October 26, 20242 yr Thing is that’s key here is it’s a completely new O under Moore. This stuff doesn’t just happen to perfection after one joint practice and no PS games played. There are positives and negatives from choosing to not play your guys in the PS. They aren’t getting injured….but clearly aren’t fast tracking to accelerate the learning curve with the new O.

That’s this teams path to be ready to compete at the end. All about how far we can get installing and adapting/customizing Moore’s scheme come the pressure games at the end of the season…hopefully postseason.

So week one stats and Saquan’s day mean practically zilch for this year’s team. How they’re playing at the end is really all that’s important.

This is where we have a serious conflict of interest in the coaching ranks going on though. It’s just not what’s best for Siri in a multitude of ways to try and facilitate Moore’s and Hurts success. By taking the lumps and rough patches that always come with developing, progressing that you need to suffer to speed up the learning process as fast as possible …that’s not good for Siri. He just wants to win right now as his only vision and goal….no longer term strategy. Moore only has this single season to get it done. So the moore Hurts and the O proves success? That’s just all the more d@mn1ng of the job performance and quality of Siri.
October 26, 20242 yr The naive might be kidding themselves into believing Siri ever had a shot at keeping his job after this season. That if he empowered and helped Moore that he could obtain postseason success….as a means to keep his job. But I clearly am convinced Rosie/Lurie just didn’t want to force a poor HC hire in a bad cycle. Always comes back on you the number of coaches you hire and any bad decisions of choosing a HC you fire without a second season. We just saw how Rosie screwed up our DC situation we already had all setup like it’s almost impossible to line up like we had last season. I don’t think for one second Desai was ever any long term hire thinking he was the answer. He was available and fit the mold of D personnel being similar to Fangio. One year place holder….that they even undercut with Patricia. See any similarities? In what universe was it in Patricia’s self interest to help Desai succeed? I just don’t doubt at all Patricia was a main force of sabotage to Rosie to tear down Desai’s performance. But Patricia wasn’t HC in control of the team over Desai. Siri is actually in position to do more than just try and point out flaws with Moore. Frankly I’m including Hurts too. Siri’s best excuse for many shortcomings is very clearly blame it on the young QB. Which first year as a HC is very legit reason of limiting what any O minded coach dreams of unleashing. Hurts was far from a seasoned NFL ready QB.
October 26, 20242 yr So if Hurts is the problem and not Siri…like it seems the majority here preach….who’s the other QB that you’ve witnessed Siri get thriving? Was Minshew at his best we’ve seen from him? Mariota? Pickett? Draft picks that looked so bad they didn’t even get protected on the roster. But yet found a home elsewhere. Mariota’s had some quality moments in his career to where people believed he could succeed. Looked absolutely terrible here. Looked like a bad backup QB option. If it’s actually a Hurts problem only….you can’t explain why it’s been every single QB that’s been here under Siri. Minshew and Mariota have looked much better at times in their careers. So why wouldn’t it be the obvious conclusion that just like every single other QB under Siri here that Hurts also would be better under a decent O HC?
October 26, 20242 yr Besides QB…who are we pointing to as thriving because of Siri? Maybe could give credit for Swift….but really underutilized his receiving abilties. Personally I think really it was more Swift just actually being healthy. He forced Sanders to change his rushing style because it was glaringly evident Siri was not a fan of Miles. Which OK….Sanders adapted and thrived. Yet had a real strong rookie season receiving. That completely disappeared under Siri. Over 500 yards in his freaking rookie season catching passes. He only played really one season in college because he was behind Saquan. That’s impressive….beyond a player that might be capable of learning and being coached up to be a receiving back. A guy that didn’t get numerous years and experience in college….plus played in an O that didn’t throw to the RB hardly. Over 500 yards receiving for an unpolished inexperienced player. Wasn’t under Siri but Pedey it must be noted. Siri came in favoring his pick Gainwell. Took Sanders out for Gainwell on passing situations. Gainwell’s by far best season receiving was 253 yards. Even anybody bad at math sees he only can accomplish half of what Sanders did his rookie season. Sanders not the best blocker…I concede that. But Gainwell I wouldn’t call a good blocking back. In what universe is it doing a good job by a coach to so clearly label Sanders not a receiving back to strip any opportunities doing it for a RB that produces half as much? Gainwell had the college experience even…Sanders had one single season that the opportunity was given. A guy that only plays one season of college ball without that portion of running a pro O…..the poster boy for raw clay that should have miles of potential improvement and development. Did he improve grow and learn under Siri? He completely was bashed and sabotaged from having any shot. The raw no experience over 500 yard receiving back cant be an option in the passing game in favor of the much more college receiving experienced Gainwell that hasn’t accomplished half of the production. Who else actually went backwards under Siri while he made poor decisions?
October 26, 20242 yr Smitty I really feel like was one of the most skilled knowledgeable detailed polished route running great hands WR always. He’s the best and only argument for a player thriving under Siri. Now is it my view against Siri’s performance biasing me to not give him credit for Smitty? I just see Smitty as that special player drafted and always produced like he has ….because of all this. Siri was formerly a WR coach and it’s supposed to be his specialty area of strength. But all these dozens of other WR haven’t ever shown any signs of improvement or development. If he actually was a key force in Smitty’s fantastic development and beggining….then somebody…anybody else would have picked up something ..at least one of these things. Not every higher draft pick works out. But a good coach like Vermeil could hold tryouts and bring in several undrafted guys not even making any TC roster….and somebody would stick. Even guys getting cut and not making the team…are still really talented athletes.
October 26, 20242 yr You’d expect a higher percentage of success from the higher the draft pick…or more in demand higher paid vet FA. But how many undrafted, minimum paid options can you pick out and fail with until it’s clear there’s an issue? Even with thirty players all played at SW Chattanooga St ….you gotta get one to develop.

It was a blowout that of course Saquan was going to be more than just motivated but given the full opportunity to have his day. Dominated that crappy team and even got in the backups. That game played out exactly the way everybody wanted(I think even the giants fans wanted to see Saquan dominating the day). 114 yards passing….in an overwhelming dominating blowout that we even rested QB1 at the end of. Gnats are SUCH a powerhouse team LOL. Like HS vs college

October 27, 20242 yr AJ and Smitty have a 33.8 target share. Chase and Higgins have a 41 percent target share
October 27, 20242 yr So we have some really tough matchups this week. Hendrickson their star pass rusher is expect they let feast on Fred Johnson. Just no way he can handle that alone. Q has started out like he’s been here all along. But these two guys bring his toughest challenge yet. As high as I’ve been on him….just asking too much to think him or Slay can handle JaMarr Chase who I think could be the best WR in the league. Higgins is very tough in his own right. These two guys are trouble!
October 27, 20242 yr Among interior DL with at least 75 pass rush snaps this season, Ojomo: Pass rush win percentage is 2nd (18.9%) in the NFL to Kansas City's Chris Jones Ranks 11th in pass rush grade (75.3) Has 10 QB hurries

Like HS vs college Giants stink….haven’t been capable of stopping the run for years even with Dexter Lawrence. So why would passing stats even matter from that game? I know you just salivate and judge everything based on stats. But did we really need to run up the score passing it?

Not sure what you’re missing there? We let Saquan have his day….which is exactly what needed to happen. It wasn’t forced. We blew them out. So you just want to pass to run up the stats and the score? Our Oline was struggling big time. The one thing the giants have is a Dline. It was a fantastic game. What’s to complain about?
October 27, 20242 yr Top paid G in football Dickerson got his butt whooped against those Gmen. He’s been having a really tough time this year. Right from those first plays of the season where his guy hit Hurts twice in the endzone. He still has delivered some beautiful run blocks though.
October 27, 20242 yr Fred Johnson has been a real positive story. But he wasn’t blocking Burns. Now he gets Hendrickson. I’m actually expecting worse results.
October 27, 20242 yr We have Steen at RG. We really can’t afford any more Oline injuries right now. I expected Steen to be the starting RG…maybe last season even…but clearly was in line this season. Stock is way down on Steen. I’m ready to call his ceiling backup level. Really disappointed…thought with his size and athleticism under Stout he’d develop into a monster.
October 27, 20242 yr I actually admit I don’t know much about this Bengals D. I was fond of their LB in the draft. Good growth player….but not some elite freak.
