Howie can do well if he’s drafting towards the top of a round. Once he gets to or past the midway point, things don’t go as well for him. The obvious problem is to pick at the top of rounds, you kind of have to suck the year before, or give up a lot of assets.

Does Lurie still take "voluminous notes?"

Just a Howie blunder. 4 minutes ago, NOTW said: I would love to see what their draft board looks like. Does Lurie still take "voluminous notes?" A dart board could pick better players.

Wentz may not be a great upgrade, but he is still better than what they have had the last couple seasons. Who knows maybe he gets back near 2017 performance and in that case they are a real problem for us. I wouldn't write Washington off and dismiss them. Giants? Okay. Our pass rushers will have a field day, setting up INTs by our secondary. After a few good hits Wentz is a basket case. If we can grab a nice lanky safety or CB in the draft he'll be throwing "highballs" right to them.

Isn’t it about time people let this pipe dream go? First off Carson’s 3rd down, touchdown, and red zone scoring rates were completely off the charts that season. He’s never come close to those numbers at any point in his career before or after that point. Secondly since the injury that season he’s never been the same elusive player he was at that point and as such you only see momentary flashes of greatness, but he’s not the player he used to be and he hasn’t been willing to change his style of play to make up for the loss of his athleticism. Now if of all coaches wouldn’t Frank Reich have been the guy on a roster that won 11 games before he got there have been the one able to unlock that 2017 potential? He gave up on dude after one season and literally apologized to the owner for trying to get him there. Yeah 2017 isn’t Carson’s norm. We are so far removed form that and frankly the more recent 2020 season is far more likely to happen than some magical resurgence of something that happened five years ago. I could see maybe with Belicheat and the Patriots, but certainly not with that dysfunctional crap hole in DC.

The Colts preferred to be a team with no quarterback, flailing around in a desperate search to find one before the season starts in a quarterback thirsty league than to keep Carson Wentz. That’s how bad this guy has been in their minds on and off the field and they only took one year to be done with him. People need to let this idea go that he’s some super quarterback. He’s barley holding on to a career right now.

I would imagine that would be true for just about anyone, since at the top of a given round, the best players projected for that round are still available.

This is the "Fate of Former Eagles” thread so plenty of former Eagles get mentioned here. Why people are so adamant to try and defend this former Eagles over some others is beyond me.
