But in this situation we are talking about a very perennial contending team. Being All In and paying up on a player. Not talking about spending tons of future cap so the team can win four games. Being so capped out after a four win season with a team full of so many older vets….that takes a combination of mismanagement of player choice along with contractual failures.

They waited too long signing Christian McCaffrey? By far highest paid RB. Did they go All In trading to bring in McCaffrey from Carolina? Or lowball trading for such an elite player with only a third round pick? No wait….that was us. 

They’re terrible because they had a hard time signing an elite LB…but Rosie’s brilliant because he just didn’t even sign a much much cheaper quality LB we had he lost. Replaced him at least with…with…ughhh Miles Jack who was getting ready to start his plumbing career. Nicholas Morrow. Or how about how he failed to retain CGJ over a few bucks? Didn’t sign him late…just walked away from finishing the deal even. Produced the 31st ranked pass D. Brilliant contract work!

Trent is still the best Oline in the league. Rosie got bent over backwards with Peters years after he was performing at a high level.

We went 10-1,controlled and our own destiny. We WERE the best in the league,then the wheels fell off,so yeah were the best in the league. I'm not getting into the collapse BS,but how many teams would love the start the year at 10-1?

What is your version you are pretending to believe and have knowledge about here? Just for me to be clear with what you’re even trying to say. That the Niners offered 26 mil back in April but 27 would have got Aiyuck to sign right away? But the thirty it took him weeks to agree on was held up by what?

Squeezing out wins first half of the season doesn’t make you the best. In fact that’s exactly what was the issue. I knew it. Hurts knew it. Our whole team knew it. You bought into the hype. It was fantastic they made 10-1 happen.

Of course a team that’s been contending for so many straight years is tight on the cap. They haven spent as much future cap as we have. Wasn’t even that close before the Aiyuck payday. We have what 6 mil in 2025 cap room? With starters on one year deals.
