I’m purely speculating here….but it sounds like the Eagles knew this was coming for several days and went out of their way to keep it under the radar until the game day inactive list came out.

They love their privacy and they love withholding every last ounce of info from the other team. It won’t take the Rams long to create a game plan designed to stress a patchwork OL, but better they salivate now than having all week to scheme it up, make it worse, and anticipate the Eagles adapting into a short drop quick release passing offense.

Then why not elevate someone yesterday and go into the game with only two backup OL and 47 people dressed

It was clearly a last minute thing guys. No need to overthink this.

Steen has extensive collegiate OT experience. Anything happens to a tackle and Steen kicks out and will be replaced by Lampkin or Morris.

Blame McNabb

That’s a question I assume the Philly media will be astute enough to force the Eagles to answer in the coming week.

Another possibility is they expected Lane to play today and were caught off guard.

"Lane got his steak well done this week. The writing was on the wall! damn it Sirianni!"

Probably…but how last minute is it if Lane was absent all week?

Lovely. The D will need to be lights out and get several TOs for this game to be close. Don't see it happening.

Yep. The future is now

I do think they need to start planning for the future. Lane is retiring, Landon may not come back, Jurgens looks washed. This team is headed for a rebuild.

I don’t disagree with all of you saying it’s a last minute surprise.

But when a player has missed multiple games for mental health issues in the past and was out all week from practice, how do you allow this to be a last minute surprise?

That’s just irresponsible.

I think the rams break our dominance over them today. I don't see us winning. No offense to speak of and our best defensive player out. Tell me how we win?

There was zero indication he missed practice all week, though?

The return of the NFC least. God Washington is bad. We are meh. Cowboys have no defense and giants has no QB.

It's looking that way atm imo

He was not absent all week. He was at practice. He was even on social media giving away tickets to the game.

Same way we got blown out be a 3rd string qb last week. Same way AJ Feeley on a not very good eagles team nearly beat a Patriots dynasty team in 2007.

The eagles have a way of turning the odds upside down, both good and bad, in heavily shorthanded matchups.

I’m not expecting a win, but I’m expecting them to keep it way closer than anyone expects.

This I agree with. Sometimes our coaches seem reactionary instead of visionary.

He practiced all week.....

I was just basing it off the smattering of posts here and in the ether that he wasn’t at practice all week. Maybe he was and it came as a true shock. Sounds like all the info isn’t out there yet.

This is a loss, no point in thinking otherwise.

The only thing that I am looking forward to is seeing how Lemon and Bell do today.

You're going to ruin your rep if you're not careful

Yes, but was his heart in it?

I hope Markell bell take this opportunity and runs with it.

Game Day MFers!

Im more steady in my opinion than anyone gives me credit for. They are a good team, just not nearly as good as most people on here consistently think. And then usually quite a bit better than those same people think on game day when they emotionally crash under the realization that they aren’t as good as their unrealistic viewpoint.
