When this initially came out, it was also within a week of reportedly some eagles coaches saying the same thing. There were 2 weeks in a row where supposedly people inside the locker room, players and coaches were speaking out about doubts with our QB.

Honestly I wouldn’t be sad if we went in a different direction at Qb… I haven’t looked at hurts hight but we saw yesterday and a lot at the slightest hint of pressure he bails and runs towards the sidelines. Brady was suggesting yesterday he might do that so he can see better.. if you can’t see over your oline that’s a problem.

I'd have given play calling duty to Loefler, but I think the organization had PTSD from the Desai to Patricia change in 2023. What was obvious was the players on offense didn't believe in the coaching, scheme and play calling later in the year. We saw the same thing with the defense in 2023. When players lose confidence in the coaches having answers, you're drawing dead.

Ill just say, if the eagles get news from Fangio that he is done, then the nuclear options should absolutely be on the table because they wont be competing next year if the defense takes a step back. So getting rid of the big money as soon as possible and taking those hits all at once would be the way to go.

After watching that 4th down interaction... I was thinking about Nick Foles and HIS philly special call. He knew what he wanted to do, not just a bunch of blank stares.

yeah but thats a crock of baloney too. Brees was short. You dont have to scramble to the sideline and throw the ball away. You can move around INSIDE the pocket and find a lane.

I've thought about that but it was a terrible move because it was a terrible move. The logic of scoring a lot in playoffs and keeping continuity makes sense but ultimately they totally misjudged Patullo's ability to be an OC even though they had the best seat to do so. So it was a terrible move. But yes the compounded it by seeing the failure and doing nothing about it which is equally bad if not worse

Losing - or winning but the offense "loses" by severely underperforming - creates frustration and problems, high performers hate losing so frustration comes out. Something that Nick does well is keep the team together. On another team culture and leadership, AJ Brown might have reacted much worse. We joke about Big Dom but he does manage personalities and calm things.

Even in wins this year, we saw multiple players not just AJ Brown frustrated. It's somewhat similar to the attitude and effort of the 2023 defense. When you don't trust the coaches, it's hard to keep giving 100% even for top players.

The offensive line was no where near as good…night and day, actually.

Not saying the OC isn’t the weakest link…but it goes deeper than just that

Agreed. I said last night after all the talk about this season being a repeat of 2023 youd think more fans would understand how those coordinator changes added to the cratering of that team mid-season. I dont blame Siri for not firing Patullo mid-season. And I bet there were some changes in responsibility behind the scenes. Our opening drive looked pretty damn good last night and for a few weeks now. Whoever did that was not what Patullo was running for the rest of the game.

Not sure about top choice but I'd at least interview Kafka or McCown.

They need to have some serious internal review and reflection. Siri is not an offensive mind, he doesn't have a scheme and playbook to implement, he needs a coordinator to do that. He didn't call plays before here, he worked under Head Coaches that called plays and he had Philip Rivers and Andrew Luck. If he had anything to offer to the offense, where was it in any season since Steichen left? I don't mind a CEO Head Coach but then you simply cannot hire an OC who has never called plays. So the HC and OC both lacked play calling experience. Terrible decision for a "CEO." CEO's get fired to such decisions, no that won't happen here though.

He can stay big picture, overall game management and prep through the week and focus on other strengths in leading the team. But has to hand the offense to someone and let him run it. And that someone has to have control, push back on the conservative style while also maintaining a strong focus on the turnover ratio which Siri is obsessed with. Just find balance in being efficient but taking risks at the right time.

Think about this: they have to get younger and cheaper on offense. Who is going to coach these young guys up and teach scheme to them?

Whenever there is a next Head Coach hire in the future, Lurie is going to want someone that has a scheme and has play calling experience that can absorb a rotation at OC if they continue to leave.

Here's a question:

List the current starters on offense that you would NOT cut RIGHT NOW if you magically could for a completely magically free $0 cap hit. Complete and total cap savings of whatever their contract is for the length of the contract.

I want to see everyone's list.

So if Hurts is that awful and the teammates and coaches think he stinks why did they sign him to that contract?
