Who realistically could end up being the Eagles backup QB that is undoubtedly better than McKee and/or Dalton? I’m curious since most of you think they both suck and there’s just a plethora of better options available.

Not undoubtedly better but McCord and Dillon Gabriel might be good developmental Qbs. Both have shown something in preseason. Just spitballing options off the top of my head of 3rd qbs who might be cut

Milton from Dallas has looked really good but I'd guess the boys would want way too much in a trade for him.

Howie reclamation project?

Quality journalism.

Eagles bring him in for a tryout.

Journalist, I wonder if the Eagles have interest.

No, not really. Just bored trimming the roster and wanted to watch a workout for the LOL’s.

He’s an old timer EMB poster who posts his thoughts to Twitter now as a hobby, not a journalist.

Also said wondered as in he thought of it before the tryout

Curious, if they liked Reiger, why not draft him instead of James-Newby? This feels like a PS tryout.

Yeah... the expectation that we have THE best backup QB in the league at all times isnt really realistic.

Eagles have the best backup QB in the league. Only problem is he is currently 1st on the depth chart.

Cowboys are having a good offseason.

Isn’t that like their thing?

Feels like usually their offseason is full of drama and this one has been pretty quiet

Nah, Eagles are stacked on the DL.

I mean couldn't hurt to put him on the PS but zinwouldnt expect much.

Dude was a beast in college but the NFL is a different beast.

True. I just meant the whole "they blesses up this offseason and are ready for a run” thing.

I do think they’ll be way better on defense though.

That’s dramatic. They both looked like what they are, backups… Those two as the 2/3 is better than at least 75% of what other teams have.

I disagree. I think they might have looked like two of the worst backups this entire preseason. I get they aren’t starters but they couldn’t complete a pass passed the LOS for the most part and both their arms looked noodled. There are plenty of bad backups in the league that at least completed a pass or two.

(I always thought McKees mechanics looked like a claymation character anyway though)

That is true.

Howie likes to bring in guys for a look-see in case of injury or players being poached off the PS.

Geez, that contingency would make Howie proud

Best #2 QB/#2 RB in league history

He has definitely improved his touch, not firing missiles at receivers as much. Last night wasn't his best showing compared to the first two preseason games. Howell looked better last night than Milton did imo. I have no idea what DAL plans are between those two guys, like eveyone else they have some tough decisions to make. SI published an article two days ago estimating a 4th or 5th for Milton, late round pick swap for Howell...

Don't recall how Dallas got him but that was someone Howie should've been a step ahead to grab.

Dallas traded a 5th to New England for him.

We do not have a capable backup qb, no matter how much we want McKee to be one.

Agree.

He looked like he could be a solid backup or even trade piece then the wheels fell off for whatever reason.

That's a young Stephen A...you know your team has had it rough when he is still laughing at them and he looks like a grandfather now.😂
