Wrong. You don't go out of your way to trade for a respected and experienced NFL backup QB like Andy Dalton to cut him later. Also the 1.5 million is fully guaranteed. Use your FN brain.

$1.5M is not a lot you dope, neither is a 7th round pick. The vet minimum for a player with 7+ experience is $1.3M. It's practically the vet minimum. This isn't at all comparable to anything like Minshew or Mariota with the assets they invested in them. Hell, they even invested a significant amount more of resources in Chase Daniel and over double amount more money to Flacco and neither of those two were still on the roster by the start of the season.

Trading for Dalton was just giving the Eagles to have options going forward the rest of the off seasons. If someone were to come with a good enough offer for McKee then the Eagles could have a veteran backup. No team did and the Eagles now still have McKee, Dalton and a flyer on a 5th round QB. I would say Dalton is a favorite to make the team but he is in no way a 100% lock to make the team. If no team becomes desperate due to injury during preseason/training camp to trade for McKee and the kid they drafted today looks legitimately promising just as McKee did as a rookie in training camp and preseason then I see a higher chance that Dalton is not on this team either through a trade for whatever barebones they could get if they can or just by release.

I really would have liked to see Jeff Caldwell with 1 of the 7's. Maybe as a udfa....

Alright, this is more fun.

Yup day 3 ends up being the best day lol

Ok Howie pulled out a nice draft!

Clint Hurtt seems thrilled!

I hope Uar has himself a stellar career…cool story, even if he’s playing for PHI. Nice draft guys.

Are his pads made of vibranium?

Another awesome draft, great value overall, and some high ceiling prospects. Great job Howie!

Over to you coaches.

I heard of him. Never cared to watch. Think he might have bee a solid player, but undersized.

LOL

Bernard is originally from Nigeria and out of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. Projecting best as a defensive tackle, he is raw technically but has amazing athleticism. Bernard's testing numbers are off the charts at his size, as he ran the 40-yard dash in the low 4.6 range, posted a vertical jump just shy of 40 inches and had a broad jump just under 11 feet. -- Scouts Inc.

Yeah with 4.6 speed and that much muscle try him at edge

Uar stole the spotlight, but I remember he was 1 of two freaks reported on that day. He was more freaky, but the other guy would have generated the same buzz if Uar never existed. I cant remember who the other guy even is. But Howie needs to go get him in UDFA now.

Overview

Bernard is a defensive line prospect from the same International Player Pathway program that produced Eagles OT Jordan Mailata. Bernard has not played organized football, but he displayed a rare blend of size, length and explosiveness at the IPP pro day in March. He could garner consideration as a defensive tackle, defensive end or even offensive tackle if he takes to the training. He will require work on every facet of his technique and fundamentals, so a team will need to be patient with a long-term plan for him. As one of the rarest of physical specimens I’ve seen in the sport, Bernard warrants a late-round selection. His ability to incorporate and execute upon the coaching he receives will determine his future in the sport. The odds might be against him earning snaps, but the exceptional traits will be hard for teams to ignore.

Strengths

  • Rare combination of size and athletic testing results.

  • Carries almost 36-inch arms on a chiseled 300+ pound frame.

  • Explosive power in both upper and lower halves.

  • Displays twitchy, heavy hands getting through bag drills.

Weaknesses

  • Has yet to play a game snap.

  • Rigid movements in on-field drills.

  • Needs to get used to moving with better knee/hip bend.
