The season didn't get any better after that loss.Nope. 3-13 season. I became a season ticket holder in 99, but in 98, I bought a family friend’s tickets after that opener. I suffered thru the rest of that season live. I remember getting excited for Duce Staley to break the 1000 yard mark in the season finale against the Giants, but also cheering for the loss to secure that #2 overall pick.

He never fights back against the front office and just goes with the flow. While the fans might not like him because he is combative, he is the perfect head coach for Lurie and Howie. He takes the pressure off of them and places it on himself.Hurts is the perfect QB for them. He doesn't care about stats, he cares about winning. If that means he has to run and play ball control he will run. If that means he has to pass to win, he will pass. Terrible for fantasy but great for the team. Winning is the only thing that matters.Hurts is like the anti Rodgers.Even if this year is a failure, I can't see them making wholesale changes.Pretty much on point.Hurts is the most underrated player in the NFL. All he does is win, 5 straight PO seasons as a starter, outplayed Mahomes in both SBs.He's not the most physically talented QB (but I'm old enough to remember Montana), but is "Cool Hand Jalen" in the big games - compare to say Allen. He'll figure out this offense, which is built for someone like him, won't have to hold the ball for 4-5 seconds then rifle it into to tight windows - he'll need a little time for it to become second nature b/c it's so different than most of the systems he's run, but once he does, look for him to go on ridiculous stretches with 75+% completion rates, etc. Because he'll quickly go through progressions and someone will be open - not "open" like the last few seasons with a defender within a half step.I remember AR's WCO scheme and how it worked with QBs like Garcia, even Detmer. McNabb and Vick had the tools, but had to see receivers open, Hurts has the QB brains to anticipate them coming open. And this sort of scheme isn't WR dependent, or even has to have an ultra-talented TE, It needs smart players who know their assignments, run precise routes and catch the ball. You don't need 6'2 210 4.35 guys. You do need a full stable of competent guys. The player who could really blossom is Barkley, b/c Bigsby will take some of the pounding off him, but his open field skills and size (pray for CBs) means he could be a holy terror as a receiver, whether on screens, outlets or wheel routes. The one thing I don't want to see are the throw to outlet RBs standing still - too easy to tackle - want to design the play so they're moving when they catch the ball.

And we both said "That was IT??!!” A bunch of "Christmasy booths” selling overpriced, silly knickknacks. It was a craft/crap show, that’s all. Skip it.If memory serves, it's Mrs. Appalachian Eagle that wants to go to Christmas Village. If she wants to go they should go. Happy Wife Happy Life after all.

Cause he has crapped the bed in every wild card loss they have. So yes he has played great in 2 super bowls, he's been average or below average on almost every other playoff appearance. Can't play well in "the big game" of you cant get there. And no, obviously you arent going to get there every year. But he has played like crap in more playoff games than he has played well

They weren't a deviation from normal. Those SB performances were a deviation. That's not baseline Jalen Hurts. So I'll absolutely call him a clutch big game QB. He's not like that in every season-defining playoff game, but he has done it in 2 SB's and that counts for a lot.And this is why Jalen Hurts is controversial. He's not that good at baseline and has been at his best in the biggest games.

Put up 35 points, 304 yards in SB2024 - TB, blown out but more on OL, Hurts 25-35 250 yards, 1 TD, no turnovers, but RBs 14-37. Smith had big game, but Jones, Watkins, Zacheaus, there's a reason they traded for Brown2025 - GB, conservative, only threw for 131, but 2 TDs, 0 turnovers, in a tight game, made the plays that mattered. Rams, 15-20 128, 7 sacks but ran for 70, no turnovers, Barkley went for 209, but Hurts drove for two key FGs for 7 point lead before Barkley's big run put the game awayRedskins, 20-28 246, 1 TD passing, 3 TDs rushing.KC - stop putting up stats up 34-0What's interesting was against two tough defenses, the WRs were taken away, this was a warning sign that became apparent in 2025 season, that the passing scheme wasn't very sophisticated and was easily defended - but the OL and Barkley hide this with the running game. In 2025, when the OL broke down and they couldn't run at will, they couldn't pass their way out of trouble. This wasn't on Hurts, how often did you see him holding the ball in the pocket waiting for someone to come open? After his first PO game, Hurts has thrown for TEN TDs and ONE interception in 9 PO games, as well as 3 fumbles, but only 1 lost. This is not an accident, this is what Siri wants. When you can run the ball and play good defense, you don't want a QB playing hero ball and blowing games. The reason Hurts wins is he can swallow his ego, play a conservative game that limits his counting stats, but when needed can open up or use his legs to make plays.
