I can't blame the guy for loving to play football. Hopefully his career ends on a positive note. Last year was a disaster.

After last year I have to wonder how much is still the love of the game driving the continuation of his career and how much is just wanting to get paid.  What makes me think that?  Demanding more money to kick out to LT last year when Dillard got injured.  While it doesn't necessarily tarnish an incredible career here, it left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of fans.  After no other team was giving him a shot to extend his career, we did ... it was selfish to make that demand.

Agreed, he made a lot of money the last 4-5 years to be past his prime and injured.

Maybe he just can't live without playing football.   Maybe it's ego.   Most likely it's the money.

As far as last year, I'm pretty sure the Eagles signed him to play Guard. The number he agreed to had to do with the Eagles expressing to him that he was no longer viewed as a LT on our roster with Dillard here. So when the injury happened to Dillard, I'm sure the talks he had with the Eagles were fresh on his mind. The guy isn't an idiot and wanted to revisit his agreement. He never held out. Unfortunately, his play was way below his 2019 performance which had already declined from previous years. For that, it was time to move on. Mailata and Herbig were both better players making a lot less money.

I still haven't heard any numbers for his new contract, but I doubt, based on his play last year, that it is much more than the minimum. We'll see, I guess, when that comes out. He may not even make their final roster. Also, last year, he would have signed on with someone about the same time he did this year. Teams rarely bring in older, stop-gap players early. The real interest they have as FAs happens in the last couple weeks before the regular season. At that time last year, we had the biggest need and the most familiarity.

Right now, he could be retired as a player and still be a part of the Eagles, getting a pay check. I think most people expect him to transition to a position coach when he's done playing. I do believe he prefers playing while his body still allows it. It's not like he'll be able to come back as player once he's been out for a couple years at his age. He's just hanging on to what he enjoys. If you want to see a guy that didn't love playing football, look no further than Shawn Andrews.

Vinny Curry to miss the 2021 season after Jets place him on the reserve / non-football injury list due to blood clots.  His spleen was removed after being diagnosed with a rare blood disorder earlier this summer - that led to blood clot formation.  Always liked Vinny ... hope he makes a full recovery.

I always liked him too. I wish him well.

Sad to hear about Curry. Wish him well

While it's bad news about Curry, it is a good thing that they caught this before he aggravated the situation further.

I didn’t realize he was with the Giants.  I know he went to Dallas when we cut him.  Now all he needs to do is sign on with the WFT to cover the division!

Da'vante Bausby was cut by the Raiders (he bounced between our active roster and practise squad in 2017 - 18)
