Dalton and Tanner feels like Howie being stubborn that he was wrong about bringing Daton in and not wanting to give up on Tanner. We don't really have a backup QB

They had a golden chance to IR Stowers instead of Bennett. He has a legit hamstring and no way he would play the first four games in a meaningful capacity. That would have saved a spot. Waiving Underwood and putting him on the practice squad would have been another. Nobody is claiming Underwood and if they did Cal Adomitis is available. Howie is usually good at stuff like that.

Between Dalton, Jenkins, Moore and Underwood - 4 potential spots to try and protect some younger talent like Uar and Weru.

I think the biggest gripe I have about this roster, same as last years roster, is that there has been no real return specialists. If Covey gets claimed, they are screwed unless they get lucky and a guy falls in their laps from these cuts.

You can’t dress all 53 players, and by definition the bottom of your roster is made up of JAGs.

Finding a replacement level player for your 52nd best player is easy. Finding a replacement level prospect for Bernard or Weru is difficult.

I would have rolled with at least one of them on the 53. Probably Weru and IR’d Bernard.

You can certainly carry at least 1 all year and keep that inactive all year. Way more chance that a Bernard gets claimed than EJ Jenkins

I don’t think Covey is subject to waivers. Just a free agent.

Someone will claim him. QB prospects with legitimate tools to work with are valuable.

I think we are just scared to death of the QB situation and want options if Hurts gets injured, hoping if one of McKee/Dalton sucks the other one can step in.

A TE should at least be incoming. Looks like they want to carry 4 TEs but surely will try and get someone better than EJ on the roster.

Howie will be making moves. Example last year he traded for Bigsby after the regular season started.

Just very disappointed in general. I know this isn't final but they could have saved four spots and instead kept Dalton, Jenkins, Underwood and didn't IR Stowers with the right to return. I would LOL if somebody told me that Dalton, Jenkins and Underwood would be claimed.

Yeah, it's not like they can be expected to go from zero football to making a 53. There are PS spots but a team just wasted a summer working with them to possibly lose them. The players spent time learning a system (along with football) to have to start over. If they are serious about international players they need to do what you said.

Howie had a bad day today! Dang. But will reserve final judgement to see what trades or pickups he makes. There's definitely some dreck left to eliminate from the roster is the only good news. Can chop Jenkins. Can chop Dalton. A CB or 2. Can chop the LS. So, I see a swing of up to 5 roster spots changing. Think he adds an OL still. Hopefully Majors and Williams make it to PS. Weru and Bernard are slightly surprising, but they were light years away and I trust Fangio there.
