Why in the hell would he want to do an extension after a down season, and with the 2024 class (Caleb, Nix, Daniels, Maye) up for extensions next offseason? Hell, he likely thought Lamar would also reset the market this offseason since he has only a partial guarantee for 2026 and nothing for 2027 (Jalen is fully guaranteed for 2026 and partial 2027). This whole narrative was spread by the world's most retarded "reporter," ESP, who kept claiming the Eagles could get cap relief.

No it's not just ESP, I've heard other reporters mention it and not necessarily this offseason, but more along the lines of "When Hurts signed his contract, he was the highest paid QB in football, now he's farther down the list, he's going to think he deserves to be higher up."

Whether or not he gets that remains to be seen, I don't think he's going to. In fact, I'm not even sure he'll be here next year.

Fans fall for this all the time. Reporters, bloggers, anyone with a Twitter account makes up speculation, make guesses or predictions and then fans say "people are reporting it" or "there's buzz around..."

In this case he even said it's "being speculated." Coming soon "where there's smoke..."
