EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

A loss sucks, but I’m not as upset as I usually am after the season. I think I already accepted this outcome earlier in the season.

So much writing on the wall, it was hard not to see.

Hopefully KP is gone soon. Siri will get another year, but the 2027 off-season is primed for big changes.

I’m actually not depressed about losing today. I wanted the Eagles to win every game they play. However, hearing Mike Garafolo say that if the Eagles win, they’re gonna keep Pattulo angered me. Because it shouldn’t be just about wins when your offense is bottom 10 in DVOA and bad offensively. There should be a standard of expectations placed on your offense given the talent you have and money spent.

I love winning games. Frankly, I will take a playoff win anyway I can get them. But I also look at the fact it is really hard to win a Super Bowl if the recipe is gonna be 2024. where you have to have a historic run game and the best defense in the league to overcome the fact that your pass offense has been wildly inconsistent for 2 years

Hurts having to be on his A game every night to make the one read that is open every other play.

Hurts was on his A game once all year...when he played a Raiders team that was actively trying to lose.

People Siri is not getting fired. Unless he stands up for KP

Praying that he pulls a Doug. Offense needs a restart

I picked the wrong year to hop on the train.

I'm not a Hurts basher, but I recognize his limitations as a passer. They can hamstring an OC, and it takes an OC with something a little more up his sleeve to maximize him, especially as his mobility decreases. The idea that he has ever been a top 3 QB in this league is laughable. He's a very good player, but he's not a QB you want leading the team for a GW drive with the game on the line and he has to throw the ball the whole way. That's not who he is as a QB. He's a QB that works much better as a front runner... not a gunslinger.

Wonder what we could get for Hurts, Barkley, and Brown in a trade

Im not ready to trade Barkley yet but I am highly disapointed in him. And yes I know the OL didnt block well, but there is enough of a sample from Tank to see success was there to be had and Barkley's running style is just too soft.

You know, people loved and respected Steven Jackson for the rams who always grinded out 1000 yard seasons behind a horrible OL with a poor yards per carry average. His OL couldnt block. He earned tough yards to get his production.

Barkley just lost tons and tons of yards dancing this year, and going down on first contact. Looks like tarzan plays like jane.

If the OL can get fixed, Ill keep him for his playmaking ability. But they better be ready to mix in a RB2 a lot more. Hopefully the new OC will mix it up nicely like Ben Johnson did last year in Detroit with those 2 RBs.

Normally after a playoff loss im gutted but im surprisingly relieved

This year was a 💩 show and I dont have to watch it anymore

I can just casually watch football and enjoy it.

Not sure who to root for.

Not the bears, though I think they have a really well constructed roster and a good offensive philosophy and scheme but I just cant.

Niners can eat a D, I hope seattle puts up 60 on them.

Rams been talking all year that they should have won super bowl last year, last I checked they lost in the snow

Seattle would be ok.

Not the Pats because you know theyre the cheating evil empire, im sure whatever cheating voodoo magic they had with belicheat and brady the new Pats are doing the same.

Bills or chargers winning their first would be cool. Maybe ill root for AFC.

My 9 year old daughter asked me if we were still going to watch the super bowl even with the eagles out, because she still wants the food.

With the panthers out. I’m rooting for the bills or a giant meteor.

Yep. And it cost us the game along with the terrible offense, unless of course you like to lie to yourself.

Defense is very far from being responsible for the loss in my eyes. Can't make every stop, seems that some in here expected that. If the offense scores 1 TD off 2 turnovers instead of 1 fg, they win the game. But the offense once again couldn't even make it to 20 points against a bottom 15 defense

TAKE THE POINTS! lol.

Yeah if you told me in 2016 that we could go to 3 SBs and win two of them by 2025 but we then would lose a for a few years I would have pulled a hammy running to sign that deal.

We can't control the o-line injuries and the 4 GD wind tunnels that hit Philly like clockwork during games but we sure as hell should have canned Patullo by week 8.

I'm proud of the players for getting to 11 wins with that PoS loser at OC and that corrupt snake at HC.

I wanted a Bears rematch but Patullo/Siri would have blown that one too.

The Eagles have the most expensive offense in the NFL. Now, without looking up...I'm reasonably confident that every player on offense except TE is slated to make more money in 2026 than 2025. (Tends to happen when you have 10 of 11 starters under contract).

THAT IS A PROBLEM.

How can they find a way to make this offense cheaper in 2026 than 2025? The net cap number on offense HAS to go down.

And paying Goedert good money is a horrible start to trying to accomplish that.

I tend to agree with a lot of what you’re saying here but Dallas Goedert was the only semblance of solid offensive play throughout the 2nd half of the season. The guy made crucial first down catches and scores when no one else on offense was doing anything.

His straight up refusal to run at all this year was baffling.

Without his ability to run, why would you want him?

I can get behind that.

Go bills!

People don't think like that anymore. We didn't repeat back to back, so we're a disappointment.

...I think the Chiefs 3peat thing really screwed up the Eagles fandom. That happened as a show of how good both Mahomes and Reid are, combined with some really good outings from Spagnolo. We don't have a QB on that level, or a HC on that level, that was always delusional to expect to cakewalk there.

Let’s see if we get another last minute exciting playoff game tonight!!

Both sides of ball lost this game. Refs had their hands in it as well…

Lets be real the offense lost the game. With the same issues that cost them games all season. They never improved at it and thats damning for KP. He is likely canned tmrw

Have you guys seen Hurts run this year? Purdy might be faster.

Yup - unfortunately he’s a depreciating asset as well.

There's no A game when you have a bunch of amateurs coaching against professionals. They never put him in a position to succeed.

He outplayed Purdy tonight but the result is massively different because the Niners have professional coaches and we have asshats who belong in high school.

Hurts is not an all timer but he has clearly demonstrated that he's capable of playing at a very high level when put in position. Same as AJ and Saquon.

I would like Texans at Bills and Bears at Seahawks and I'd be OK whoever won with a lean to the Texans.

It all makes sense. The head ref…PA native. Even he was tired of the eagles ish this year and made sure he saved us all from a BTA next week. Give that man a statue.

Hurts is not a QB who can be effective if he's not actively gaining chunks and first downs on the ground and a threat to run impacting coverages when he's passing. Even the biggest Hurts supporters will acknowledge that.

Hurts will be 28 next year. The running threat is fading. So how does this end?

Why wait until tomorrow? Fire him before he leaves the building
