@mattwill the eagles will be 13-4 this season and likely win the super bowl. As of this moment they have about a 60% chance to win the super bowl. That will increase to about 99% by week 12 or so.

Theyll beat Washington this week 37-15. Barkley will rush for 125 yards and 2 TDs. He will also have a receiving TD.

Ive come a long way on my arch nemesis Wicks- still primed to have us all smashing our TVs with maddening drops, but they will be mostly glossed over because Wicks is also going to lead the team in receptions and receiving TDs. Raining on Smith's coming out party everyone expected.

I would disagree as a dominant DL can disrupt timing. Plus if you have the corners you can play alot of robber cover-3 although that has fallen out of style lately

We have seen a dominant DL somewhat neutralized by poor LBs allowing a quick passing game to pick us apart.

Of course, it depends if a DL can be even more dominant than ours, or if the passing attack can be efficient enough to do it.

I mean look at our 2023 defense, slay and bradberry (although he was not good that year) with a very good D line and it didnt matter because teams were murdering us in the middle of the field because we had 2 guys who couldn't cover and the ball would be out in 2 seconds.

We were routinely getting carved up by nobodies even with a great line and at least one very good corner

If Wicks is killing it and Eagles win the Superbowl. That means Hurts is having an MVP type season and is now in the Hall of Fame conversation. You have come a long way in your belief in Hurts!

In such a case, there will be voters who recognize the shortcomings. But for the most part, context gets forgotten and W/L is all that most remember. With those things being said, he would probably be a long shot for first ballot. But would very likely get in.

Every QB in the NFL has shortcomings, outside of Mahomes. And he even has come down to earth recently. You're either a winner or you're not. That's how you are judged ultimately. There's no flukes, if he wins 2 Superbowls and was dynamic in another. We will see. I think the exclamation point is coming with a career year out of Hurts, as he proves all the doubters wrong....once again.

I hope so. The most likely scenario is that the D and run game carry the team again. But I would LOVE to see a dominant passing attack to go along with those other things too. One thing we havent witnessed in this era of a damn near eagle dynasty is every facet of the team clicking at once. If Hurts can operate in the Mannion offense, this could finally be the year.
