If you like HBO docs and haven't seen "The Inventor", that's one of the best.

I think it says a lot about our society in general as well. People that don't know what they're doing, grifters, con artists, rising to extreme places of power. I used to think when I was much younger that people who are CEOs and Presidents of companies are there for a reason. That reason being that they are so marvelously talented. Now that I have been in the work force for 20+ years at various companies and institutions, I know different.

Couldn't agree more. Frauds are everywhere, and it's disappointing how market inefficiencies allow them to thrive.

I've noticed that most of the presidents and CEOs I've worked for have largely come up in sales. They got to where they are not because they are intelligent problem solvers or strong inspirational leaders, it's because they can effectively sell their bull ish to the other a holes in charge.

This is such a revelation when you see it time, and time, and time again in the real world.

I've come across some very smart C level execs, but far fewer smart ones than just slick, sleazy, talkers with no real ideas or plans.

so i started watching Rome. never watched it before, but so far i am liking it.

i didnt look it up, but was the show a limited run series, or just get cancelled after two seasons ?

Great show. The problem was the production costs were way too high and it just got too expensive to keep making.

gotcha. makes sense considering the production level i have seen so far. really digging.

seeing a couple of GOT actors earlier on is cool as well.

Godzilla vs Kong

Spoiler

Boring except for the fights. I didn't give a F about the human stories

I was glad that the dad in the previous Godzilla movie didn't have much screen time because he sucks. The story with the kids and the adult conspiracy theorist guy was a snooze fest. Only good thing about this movie was the epic fights

I had a feeling they wouldn't kill one off though. Mechagodzilla was whooping ass until Godzilla lit the axe up. Disappointed that Godzilla only used his breathe weapon and not the nuke pulse

Godzilla>Kong

Spoiler

Mechagodzilla fighting looked an awful lot like a Jaeger from Pacific Rim...

We agree here. Other then the fights I have no clue what is going on or care. I do enjoy watching kong wreck sheet though.

They can't do almost 2 hours of monster fights, the costs would be astronomical. Every monster movie is like this, you have to take it for what it is.

That said, the movie was Fing awesome. It delivered exactly what was promised.

I have to watch it again, I was half drunk and sleepy lol.

Finally started up on Titans. Pretty good. Don't know why I procrastinated on it

Saw Kong/zilla in theaters moments ago. Got a lot of napping in the final half hour. Will have to see what I missed when I get home. Testing out AMC A-List. Watching Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley next

I enjoyed it. It was dumb and the plot holes are bigger that either Godzilla or Kong but it was expected and the fights were awesome.
This too:

sheesh, strongly disagree. I went into this with high hopes though which is my own fault.

These movies are all apart of a "Monsters Universe," which I don't think a lot of people are aware of. It went Godzilla, Kong:Skull Island (which was great), then Godzilla: King of the Monsters, then this one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MonsterVerse

At the end of Godzilla 1 they teased Kong, and then had small easter eggs throughout the others. Because of that I was hoping for a teaser at the end of this one with Cthulhu maybe. IDK, something. To see this movie just end after being as **** as it was really annoyed me.

What was the upside down world Kong went to again? Like some parts of this movie were so far off the rails, I wouldve been pissed had I gone to see this in the theatres like I was planning on.

This, was a good fn movie. My first experience back in theatres "post" pandemic. Just picked a movie at random too, didnt even know what it was going into it. But it was a lot of fun, for a post apocalyptic movie with a pretty far out premise.

It felt a little empty at the end, but apparently its an adaptation from a mutli-book series? So it would make sense that you only get a taste of things.

Skull Island was the "best" one because it actually had a story. It revolved around the humans, not Kong. It was a very good movie, but not a very good Kaiju movie.

The upside down world was hollow earth, which had been mentioned previously in the monsterverse in Skull Island. It is supposed to be the origin of all the Titans, which is why there was all the evidence of prior giant apes down there.

Going into a kaiju movie with any hope of a good story is setting yourself up for disappointment. This movie was about a giant Lizard fighting a giant ape, and that's exactly what we got.

It's also been said that those movies were the lead up to Godzilla v Kong, which would imply this is the last movie in the monsterverse, so there really wouldn't be anything to tease at the end. I ended up googling it,  and director of GvK said it depends on how this one is received if they do another one.

https://collider.com/godzilla-vs-kong-adam-wingard-interview/

Would be a waste to tease something that might never come into existence, so I can see why they didn't. But again, you kinda set yourself up for disappointment by expecting one.

The only hollow earth thing I didn't get was that they had some bomb daylight in there. I know that there was some energy source or whatever that Eric from Trueblood wanted to harness, but it seemed like everything was lit by sunshine lol

I used to love the Godzilla movies when I was a kid. Somehow I missed out on all of these remakes. I'm going to watch them all in order. Just finished the first Godzilla with Bryan Cranston. Pretty good. Moving on to Kong Skull Island.
