Something i thought about yesterday, we need the rams to keep winning games. If we keep losing and they keep losing we're going to be fighting them for Mestemaker or Mensah (if either make it past the Jets and Dolphins), if they're even top 15 I bet they mortgage whatever picks they have left to grab one of them to take over for Stafford. Though they could also gamble on Manning later in the draft (if he declares) and have him sit behind Stafford for a year.

I'm way out on Chambliss, dude is gonna be geriatric by the time he matures as a QB.

Rams took a QB first round this year and don't have a first next year

Goedert, Woolen, Nolan Smith, Baun and Ojomo should all be on the block tomorrow AM if we lose tonight.

Definitely not Baun. That would only make sense if you could say Trotter and Campbell are the future. Obviously, Campbell is heading down the path of having a very short NFL career at this point. We will need to keep Baun if we plan to contend next year, which should be the plan.

The rest can go as they are not likely part of the future plans.

Barring a miracle we will lose tonight. Hoping otherwise because a loss to the scumbag copukes is a terrible slap.

That said I doubt Howie goes berserk and trades a bunch of good players away.

As bad as we feel don't forget this is an injury plagued year and a new (horrible at this point) oc.

I could see him selling to buy. Trade a few players and use those assets to bring in a good player who will help in the future.

I saw someone mention Jackson Powers-Johnson. A guy like him probably makes more sense than Quentin Nelson with his giant contract and already 30 years old. JPJ is only 23 years old. Thats a Howie move.

I dont think Howie would ever just fire sale to tank. Howie will always want to at least maintain the illusion of competitiveness.

The injuries are bad…but this team was going nowhere this year even without them. We could see how this offense looked with everyone dressed. Did the injuries yank the bottom out? Sure.

The offense has literally zero players outside of Smith and Mailata that can reliably be penciled into anything for the long term future. They’ve got a couple guys who might stick into something meaningful as they grow, but it won’t be much. It’s going to be a bad offense for a while.

How long was the offense fully healthy this season? 1 week? And guys were banged up all throughout training camp as well. This team has really never been healthy at all this year, including summer time.

Im not saying theyll get healthy and suddenly itll look good. Theyll get healthy and in like week 10 or whenever that happens, theyll all still be brand new to the system, and still trying to gel in it together.

There are flaws that wont be fixable by health, so I agree its likely going nowhere. They seem nearly as predictable as the Patullo offense was. The OL coach doesnt belong above maybe the high school level. Those things wont be fixed this year.

However, they have a heck of a lot more talent than youve given them credit for.

As for your two guys who are part of the future- I dont think Mailata is very long term.... not saying he retires after this year but I dont think he is going to be playing many more years.

You may be right on Mailata, but it’s tricky to count out OL. Some of them keep going at a high level for a while.

But the OL injuries don’t count. This OL was broken down, permanently so. A 29 year old workhorse rb being unavailable for long stretches isn’t exactly bad luck either. Same with Goedert.

Smith and Hurts were the only real blows they took that were true added insult. The rest of this mess is just the personnel Howie took to the dance this year.

100% agree with the first statement. And the offense does look bleak...but perhaps by the EOS we will see a future in guys like Lemon, Stowers (assuming they let him play at some point), Bell, Kendall and Lampkin. Maybe not "studs", but players who show signs of playing well and contributing...at least "role players", etc. D. Cooper looks like a good WR3/4 type. Then of course there's Hurts.

OL must be revamped even if any of the 3 I listed above show decent signs...all 3 could be "ok" but better suited as backups. We need legit talent infusion. Prob also need another WR.

It just sounded to me like Mailata wasnt planning on playing till he is really old. And that quote he gave was before Lane abruptly retired, and Jurgens got traded, and Dickerson got IRd because he cant move. I think Mailata seeing all that stuff happen is going to accelerate his retirement plan even sooner.

I felt like he might play another 2 or 3 years. Now I wouldnt rule out sooner either. He seems a little EMO, like Embiid when JJ Reddick left.

Forgot the Rams drafted Simpson last year facepalm well that's better for is, we'll likely be fighting the jets and dolphins then

Unfortunate that Dickerson is supposedly playing tonight. I'd rather see some continuity on the line than watch him struggle to move and block anyone for another game. Maybe they're hoping he plays halfway decent and they can fleece another team for a broken OL

The talent for the top 5 picks of this upcoming draft projects as being uniquely strong, particularly the top 2.

Over the years, the eagles have had top 10 picks in drafts that were frustratingly considered weaker at the top (although Howie has done really well with those picks).

We are staring down the barrel of a totally lost season just 6 weeks in. If Howie is truly interested in the tippy top of the draft, they really could "make a run for it.” This team isn’t THAT bad and the division is so bad, which make it difficult. (Although their horrible strength of schedule will help in tie breakers): it would be a choice. And it’s a choice they almost certainly won’t make.

But it’s not totally impossible.

A tanked season for us probably looks like picking around 12 and have to make a big trade if he wants someone who falls outside of the top 5.

3-14 would be interesting. I think the Chargers, Commanders, and Jets will win more than 3 games.

Dolphins just beat the Jets. Titans would be a problem, especially considering that we beat them. But they have a #1 overall pick at QB; they don’t want to tank.

My thinking is, we arent getting #1, and Mestemaker. Outside of that then, I have very little interest in being top 5 if we arent going to draft Jeremiah Smith.

So Im alright with pretty much wherever we end up. Doesnt feel like we need to be the best tankers. Outside of those two players, it might be all pretty equal and just depend on what you are looking for.

Well it’s about top 2; you’re right.

We’ll learn more tonight. If they show some life, great, forget about it. If they look like last week, I’m not really sure who they are going to beat, ever, for the rest of the year.

The best thing I can say about the game tonight? I don't have to stay up and watch it! I hate these late night games...by the time you watch and finally fall asleep it's closer to 1am! I have ZERO interest in watching two low to mediocre teams try and Gump a victory. I'm good with hitting record and watching it tomorrow!

Gameday - Time to go out and get a W.

I’d like a top 5 pick not for who we may draft but could see Howie doing what we did in the 2021 draft where we moved back and stockpile more picks. We tanked the last game and got 6th. Imo if there’s not a QB they love top 5 and you don’t get smith, i can see them trading back to get more picks.

Stowers might play? In this economy?!?!? With the season on the line?!?!

If the Eagles lose the next two games and sell, I see very few winnable games left on the schedule. Colts and Cardinals are about it and even those teams I'd say right now are playing better football than the Eagles. Right this second on 10/26 I think the Eagles are playing the worst football in the NFL. A top 5 pick is definitely in play if the Eagles lose the next two then sell so have even less talent on the roster for the rest of the season,

Just a reminder when we all have to watch that WR bubble screen on third and long tonight...

Nick Sirianni has a record of 13-16 (.448) when coaching the Philadelphia Eagles without either Shane Steichen or Kellen Moore as his offensive coordinator.

Pretty good article by breer where the future is cloudy but the eagles have also been planning on some of this that he explains

This Eagles season has been pathetic so far but it could still make me happy by sweeping Dallas , 😂. Lets go Birds!
