Yeah that was a cartoonishly dumb response. Iran defended itself in a way that had likely been game-planned by us for 30-40 years. You need a uniquely, once-in-a-generation stupid administration to not be willing to open a map and say "hey all the world’s oil goes through this strait…what if Iran decided to close it?”
