Rooney rule

For 3 teams though 😂 lot of other options to talk with to get around the Rooney rule

Nope and why I was looking forward to seeing the next step up,but he went backwards

Or stayed the same....just that expectations increased.... perhaps the 50-50 balls that he threw up weren't there this year...the opponents were better etc.

I guess my point...what was it about 2022 specifically in his play...just his play...that you think was so much better than 2023?   Other than say turnovers and he ran better?   Did he seem to read defenses or make better throws in 2022?   I didn't see it.   I'm not talking team results or stats...I'm talking about the actual play. Other than running better and not turning it over...I didn't see anything better from Hurts in 2022 than 2023.

We have some young guys that played alright Brown is the first that comes to mind and obviously Blankenship though one was always getting hurt and the other tore his ACL late in the year which sucks.

We also have Ringo and don’t we have some other young CB that was suspended all year from like the Colts who highly regarded.

Ringo is ready to take over. Ricks can also be a piece. Blankenship obviously a building block. We still could take three straight DBs to start the draft and it not be a bad idea.

Think he only did Zoom meetings even

Has Brian Johnson actually even gone to have a real in person interview yet?

This is the way of the world nowadays lol pretty sure every coaching interview I seen started with them doing zoom calls…

No clue did say it was unlikely he gets hired as a HC but the possibility isn’t zero either I’d say like 2-3% lmao 😂

I think the Lions have a real shot to take out the Niners. Especially if Deebo can’t suit up.

the others need to prove it

Brown was playing really well down the stretch for us until he tore his ACL…. I mean as well as he could for a terrible D unit lol…. Didn’t he even have like a huge 99 yard pick 6 v AZ before tearing his ACL v NY

maybe because Slay

I heard something about Slay dealing with a back injury good chunk of the year.

I don’t think Slay is going to be a top cover guy anymore but think he can still give us another good year or two if he can get healthy

I didn’t see it that way. He blew his assignment plenty. But came up to make hits at times also. Don’t see him as becoming a top two level starting S. He didn’t show well in coverage in the slot.

Just read an article from the weekend... saying that in person interviews couldn't happen until today.

Bellicheat and Harbaugh have been in person.

Yeah that's 1 guy, well 2 with Blank, but there are many spaces to fill now

We are bare stated before our D needs a complete overhaul…

Wasn’t brown playing in the slot a ton not even his natural position…. And slot isn’t even a easy position for a veteran let alone a rookie on a bad defense of unit

I thought he fell over the cliff about week 5 last season(2022). But he is a good mentor for our young DBs.

Not to mention then switching DC on a rookie player being asked to do something likely different from what Desai was doing. Think Brown showed plenty of flashes for the situation he was tossed into

What is his natural position? Like a SS type. He doesn’t have enough speed for many S roles. Doesn’t cover well enough for many S roles.

Expectations should be very mild for Sidney next season. New D and he’s not going to be on the ball while recovering from his ACL.

He ran a 4.4 by comparison Reed Blankenship ran a 4.5… Could being a rookie and confused by what exactly he was being asked to do have effected his playing speed having to hesitate and think about stuff…

Then on top of all that switching DC AGAIN mid season and likely being asked to do other things even the vets were talking about how it was on them with the switch

Bears want to interview Marcus Brady for their OC job

Yeah he sure didn’t look like a 4.4 guy

He looked plenty fast enough on that 99 yard return and some other plays this season.

Ham just trying to do the slow build up of Howie making a bad pick.    The long slow torture route for us...  just say Dax, Hamilton or the other guy..then move on.   But here come the multiple post buildup to that... fire Howie...etc.

Really when you look at this Eagles defense you can make the case the only real young player we have is Carter.

Blankenship maybe but how often was this guy getting hurt can we even truly rely on him? Sweat is solid end wouldnt say he is a great end

We have some good older guys Reddick but he is over 30 already.

Davis has been a disappointment
