This pretty much sums up this season. People were excited about the opening drive where they went 14 plays for 40 yards and settled for three. The bar for acceptance and excitement has been lowered to shin-level.

lol exactly 67.5 QBR, 5 completions out of 20 pass plays called. Everyone pumped up, lol. It is pretty funny how everyone is reacting to it, lol.

I've said this too.  I don't think this team truly can turn it around unless Lurie sold the team.  I think he's more interested in adding to his billions before he adds to his trophy case.  The Eagles are his business and they rake in cash.  He got his SB trophy.  He will forever be the great Eagles owner in charge of that.  But I just think his desire to win another isn't as great as it was to win the first one.

The pertinent question is does Lurie have the energy and attention to clean house one more time, or is he happy to be able to dip into the FO and coaching staff to get what he wants, as needs be?

Put more brutally.  Is Lurie prepared to lose a little control and influence at the Novacare in order to win another Super Bowl?

This is a sad team to root for right now.

Sad is right. It feels like it’s over for Wentz here, and I hate it.

Lurie has to do some soul searching, but you guys calling for him to sell the team are nuts.

I wonder how about his back injury sapping some flexibility. He often looks stiff out there.

I've thought that too.  You watch his rugby highlights and he was huge, nimble fastish.  I'm pretty sure he's added weight to play tackle in the NFL and I'm sure that's taken away some of that flexibility.

Yeah, we've sunk to the bottom of the league so fast. This feels worse than 2015.

I would hope so.

Mailata looks a lot more like a RT than a LT to me.

I'm ok with that too.  If Dillard comes back strong, we could potentially have RT & LT secured for the next decade.

I for one am glad the Wentz era is coming to an end. Between the injuries, leadership issues, and hero play, I have more than had enough. Looking forward to the rebuild.

That goofball is comparing a 5th year $130 million QB to a QB playing his first actual drives at QB in the NFL. At this point, some of you need to just admit your biases.

Reminder: He’s incredible.

howie should be fired now, but he wont be

doug canned after the season out of respect

If Doug gets the respect of the Super Bowl and gets to finish the season, Howie should too.  Both were very integral in the Super Bowl.  But, the good will from that has run out, given the complete dysfunction of this season.   Thanks for 2017... we'll have a party for you all in a few years once things here are more settled... and we'll likely pine for what was back then, and wish we had it again.

THings are gonna get interesting if Wentz gets benched

I'm OK with that.  I think he could be a great RT too.  Huge, powerful and athletic with a nasty streak.  Give me jumbo Jon Runyan and I'm happy.  It also let's Dillard prove himself at LT and hopefully make a draft pick worth while.

I’m fine with that.  I just hope they don’t ruin both him and Dillard by forcing Mailata at LT and making Dillard a swing tackle (that went great) on the bench.

We're not the Lions, Bengals, etc.

Who cares?

Hurts time for sure. Season officially over. Let the kid play and gain experience. Wentz can make some duck shooting event arrangements 🙂

At this point I’d rather put Wentz back out there to prove my point hell I’ll go into next season with him just so the truthers get exposed.

we are comparing a 5 year vet at 130 milly to a kid thrown in half way through one game and yet he at least was still able to throw a td, something Wentz can’t do

You are completely missing the point of his post, lol.

you cant go back to wentz the rest of this year. you killed what ever confidence he had left, you just smashed the sheet out of it.

And i have serious doubts you can get him back playing well on this team, def not for this coaching staff, not behind this oline throwing to these wrs.

that was a move of desperation by Doug trying to save his job

so now we need to find a way to move wentz and start the franchise qb search all over again.  Howie and Doug broke a legitimate MVP type franchise qb to the point he needs to move on to rebound. Congrats

Reagor showed that he does have some of the juice that got him drafted, but his floor still feels like Tavon Austin with a Percy Harvin ceiling.

He needs to learn how to play the position.

If your hero is that fragile, that's not a winner mentality in the NFL. Go back to the FCS.

In modern day Rugby, you have to be lean to cope with the rigours of the sport.  You can't be Mailiata's NFL size and sniff a pro team in either code; there has to be a lot of mobility and endurance over pure size. The game has moved on in the past 5 years and being 6'8 doesn't mean anything.

The back injury could be a detriment, but I'd think he is still trying to form his body into prime NFL shape and work out how it fits him.

This team just has absolutely no direction. The Eagle fandom is being pulled out of me this season.

Sadly, you get called an antisemite if you say this.

No when you use a derogatory term you get called out on it. Blast Lurie all you want, you don’t have to bring up a derogatory term for Jew when doing so. It’s really not that hard.

lol yeah cause finding legit MVP type franchise type qbs is easy and we done it soo many times in my lifetime.

this is just an idiotic take.

we are doomed for years to come
