Nice to see us put a complete game together against a team we are notoriously bad against first win ever in Cincy. Got lucky with the Higgins injury though would have liked to seen our young guys matched up against Chase and Higgins would have been a great test for them oh well good win

BTW,I had this game marked as an L as a disclaimer. We beat a good team today and we needed to do it although we still have no points in the first 1/4. I guess this team is like trying to start an old Buick on a winter day. Crank it 15 times(first 1/4) maybe after 22 cranks it comes alive

Didn't we score the first drive?   I'm not sure the rules?   Do we need to rush to get that in during the 1st Quarter or does it still count to satisfy the critics?

Yeah I thought this was a tough road game against a decent team with a really good QB. Oh and a team that needed the win desperately given how they started the season.

The first quarter stuff is a concern but I guess today there’s context… Cincy opened with a 10 minute drive and we did score points on our opening drive.

Context matters...  similar to whoever gets pushed in the end zone on a tush push...  not really a record breaker there if you take context.

Also for context....

Hassan Reddick.

He will make $10 mil this year....insrwd of the $14.5  he was scheduled to make.   Also reports he turned down $ 20 mil deal for this year.

But his absolutely STUPID decision to holdout... created the cap space for the Jets to sign Adams.

The bad news for the Eagles... almost a guaranteed 3rd round pick from the Jets in 2026....and Adams has 2 years left...so possible the Jets actually do something next season and that pick ends up in the 80s.

But... the real loser is Reddick who brought it all upon himself.  Not only costing himself money this year,  but most likely bigger money down the road, by holding out.

You don't set your value...the 32 GMs do that...and really only takes the one that offers you the most to set that #.

Jalen Hurts completed a pass wearing two different cleats....  the intangibles on this guy, breaking records all over the place.

Only 1 sack but they got good pressure all day.

Burrow moves in the pocket much like Foles used to

Yes we finally scored on a first drive. Usually that is in the first 1/4

The one who has the best O line. I would like a humble QB(not a whiny one when we lose,or the self pity "I need to do better BS" This is TEAM and the TEAM makes the effort to get to the GL. They all busted ass to get there, then he burns the O line and runs behind them. I'm not a fan of that play when we have TE;RB;s and WR's who worked hard to get there only to have that stat taken away and awarded to Hurts. The TD should go to the O line he runs behind. Pretty simple. How can Barkley(for example ever score the most TD's in history if Hurts hogs the ball all the time? It's childish, like the kid who takes his bases and goes home because his team is losing. The tush push should be a last resort, not the first. I just hate that play and I would hate it no matter who the ball hogging jerk was. It just happens to be Jersey #1. BTW I was sad Shipley's first ever TD got called back. What a spectacular effort by that kid

None of us KNOW what play is called. I would bet that play comes into the huddle from the sidelines. It works, so why risk doing something different…fumble, interception etc? Can’t blame Hurts for being selfish if the coach is calling THAT play.

Are they a good team though? 3-5…..5 LOSSES at HOME? Good team?

Cynic. Haha.

Midgets found themselves a RB! Nabors and 86 are good WRs. OLine….thankfully….sucks!

Personally...I'm a huge fan of the QB sneak.  It's a play that works almost every time.

1. The offense knows the snap count

2. The ball never goes backwards

3. Less chance of fumble or disaster

4. If they stop it...you can just run it again.

Absolutely love the play....from a team standpoint.  No nonsense,  get the yard and move on.

Where I agree with GB,BG and most people using common sense..  it's not a play to where you brag about your QB.  The OL is the reason you get the play. The QB squatting 600lbs isn't the reason it works. The QB's role is the get the snap count right, not fumble the ball...and the other guys do the work.

It's absolutely a team stat...doesn't make the QB either great or selfish. Neither extreme.   Bragging about it as the QB stat is ridiculous.  Calling the QB selfish is ridiculous too.

There are times we have to use it because the QB fails to get the TD pass.  There are also times where we get it because the QB makes a play to set it up.

Regardless...would be stupid not to use it to for the team's success. Regardless who the QB is or how we got in the situation that set it up.

I don’t agree here. Hurts is a big reason why the play is so successful. His power is a reason why they are able to generate a yard or two. Sure the OL plays a huge part in that also but the Philly QB sneak is quite different to the rest of the league. For a start it isn’t a sneak because you know it is coming. And our success rate is so high. Other teams have tried the play and failed the point where you rarely see teams try it. And also on Sunday you saw Hurts reading where there was an advantage and moving to his left. On his 3rd TD he’s also very aware of what he needs to get and just gets the ball over the line when at first it was ruled unsuccessful.

And so was Tom Brady....Wentz... Randall Cunningham...Drew Brees....and all the other QBs who could get the snap count right so OL beats the DL off the ball.

They explained the play on a nice video...the QB is along for the ride.. he let's the other guys do the work.

But that snap count,  allowing the OL to get the first jump....particularly for us, it's Dickerson...that's the key to the play.

The Eagles are happy to have outsiders think it's Kelce and Hurts that make that play.  You saw Tampa figure it out in the playoff game...jumping Dickerson head on and getting push from the other side.  If you watch the play you notice we didn't get the jump on the snap.  That's most of the past right there....that's why the term..." sneak "

Article written on November 2, 2023... counted the Eagles tush pushes.   81% success rate....QB sneak rate since 2017...up to that point was 85.6%

The rest of the league 72 % on tush push plays.

Obviously the downside of the tush push is you are giving away the play.  That's why the sneaks ( tush push included along with the regular sneaks) have a higher % overall.

Still that element of surprise... even if they know the play is coming, they don't know the snap count.   Very difficult to stop.

Brady,  David Garrard, Drew Brees were the top 3 guys at the time of the article...percentage wise.  Idk what those guys squat....but I'd guess none squat anywhere close to 600lbs.  Probably Brady and Brees combined squat way kess than that.

Timing is the key... ball handling and allowing your OL to get the first move.

They did not run it to the success and with the regularity that we do right now.

Lol...I just gave the stats.

Nick Siriani came out and declared our team identity is "Physical!”

The Brotherly Shove is all dependent on our individual Oline players. They make it happen which nobody else can duplicate. It’s all Jason Kelce and Isaac Seumalo, Jordan Mailata….oh wait….i mean Fred Johnson and Becton..,…I wait I mean Steen and Lane with Cam. It’s just because we have those five guys.

You know the kind of team that’s going to kill the clock by running it down your throat to kill the clock and win the game. Would have been confirmed and cemented identity week 2….

Dickerson

You could put the center, Dickerson a LT...a QB...and one person in the backfield....the rest of the guys really don't matter.  Goes left side of the center every time.

Get the snap exchange clean.... Dickerson a jump on the DTs...it's pretty much over with the push from behind to ice it.
