This pretty much sums up this season. People were excited about the opening drive where they went 14 plays for 40 yards and settled for three. The bar for acceptance and excitement has been lowered to shin-level.

He played better than Wentz. That said let the idiots that jumped immediately on Hurts' bandwagon read this.

lol yeah cause finding legit MVP type franchise type qbs is easy and we done it soo many times in my lifetime.

this is just an idiotic take.

we are doomed for years to come

Dude stop, Wentz is no MVP type QB, he has more bad games in his career than good, and this year he has been the worst QB in the league by every relevant metric. 2017 was lighting in a bottle, and it is never happening again.

If your hero is that fragile, that's not a winner mentality in the NFL. Go back to the FCS.

show me amy mvp type franchise qb that ever got benched and then went back to being the mvp type franchie qb.

i cant think of one.

the fact some of you are soo happy about this shows me you have no idea how hard it is to find an mvp type qb.

Just to rain on one of the few things the blog still holds sacred...Mailata looks a lot more like a RT than a LT to me.

For all his freakish athleticism, he can’t totally defy physics and is sluggish with edge rushers out wide.

The nice thing is that if all goes to plan, Dillard is the LT of the future, so moving Mailata to RT is easy.  Mailata is likely the swing OT until they move on from Lane.

He's a Fing baby. F Wentz.

I don’t think Wentz is a baby.  He’s done nothing but say the right thing and act the right way.  He has fallen apart on the football field in a sad, horrific way, but I don’t think any of this is an attitude problem.

Looking better is such a pathetic bar to clear. I’m not interested in looking better. It’s over.

Rome wasn't built in a day.  This team was a pedestrian 7-9 in Pederson's and Wentz' first year.  The following year they went 13-3 and won the Super Bowl.

As you know, the current state of the NFL is made up of about 22-24 "average to bad" teams, another 6 or so "contenders" and maybe 2 -4 very good teams.

Add the fact that we are in the NFC East...well....

It doesn't take much to get form "average" to "good" and if you hit lightning in a bottle, who knows.

so now we need to find a way to move wentz and start the franchise qb search all over again.  Howie and Doug broke a legitimate MVP type franchise qb to the point he needs to move on to rebound. Congrats

Or get a new coach who knows what he's doing. But I'm already expecting the lip-service from this front office that this was an unprecedented year with COVID, the team wasn't able to properly prepare, rookies were at a significant disadvantage because of it, etc, etc, even though that stuff didn't seem to impact other good teams negatively at all.

you cant go back to wentz the rest of this year. you killed what ever confidence he had left, you just smashed the sheet out of it.

And i have serious doubts you can get him back playing well on this team, def not for this coaching staff, not behind this oline throwing to these wrs.

that was a move of desperation by Doug trying to save his job

I kind of agree. They may be able to get crafty like Texans years ago and trade a ton of picks to have some team eat the cap in a trade but it'd probably have to be a lot of picks to take on that kind of cap hit. Picks that we need so badly to rebuild the team. It's amazing how bad Howie set this team back and how the coaches failed

At least we'll always have 2017

Drew Lock loves throwing into triple coverage.

No when you use a derogatory term you get called out on it. Blast Lurie all you want, you have to bring up a derogatory term for Jew when doing so.

Hymie? Like Al Sharpton called parts of NYC Hymietown? Did you care then, or only when it's convenient for you to care?

sad place to be, back to total rebuild. GM coaching staff, QB  and so on

The Broncos are so dumb on offense. They hit a big play to Noah Fant, then immediately take him off the field for the next 2 plays. He's your best offensive player; use him.

They want Wentz, give em Wentz. We can’t sit through another entire game scoring 3 points while the Saints bf us into yet another loss. Totally worth for the I told you so’s

Nah he's a baby. Maybe it's from him being a D1A prospect, maybe it's just in his blood. He's not a Rodgers, he's not a Wilson or Mahomes. He's not even an RGIII. He's busted and he's a bum.

I agree something broke tho and he is done here regardless. He was done week 2.

I have no idea what their plan is; I’m not sure there is one.

Dillard is already very, very far behind the 8 ball at his age.

Mailata still has a long way to go.  If Dillard were to surprise and lock down LT next year while Lane and Mailata platoon...that gives Mailata a controlled development option.  Then come the trade deadline or next offseason (depending on contractual fine print), you look to move Lane.

I for one am glad the Wentz era is coming to an end. Between the injuries, leadership issues, and hero play, I have more than had enough. Looking forward to the rebuild.

I for one would have been happy if it came to an end after 8 or 10 more seasons like 2017. Only in Philly can you be hated for being a hero or for being accused of leadership issues with no credible evidence of such.

This team just has absolutely no direction. The Eagle fandom is being pulled out of me this season.

This season? I'm honestly worried that Howie doesn't get fired. The future doesn't look good

Can we have Andy Reid back please?

Duce is the most overrated coach we’ve had here in some time. What has Moorehead done? A month ago it seemed like he was going well, but now none of our WRs are playing well. Reagor screws up 5-6 times a game, a couple of them are drive killing.

I'm not saying there's evidence of causation, but there's clearly a correlation to the WRs going to crap and the return of Alshon.  He never should have been brought back... just stealing reps and snaps.

I've thought that too.  You watch his rugby highlights and he was huge, nimble fastish.  I'm pretty sure he's added weight to play tackle in the NFL and I'm sure that's taken away some of that flexibility.

Not entirely sure about adding weight.  From what I can recall he's always been listed around 345 from the time he decided to do the NFL International Camp.  Maybe before that he may have put on a little weight to get ready for the camp, but pretty sure from that camp til now he's pretty much been right around 345.

Do people still believe Wentz makes this an attractive job for a HC candidate?

This has become laughable to me. This is not a minimum wage job. It’s one of 32 jobs at the highest level of football. With a ridiculously rabid fan base.
They have a talented F’d up QB. There will be several qualified candidates willing to cut a nut off for this job.
YES this is a highly desirable job.

Yeah. I really don't know if I could watch this team if that's the case.
