I prefer giving both units a chance to win the game. Now if it going to run the clock down to where they had like 20 seconds...go ahead. Run and kick to go up 6 there. There wasn’t a need to kick, run the ball kill the clock. If you want to throw…do it on fourth down when the clock would stop anyway.
September 18, 20242 yr Why did Siri decline the penalty on the Falcons there near the end in the first place?

The OL is under the assumption it will be a run play they block as if it is a run when the NFL only allows for 1 yard makes it tough on the OL

The clock was more the opponent than the score at that point. Run the ball…killing the clock. Could have iced the game in the ground even. Siri said in the same interview....if Barkley was covered that Hurts would have taken a short sack and the clock would have kept running. Your boy as each QB should...had the decision in his hands... and IMO he made the correct one and a beautiful pass. I agree 💯 with the concept... vs 9 in the box, a run wasn’t going to work, run play outside that if it's there, you take it... otherwise have the QB go down to keep the clock moving. Part of the reason I believe Hurts felt the need to speak...he ultimately made the decision trusting Barkley... it didn't work, and he knows the coach is going to take all the crap for it. Ultimately could be good for the team as far as locker room etc... but still need on the field stuff to be corrected.
September 18, 20242 yr He’s just a CEO coach that doesn’t need to speak after the game because his player leader did it for him. A CEO coach there not for the D,O or ST…just to make decisions. He’s been making bad decisions. So the whole idea is pretty stupid.

September 18, 20242 yr Just now, cunninghamtheman said: Everybody knows these facts. So you run block and engage…but no need to go downfield. This is known. Yes because if your an OL your thinking of 1 yard on a run play lol…. Come on you sound stupid what do you want the OL to do oh i can’t block nobody let me just sit here doing nothing no you go block someone If the ball is handed off and Jurguens is 5 yards down field hitting a LB that hole likely pretty damn huge then nobody is complaining when that happens on the RPO

Are you saying that you would prefer only being up 3... with ATL starting on their 13.... vs being up 6... with ATL starting on their 30?
September 18, 20242 yr "The way we’ve handled it in the past is by having a tag that tells the linemen not to go downfield right away. You kinda just shuffle and sit on the double teams and wait for a second before climbing. Downside of that is that if it gets handed off you don’t get much movement as a result.” Quote right from Kelce and the same fans that want guys to shuffle and sit will be the same ones complaining about our run blocking

Now you only need one more and game over. So you understand …as well as the CEO coach understood making them use TOs and kill clock was everything the series just before he did the opposite. Decline the penalty. Force them to use a TO on the third down we’d convert. So they didn’t have enough TOs. Then knowing we’ll run we still kept pick up solid yardage. Third down convert…TO. First down run…TO. Second down run ….TO. Now they’re out of TOs…the whole goal of declining the penalty. So third down run it….the clock couldn’t be stopped. Maybe even iced the game right there on the ground the way things were going.

His 2nd option would have been to run and kill the clock. Your boy made his decision... best QB in franchise history should have that responsibility... and it seems like I'm the one backing him and your not? It's ironic.

Earned that job by week 18 last season not having the team ready to play …AT ALL. Then risked his top players on the most injury prone field league wide. Resulted in AJ getting injured. Hurts getting injured. Sidney still isn’t back from his injury that day. Brilliant! He’s qualified to sell drinks on the Titanic…is about it.

Hurts was given the play... where if Barkley was covered...he was not going to throw the ball away...he was going to run and take a short sack if needed. It was a safe play... he made the correct decision. He said he would do it again... took ownership of the decision and apparently the INT at the end that wasn't necessary. That's why Siri didn't want to add anything after the game. They all know what's up. He said similar to the Jalen Carter situation ... " we keep those things in house"

A real CEO coach would have made it very clear to Mooore…we are running the ball on third down. Going for it on fourth down if we don’t make it.
