I feel like 5th round picks come with the pressure and expectation of making the roster and being a viable backup. That may lock some teams into lower upside picks with guys who have some kind of track record at a high level.

7th rounders get cut every year. That's where you draft unique talents that have barely played football, are missing eyes, fingers, hands, still recovering from heart surgery, pending investigation for triple homicide, curling gold medalists...it's more acceptable to get creative.

OMFG, your 2nd paragraph. 😃😃😃😃😃

Harkey would be a Guard

Welp.

Got a guard. Not sure if they would have taken Harkey. Probably not.

With the throwaway picks, lets get some freak show selections please. Jeff Caldwell (some 6'5" 4.30 wr that jumped out of the combine that I know nothing about), Nigerian DT, a 7' OT...who cares?

Caldwell

Uar Bernard (the Nigerian rugby player)

Some others I like:

OT Isiah World -- coming off injury, was projected as high as the first round during the CFB season, could be a guard convert

TE Michael Trigg -- another athletic tweener TE pass catcher

TE Dallen Bentley -- big at 6'4" 260, can block, solid receiver and RAC ability, good athletic testing numbers

TE Dan Viillari -- QB to TE convert, great route runner, can't block

WR Deion Burkes -- speed guy

WR Eli Heidenreich -- Navy guy, gadget player who cann be a receiver or RB. Really dynamic with the ball in his hands.

LB Eric Gentry -- spidery 6'7" 220 pounds. Needs to add weight, but athletic and can develop into a guy who can rush the passer and also drop into coverage a bit.

S DeShon Singleton -- 6'3" 205, explosive athlete, can cover a bit and a willing tackler

Georgia. yay!

Got a guard

Keeping that Georgia equilibrium.

The other 13 linemen we have must be extremely disappointing

He's not. We have a mutual friend and I've met him a couple of times over the years.

That's why Howie loaded up on late picks -- he'll trade up for him just like he did with Mailata.

Eagles like big OL. Not sure where that leaves Lampkin

We like em thicc

Feels like he micro doses shrooms? Did you ever come away with that vibe from him?

I'm being serious.

Yeah everything I've heard about him personally is positive. Just couldn't make it as a HC on an incredibly poorly run franchise. It happens.

His substance abuse issues are public. whistle
