I think successful people understand the environment.   That there are things you can't force.   There are fundamentals that won't change.  In the modern football game... you will have to convert 3rd downs vs good teams in late January and February... those teams will not be physically dominated ... you will need to pass the ball when it matters.

3rd down is the most important down. I just completely understand how completely different converting on third down is based on the situation. 3rd and short Hurts has been near automatic.

Seems like even you, No Mas, even understanding the symbiotic relationship between run and pass. In situations a D is conflicted it makes any O have drastically higher odds of success.

So in February in strong winds with a mix of sleet and snow…you still just focused on everything depends on your passing game?

But my view on our team that has lead to great success as our main identity is: physical. Look at how we’ve been built for years. But let’s just stay with this year’s squad. Think you maybe got old and forgot the actual physical aspects of playing the game. Pick any level or time in football…the main constant has been physically whooping the guy across from you leading to success. This isn’t some select 10 teams pulled out over the last decade small sample.

No Mas your Hurts Hate leads you to always one answer to spin anything against our leader. So running the ball you try and just state is because the QB sucks. But you are blinded. This team has been built as a physical tough gritty team. So why are you trying to not use that and insist on trying to be a finesse soft team?

At its most fundamental basic…no genius or smartest guy in the room talk here….football is four quarters against the man across from you. Who’s going to win early and who going to be gassed and done at the end? Just super simple idea by me that if we make sure to focus on hard working dedicated physical players…let’s utilize and maximize that.
No rocket science or any remotely debatable grey area in this approach. Take the 6’8” moving mountain you invested and paid top dollar prioritizing and use him to attack. Maul defenders!

I believe in the process of a guy that’s getting beat up and just got hit in the mouth and bruised his thigh….isn’t nearly as effective player.

Sure our monster Oline are good at pass blocking as well. But them going backwards trying to hold off defenders wears our guys out more than theirs.

I’ll take to early sweeps straight at our opponents great finesse cover CB for no gain. Make that guy that doesn’t want to tackle get involved in physical football. See how twitchy he moves limping.

Instead of allowing the defender to gain speed and power attacking us….attack him and force him to deal with trying to expend his energy just trying to hold up against our guys. Pretty much name whichever Oline you want to apply this to on our team. Just the simple results over four quarters after anybody expends themselves trying to hold up against our biggest strongest athletes on the planet.
These are obvious time tested proven results. That any guy expending his strength just to try and hold up against such unstoppable forces is going to expend his energy…plus most of the time suffer bodily harm.

So is it just cover up some Hurts Hater flaws in our leader we need to attack and be physical(like Hurts hate tries to spin)? Or is it the more obvious reflection of a city and team built and designed that way?

Mailata, Dickerson, Becton, Lane, AJ, our TEs our QB….these guys aren’t just great athletically talented players. Purposefully targeted team philosophy built based on being hard working physically superior.

Really if you look at the photo I linked of pictures of our team. Sidney Brown in that photo with Hurts and Ceedy. Guys are all blessed with whatever talents they possess. NFL guys are all just freaks…not just Myles Garrett. Sidney will have his issues and weaknesses. All players will. But a hard worker that commits to being his best I will ride with anytime. I’m sure he’ll be out of position at times…but when he gets the opportunity think he’s going to get it done. Very optimistic with seeing Sidney’s return. I’ve believed and understood we are weak and poor tackling team up the middle. He can make a difference.

But this whole logic of mine to zig while the league is zagging fits are team design and personnel. We are built to be that team that gives all opponents the matchup different issues of physicality not finesse as much.

So I don’t even see this as me being on an island alone in this thinking…exactly what Rosie has been striving for. Choosing players always comes with risk. But think him and I agree on the hard working dedicated choices are much less the bad decisions.

Picking the elite player is always the actual right decision. But choosing the guys that have those quality intangibles is much more reliable.

True story...

Wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a stat like the SB winning team hasn’t P in the second quarter or something….on a prime time games throughout the season.

Check on this one" SB teams that can't score in the first 1/4"

Absolutely the symbiotic balance that creates conflict with defenders

You gotta execute to create a positive symbiotic balance

Exactly why you have thought like you have through the collapse and this season.  You are missing so many of the actual details that make things work for teams.

Just assemble as many talented individuals as you can makes the best team.

You weren’t having the understanding that the players and myself were having while 10-1. An understanding of just how little future the oversimplified O had. That talented guys can make plays and overcome….but it’s infinitely harder when DCs and pro players are studying prepping and watching how other top minds of football go about things.

QB1 is a POS and sucks at QB
