Quite honestly not sure Fangio saw MLB on tape either. Because had he seen that, then Howie would have been clued in when he was meeting and signing Baun. Seemed like something Fangio figured out once Baun was on the field in an eagles uniform.

Story later came out from Angelo Catalidi that Howard Eskin did this on the orders of Jeffrey Lurie.  If you want to hate anyone for this happening, then hate Lurie.  We should have Josh Harris as the owner but Washington does and that is why they are the ones on the rise.

Idk why people dig their heels in to argue something like Howie signing Baun not knowing his full potential. That is known. Just be glad the factors lined up. Howie signed a guy, Howie/Siri hired a veteran experienced DC who saw more in Baun & coached him to a great season. 

The right people were in place, made good decisions and the team & player benefited. 

Now they just need to sign him a new deal.

Baun didnt expect to be this good. He said he laughed when he saw there was a pro bowl clause in his contract.

Yes, I do think Fangio had Baun at ILB on his depth chart from the point where Howie agreed to offer Baun a contract.

You know what I’m reminded of? When we got Peters from Buffalo. There were many on here who moaned about how many sacks he gave up there, that he was a malingerer, a locker room cancer. Turned out he was one of the best OL who ever played.

Will Becton be that good? Highly highly unlikely. Still, he has enormous talent and I seriously doubt we can draft a tackle as good in the foreseeable future.

I think it’s purely a question of money, of what we can afford and what he’ll accept.

Money and the dead cap from Kelce, Cox, Graham and Bradberry plays a huge part.  That said, he has to have heard from the "barn” crew ((lifting at Lane’s) about the value of an offseason here.  Imagine what Becton’s real athleticism would be if he spent the offseason working in the barn with Lane and came back at around 340.  Both he and Davis could thrive if they became regulars at the barn and add a little nutrition monitoring and focused weight training to the offseason.  There is a real sport science to maintaining the level of weight for NFL OL and DTs and changing how that weight is distributed.  The barn crew seem to excel at that.  I also think it helps with camaraderie along the line.
