Don't miss beast, even though he's on here with a new name, but same tired schtick. Don't miss douglas either. What about Focker, where he at😄

So happy he's not around anymore. The guy acted like the blog was his personal domain and that everyone else was there just to listen to his proclamations.

He was grating...I was glad when he disappeared. I remember being totally confused by that trade because I had no idea who Jason Peters was at the time. I do remember @justrelax being out-of-his-mind giddy over the acquisition...which gave me confidence that it would work out. And boy did it work out. I wouldn't be a tenth as smart about the Eagles as I am now if it weren't for the EMB blog.

I don’t have twitter but i hope he and his dad are doing alright through this. Had some good convos outside of the blog about life and hoping that his dad is still doing well in all of this.

But tries to be. Yeah he played for the Eagles. Big deal. He’s still an arse. Golic Jr. who gives a F. I dont even care that he played for the Eagles. He doesnt take himself too seriously. More people should be like that. Golic Jr is about as entertaining as shoveling snow.

Honestly most of ESPN is a bunch of dbags. I love levy. He’s an awesome guy. Like i said before met him at maccabi games like 20 years ago. Nice guy you’ll meet. Spent like a good 40 minutes talking to me cause he knew i wanted to be a sportscaster when i was younger. I believe Kevin N. Is likely also a nice guy based off his social media and stuff I’ve seen him do off the air. There’s likely some other I learned a lot from some of the uofa coaches about ESPN when the whole Sean Miller incident occurred. There was a lot of stuff they threw out there that they knew was completely inaccurate and not backed up by facts or a reliable source. They just ran with it. it’s why schlabach had his twitter not used for months by ESPN and their story was ever changing timelines that still to this day didn’t make sense. I know Miller wanted to sue ESPN but the financial cost it would take in court deemed it unworthy and it would’ve dragged on for years. Let me put it this way Bill self legitimately had info come out where he’s dead to rights On what they thought they had on miller (as well as some other disturbing stuff by some of his players) and Rick Pitino information came out with some awful stuff and yet dick vitale continuously just defended them. But still went after miller where the information started to emerge as less and less accurate and sources that were completely unreliable. It got to the point where for a month straight they kept having to write retractions that could be found on the obscure part of espn web site cause they didn’t want it front and center where people could find it. Arizona fans found it and continued to send messages to schlabach and ESPN showing how bad of reporting it was. 1 minute ago, Alphagrand said: If Mike Greenberg hadn’t been from Chicago he’d be a Cowboys fan for sure. I like talking coverages. Doug understood coverages and every once in a while, I could get him discussing coverages Beast annoys the crap out of me, but as a draft nut and a person that watches a lot of college games, I enjoy those rare times when Beast will say that he is watching five players, four of which I am also watching but I will go check out the fifth. Half the time he is dead wrong but every once in a while........
August 1, 20205 yr ESPN has become the talking heads version of sports and Fox’s shows aren’t much behind their news talking heads too.

Golic always seemed to snub his nose at the fans. I never understood the praise and fanfare of Golic and Greenberg. I used to listen to them when I would drive to school when I was in high school and they were the definition of vanilla with no stimulative discussion or substance. I think Dan Patrick is the standard for morning sports talk. I listen to his show every morning and I think he's the best interviewer out there. No softball questions and if he doesn't like the answers he's getting from his guest, he calls them out. I think he's 10x the radio host that Greenberg/Golic are/were.

A lot of people donated and the Mods have done a lot of work, especially @Moderator12, before we even 'opened the doors' on our new home. I'm just hoping that more of the old EMB gang will eventually find us, especially those that had no idea that the Eagles were shuttering the old board. I'm sure that many old members have gone to log in and discovered that it wasn't there anymore, and that's the first that they even knew of it. So hopefully, they'll Google the board and find us.
August 1, 20205 yr Thought experiment of the Day. Let's face it besides Lane which has to be straightened out, things seem to be going well, back to the nonsense. Imagine, in your mind's eye, if you had a break between that awful garbage they put out nowadays and call Hoops, and THIS got on stage. I could call up 4 guys you'd call ancient and be competitive . Boys can't shoot lol. Watch muh crossover hahaha. Love to see the commentary, and concern for all those kids "nobody thought of" ROFL . Let's have more discussions of all the things you're going to write out of the script all that "Should Not Be". Best thing Ever in 2020 may be watching someone , anyone, yell at an 80's or 90's kid "You suck".

Just curious...I built another computer and was looking through old Eagles videos I had saved and saw a few he had made back in the 2004-2006 timeframe. Haven't seen him around for awhile. Kinda consider him an OG but don't recall his name mentioned with the likes of GE99, D20, NDirish, nova, slynch, swami, etc... Nova passed on. His son posts here occasionally. Ev left a couple of years ago kinda abruptly. I always hoped nothing had happened to him. I think after a while some guys just lose their fire for the place plus as you can understand there isn't the same quality of discussion in here as there used to be.

Because I drove so much for work around the northeast, you get stuck listening to them a lot. When I had XM I would listen to them but really liked NFL Network radio. When I was a chef at a country club in MD I was driving into work on 9-11 and that’s how I heard about the first plane. They were talking about Michael Jordan because the big news story that day was that he was coming out of retirement, again. And Golic joked and said "some idiot accidentally flew a plane into the WTC”. whoops, bet he wishes he had that one back... even if had turned out to be an accident it would still have been a tragedy. Off hand jokes when peoples lives are concerned, do not go over well at all (unless you are POTUS for some reason 😉).

Glad Tessitore is finally gone. Booger wasn't great on MNF, but he is a great CFB analyst. I think ESPN really did him a disservice with how they originally rolled him out there with Witten.

Half the time he is dead wrong but every once in a while........ Beast threw poop against the wall and hoped it stuck. Half is being generous I'd say. He generally had about 1 'duh' prospect for anything more than the casual fan and then a handful of off the wall guys. He was smart and dumb at the same time on who he picked and how he talked about prospects, which about 99% of the time was completely non descriptive. I feel as though he tried to set himself for as many ITYS' as possible. His forte was ID'n back end of the roster role player guys (which he'd overhype as top notch gems to begin with). Anyone not named Dak Prescott that he hung his hat on generally flamed considering his levels of hype. I almost feel as though he charted 4 star prospects and then saw if they were starting by the middle of their sophomore year. You generally look at value players to fill out a roster and roles and speak intelligently to what you see. Specifically flaws or areas for improvement.
