September 7, 20242 yr The theme....we won despite Hurts. No big deal... but just stop with the really bad decisions. 5th year...situational awareness needs to be there now. Learn and move on. Going to be a fun season.
September 7, 20242 yr Baun balled out! Barkley is the freaking man! Devonte Smith - sweet hands Turnovers - NOT good! OC - pretty darn good first game I’m really excited the Eagles win the first game ever in Brazil! Freaking AWESOME!
September 7, 20242 yr Hey - our O wasn't too predictable! Sloppy at times, but it's the 1st game. Secondary much improved, gave up too many runs up the middle.
September 7, 20242 yr A breath of fresh air having some fire power at LB with the addition of Baun. Also a bonus with him being able to play inside as well as edge.

September 7, 20242 yr This has got to stop! This is not hating. This is an obvious observation and improvement is necessary if this is going to be a championship team. You can NOT give the other team more opportunities to score. https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2024/9/7/24238173/eagles-news-jalen-hurts-needs-smarter-football-quarterback-qb-philadelphia-packers-game-win Quote But, dang, he’s really got to stop throwing interceptions. Every quarterback is going to throw some. It’s going to happen. But both INTs Friday night were just pointless throws and way too closely resembled the forced INTs of last year, when he shared the NFL lead with 15 interceptions. Just throws into traffic with no chance of succeeding. The first one he just lofted up into a crowd of four Packers. The second one at the Packers’ 14 – with the Eagles needing a field goal for an eight-point lead – he tried to force to A.J. Brown in the end zone, where everything is condensed and guys don’t stay open very long. This is Year 5 for Hurts, and he’s now got 17 interceptions in 18 games since opening day last year after throwing just six in 2022. I get that it’s a new offense that he’s still learning, but this is just basic Quarterback 101 stuff. He’s got to be smarter with the football.

September 7, 20242 yr D might not have been perfect yesterday but they might honestly be the reason we won…. How different is that game if GB scores TDs on both our early turnovers to go up 14-0 instead of only be up 6
September 7, 20242 yr I was expecting so sloppy play though we the field conditions didn’t help much either. But as I said last year we have to clean it up not going to win many games when we have 3+ turnovers
September 7, 20242 yr This is Year 5 for Hurts, and he’s now got 17 interceptions in 18 games since opening day last year after throwing just six in 2022. wow this is kind of staggering

The first one last night was I think just a good play by the DB but the second? In that situation that’s just unacceptable. It’s early days but that felt a lot like Jalen though 11 games last year. Some good plays to bail him out of some awful plays.
September 7, 20242 yr Yeah, the ints can't continue if they wanna go to the SB AND they were DUMB Picks

Was no need for that throw on the first drive

September 7, 20242 yr Another thing I noticed didn’t seem like we were getting the push we have been in previous seasons with the tush push maybe it was just GB defending it well but they had a stop on one and the other one I seen was almost stopped if not for a late surge and push from Barkley to help get Hurts over the 1st down mark

More bonehead plays.Very disappointing. Bark was most of the offense. If not for him we lose. Hurts looked like a college kid(again)
September 7, 20242 yr Author Hurts played better when he was looking for the big check, now that he has it, his play fell off the map. Saw some nice, new, hungry faces, that was the good part. I'm still a bit astounded that Hurts progression seems to have stopped. If this is his ceiling we're not going far. Should be another presser of "we need to do better". Alot of nice things on D. Will take time to put it all together, but they made some nice plays(and a few stinkers, but it's week 1 and some new cogs in the machine ). I'm glad we won. Lucky for us Love didn't look good either. Both QB's played very bad. Bark ripped it up.26 is the hot jersey now as it should be. Hurts tried to duplicate last years collapse but the team around him wouldn't let him. Hurts learning curve disappeared like Houdini. After blaming Kelce for "stunting his growth",he used his last excuse. Just awful field presence. There is zero way to defend how bad he was in year 5

September 7, 20242 yr Author The cleat change guy was busy yesterday LOL. Must have been 1/2" inch of turf with a cardboard base

I didn't even realize about " Peacock " ...we had the local station carry the game. Just curious as to why the need to watch a 3am replay...lol
