Lots of WRs in this draft. Wasnt a fan of the Lemon archetype with a glaring need at outsize WR. But we will see...

If this is a Shanahan/McVay style offense then it’s going to be more qb friendly. The reads are not complex. The hardest part is the footwork. It doesn’t take a great arm. Do I expect miscues? Yes, but I hope the improvement in design makes it easier for them to be efficient. The talent level at receiver is above average vs most teams. The oline should be above average. Hurts just needs to be ok for the team to win.The greatest variable here I suspect is time. There is no way we can have a fully functional offense right out of the gate. Granting that, I expect the offense to evolve in stages. I’m not smart enough to time that out. However, our resident "realist” notwithstanding, I expect a mature offense by week 10. I further expect Hurts to do very well in it. I view Purdy as the least talented QB in the league, smart but with a rag arm. Hurts is way better than that. I think we start with a fairly conservative game plan, rely on the defense, run a lot of OZ and short stuff with a few deep shots, and build from there.47 minutes ago, mikemack8 said:Of all the players on the roster, Lane needs reps the least.

We have talented vets and the concepts have been tried and true. My concern is the ability of Manion to assess the opponent, develop a game plan, call plays, and adjust in-game.
Yesterday at 03:57 PM1 day OT Cameron Williams back is good news at least. The O line depth having injuries is concerning.
