But it's a new RPO .. totally different under Moore...  lol jk

Never stated the RPO was new said Moore has brought lot of his own stuff here that I like. Can’t control the play style of the QB but I can see the difference in the designed play calls this year v last year

You run block…,but just can’t get downfield on it. I don’t know what these Oline were thinking on these plays. What was even the point of Lane getting upfield like he did? There was no point…or reason for it even.

It's totally new O

What are you seeing different?   Other than a guy in motion?

I'm just curious as a fan here.... and I'm repeating what everyone is saying all over the media.  So I'm just curious as to what you guys see different?

I did just recently learn that the NFL only allows for the OL to be 1 yard up field while in college they allow for 3 yards when it comes to the RPOs.

But we have found far more success running and passing when we aren’t using the RPOs

I see QB running.... RPO to a short pass... the same handoffs...just to a better RB.    The same issue with if the 1st read is covered, the QB seems to panic and look to leave the pocket.

We see the QB locked on a guy and not see guys that are wide open in the route.

The same stuff.... that's what they are saying... so while I do agree with them, just curious as to what you guys we different...other than more motion?

If you has to guess one reason we run RPOs ...  what would that be?

Incomplete on 4th means no points,  no stopping the clock.... or whatever is important to you... you throw an Incomplete pass on 4th down it does nothing for your cause.

Third down run winds the clock down. A field goal didn’t prove to win things for us. Difference in three versus six didn’t win us the game.

Correct... I heard the interview while you are " quoting " .. explanation made perfect sense.  Coach talks last... he gets a feel for the room. Part of the job is knowing when to speak,  what to say....and when to say nothing.

Siri has nothing good to add to this team ever it appears

Enlighten us....I'll start.... # 1. A guy goes in motion....  ok... you take it from here...

plenty of motion. Different route combinations. The play is getting called earlier. Smitty has been playing the slot fairly good amount.

You get the play called earlier and it use motion that helps any QB read a D….if you’re interested in anything but specifically Hurts Hating that is.

That’s the reason it didn’t spread across the usage on the NFL all along. But all these players should be well aware of this fact.

Explain why an incomplete pass on 4th would be good?

They were showing 9 in the box... we complain when they just do nothing... we have a play call that worked with the QB laying a pillow right in there ...and Barkley drops it.

There is a point where we have to blame the players.    That is what Sirianni was hinting was the post game speech by Hurts... players being accountable knowing that their coach was going to have to take all the $h@t because of their mistakes.

Just catch the ball....game over.

Most every team in the league runs RPOs

I’m more curious as to what you are expecting?

Motion alone in its own right is huge change from last year and the top O around the league from SF/LA/Miami/ hell even KC use it.

We have seen under center sets something we have not done under Siri either.

But at the end of the day no team then Runs a new offense they all run the same concepts just how the QB decides to attack it.

Whatever makes you feel good.  I don't really care... my thing is...catch the ball.  Nothing Siri says or Hurts says should have effect on Barkley catching that pass.

Siri declined the penalty just moments earlier realizing the main objective was run the clock. Third down…when they’ve exhausted all TOs….was especially the time to run the ball.

Mmmmm yes they all use it to varying levels…. Not sure the rate we ran it last year but Moore in LA wasn’t a huge RPO guy nor was he in Dallas

My thing is get a real quality HC in here. Don’t go for it on fourth and three earlier. That was dumb.

So far this season (arrived after additional crunching in the database), offenses in the NFL are averaging 6.5 yards per play on RPOs. That matches the overall average of the San Francisco 49ers offense. I know this is an overly simplistic way to think about it, but the typical team turns into the 49ers offense when it runs an RPO.

The average on non-RPO plays in the league in 2023 is 5.1 yards.

*note last years stats

Of course…catch the pass. But the whole point of coaching is making the decisions based on if it works…and if it doesn’t. The clock was more the opponent than the score at that point. Run the ball…killing the clock. Could have iced the game in the ground even.

Well I agree a guy goes in motion...doesn't do as much for me as it does for you guys, especially hearing where Kelce wasn't a fan of motion.

I'm not seeing much with the QB under center?

But what would I expect...

Formations,  progressions, tempo, play action, roll-outs,  .. different route concepts, maybe some plays that I have seemed to miss with the QB under center?    Maybe seeing more where the QB completely changes the play...moving guys around?

Again... while I agree with it...I'm just repeating what a lot of media are saying.

Just curious.. is there a way we can see how many times Hurts was under center and didn't run a tush push?

Not quick enough obviously

So you were ok losing a yard on 3rd down instead of going for the win?  To me...too much time left. Would still be a minute left... I prefer giving both units a chance to win the game.  Now if it going to run the clock down to where they had like 20 seconds...go ahead.  Run and kick to go up 6 there.

You could even just see the dumb look on the Oline faces after they charged upfield for no reason. Just didn’t even make sense.
