I think he and other players are sick of verbeek’s crap while negotiating. Was a good article on how verbeek’s negotiation ratings finally caught up to him.

The other thing that needs to be talked about, is the Flyers putting that no movement clause in year five. So if he doesn’t wanna be there anymore by that time, Anaheim would have to trade him prior or ask him where he wants to be dealt too. It’s a crap spot to be in for Anaheim cause you don’t just sign that type of offer sheet unless you don’t want to be there or just over the FO

I’d throw in Tippett or Konecny, Risto and Luchanko to sweeten the pot.

What you're proposing is insane. You want to give them 4 firsts and 3 players? This isn't McDavid, and there's zero reason to "sweeten the pot".

I actually think what could happen is what they flyers did with gratton. Tampa didn’t match but they worked a deal out where Flyers got their picks back and sent out renberg and dykuis. I have a hard time believing they keep every forward they have and i could see ducks wanting talent back instead of all picks

Absolutely. While a useful player, Konecny has an albatross contract, Tippett is OK but we have a glut of wingers, Luchanko has no future here with Carlsson, and Risto will be a FA after this season.

The reason to sweeten the pot is to get your guy. All of the players mentioned above are expendable, as are the first round picks, which are meaningless, because the Flyers can’t draft.

Just send the whole team and all of our picks over, everyone and everything is expendable! Tippett is very good, you're severely underestimating him.

Send konecny, fine. Risto, like him or not, is one of our better defenders. They just drafted a billion defensemen because they have none in the pipeline, who are you replacing him with? Let him leave in FA and give them a year to figure out his replacement, don't cause a gaping hole in a trade that doesnt need to happen

That said they just got a contract done with one of the guys that had a potential pending offer sheet. And it’s at 7+ million. So now they’re at 28 million cap space. If they guarantee Carlsson 18 million. They would only have 10 million left. And cutter is gonna need a contract extension. he is definitely gonna ask for something close to Carlsson based off of the fact he thinks he’s as good if not better. They really screwed themselves not getting this done over the last year.

We don't really have defensemen to give that wouldn't create a massive hole in an already weak blue line. So if they did send Risto they now have to fill that hole, and Werenski is probably out if they have the Carlson contract

I don’t disagree with you. However, if that’s the route they go. I could see them saying we’ll take a lesser defense this year to get our 1C of the future. Especially if it’s Risto he’s gone at the end of this upcoming season. next year in free agency or maybe at the deadline try to get themselves an upgrade on defense.

This clause is directly for the Flyers, it does not impact the Ducks. Only the contract dollars and years (term). Regardless of that one year, the short contract allows him to renew a contract at age 26 while he is just hitting his prime. Assuming his numbers go up, that is gonna be a MASSIVE contract.
