You should be able to redshirt 2 rookies each year.

I was going to say he reminds me of a bigger version of Blankenship.

I hope he has Blankenship's brain and savvy. That's a lot of what made Blankenship IMO.

Yeah.

You don't take him unless you have a clear plan to eat the roster spot for a year or two. Luckily we have one of the best DT rotations in the NFL, so we can probably afford to keep him on ice for a year.

That's probably what really caused him to fall. Aside from the obvious "never played football" thing, teams would be very, very happy to generate some international hype over an otherwordly athlete...not to mention the upside that is completely absent from anyone else on day 3. From that standpoint in isolation, he could have gone even earlier than this.

Truly committing to his development means dealing with a 52 man roster for a year or 2.

Uar and Lemon.

Here's where it gets interesting with Uar....what the heck do you do with him for 2026? The fact that it was the Eagles that drafted him will undoubtedly cause buzz. He will not be safe on the PS...which really would be the best place for him. Fake injury IR sure, but the NFL cracks down on that now and if he can't practice with the team...you'll never develop him.

Mailata burned a roster spot for most of his rookie year until they found an opportunity to get him on IR, probably when they wanted the spot, in December. I'm assuming all the stress fracture in the back noise was BS. And then he spent the vast majority of year 2 on IR.

They may need to put him on the initial 53 and then IR him down the road.

If he truly stays at DT I could see him getting playing time sooner than an OL prospect would. Not saying it’s easier but it is less detrimental if you miss an assignment. Miss an assignment at OL and your QB can get hurt. Miss an assignment at IDL and someone will likely make the tackle a little further downfield, I really want to see this guy succeed. Def looks the part, technique is important but at his size and agility, effort and attitude goes a long way on the interior.

Uar Bernard is gonna get more hype and interest than any other Eagles pick in this draft. Uniquely Eagles circumstance.

Move over Nasty Nate!

Also, you can use the player in a rotation. If he's a backup DT, you can get him 10-20 snaps per game in situational football where he won't hurt you too much. A couple early downs deep in the other team's territory, short yardage situations, etc. where your risk is minimal.

Makai Lemon's RAS is N/A because it's too small to measure?

He was drafted so he counts. They have to keep him or cut him. That is my understanding. It was the same with Mailata. Everybody figured he would be cut and put on the practice squad but he looked ok in the preseason and the Eagles were afraid he would be picked up on waivers.

Mailata was too valuable to put on waivers. Uar likely will be looked at the same way, but the new PS rules makes it even easier to keep a guy like Uar on the roster, but deactivated each week.

Now that the draft is over Halloween’s only a 6 month wait if Hazleton gets an itch to make pretend dress up as a draft scout again for a day.

he didnt do enough testing.

Horace Grimwalt III to the Bengals. Damn

Logan Fano joins his brother on the Browns.

Get the TE Michael Trigg, OT Isaiah World, OG Jaeden Roberts.

Award it now

Be careful when trading for Brian Thomas Jr. They might trick you now.

Bernard, if he can pick up on the nuances of line play and techniques has the traits of a terrific 3/4 DE.

Jadyn Ott to the Chiefs. Damn.

great blocking TE Cody Hardy from NC State to the Saints. Damn.

Draft was fine.

They have a new OC, Howie is reshaping the offense for him, adds Lemon, Brown, Moore and Wicks at WR, Wilson returns with Cooper, adds Stowers and Mundt at TE. Quicker, more explosive skill players for new scheme.

OL has same 5 starters, 5 "red shirt" backups (Hinton, Williams, Lumpkin, Kendall, Majors), 2 new red shirts.

DL pretty much the same

LB loses Dean but Campbell moves in, trades Phillips and 3rd for Greenard (2027 3rd/comp pick for Phillips) and lower cap hit. Add depth

CB is stronger with Woolen, safety still a question mark.

All in all, Howie addressed most of the off season issues.

The talent is there, the key is whether the new offensive scheme can make the offense more explosive and take some pressure off aging/injured OL by getting the ball out quicker and making it harder for teams to key on Barkley.
