference on the 2029 cap if Smith plays until 2028... regardless of how Smith's cap hits go.   If he has a low cap hit one year, then the Eagles have that cap space to carry forward to the next, if he has a high cap hit one year, then they have less to carry forward.

Easy example to use are your taxes.  By April of the following year it all has to be reconciled.  If your tax debt was 10000 and you pay 2000, then you owe 8000 in April.   If you paid 8000, then you owe 2000 in April.  If you paid 12000, then you get 2000 back.  Either way it comes out to where you paid 10000.

Rolling cap makes it all a wash at the end.

2.  Cap inflation     ... you look at the history of the salary cap right here:

https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1761087291181732081

You can see how the cap goes up.  Every 5 years its pretty significant

2014  = $133 mil       2019 = $188.2 mil       2024 = $255.4 mil

You see the cap goes up 41% from 2014 to 2019 and 36 % from 2019 to 2024.    Lets slow the increase down to 31% for the next 5 years (very conservative #)

That would make the cap in 2029  at $334.6 mil.

So you can see, the wash of the carry forward since the league started using the rolling cap.... and

where a $35.7 mil cap hit now leaves only $154.5 mil of cap space in 2024  vs

$35.7 mil void year cap hit leaves $298.9 mil of cap space in 2029.

That's $144.4 mil difference in the effect of the cap hit as far as " handcuffing" anything the Eagles want  to do.    Huge difference in flexibility.

All this contract stuff, contrary to what some are trying to say... is a function that works by itself.    The Dolphins and Eagles were in the exact same position with their 2021 1st round draft picks at WR.   Both were going into year 4, and received extensions until 2028... with void years in 2029.     BTW, I didn't even show that Waddle has over a $9 mil cap hit on his void year in 2029.

Both teams wrote contracts for these WRs that has absolutely zero to do with anything else except extending these WRs to 2028.   Has nothing to do with their ability to draft, how they feel about LB or S, who they hire as coach, how much any of the fans like their GMs... what food they serve in the cafeteria, what color the toilets are in the locker rooms.... None of that....

THIS IS ONLY ABOUT HOW THE CONTRACTS ARE WRITTEN... ON AN ISLAND BY ITSELF, BECAUSE THAT IS HOW IT FUNCTIONS!     Both teams had a choice how to write their deals. Both wrote them differently.  The Eagles way is giving them more flexibility along the way from 2026 to 2029.

But... to further compare Miami WRs to Eagles WRS....   Hill will have a combined cap hit of over $111 mil from 2024-26.      AJ has a combined cap hit of less than $53 mil

to top it off... Hill has a $12 mil void year in 2027, where he won't even be playing   ... AJ has a $22 mil cap hit.

$58 mil difference for these next 3 years....

Then AJ has another 3 years left which costs the Eagles only $76 mil more than it will cost Miami... NOT to have Hill!

AJ.... 6 years $132.5 mil   .... vs   Hill 3 years  $123.9 mil      We get AJ Brown.... 3  more years for only $8.6 mil more of future 2027 to 2029 #s.

Again, this has nothing to do with any other aspect other than how a contract is written... the choice the team makes independently of anything else!

1.  Miami wasn't forced to write their deal this way because it's more humid in Florida.

2.  This doesn't help the Eagles select LBs or S any better or worse!

THIS IS ISOLATED CHOICE  OF A METHOD OF HOW TO WRITE CONTRACTS.... THATS IT!

I'm not worried about Jurgens.  He was a pro bowl alternate at RG....moving to his more natural position.

The 2 issues that we should be concerned about..  Kelce played like 9 years without missing a game....how available will Jurgens be.   And then what happens at RG.. do we get play as good as Jurgens was at RG.

So ....1.  Durability at C.     And 2. Level of play at RG.

Ham=panic mode due to DOWNGRADE at C lol
