October 9Oct 9 Just now, Sack that QB said:While I think it is true that Howie trading Jurgens doesn't = him punting on the season per se. But it's not like Kendall got hurt during practice and blindsided them. They traded the guy knowing Majors will probably have to go from practice squad to starting an important game for them. That says something and I don't think it's just "It was an offer we couldn't refuse"If this was a team that looked great about to head into an NFC East matchup where winner takes control of the division... not sure he approaches it the same way.Cams still in the concussion protocol so he wouldn’t have played either anyway
October 9Oct 9 Cam Jurgens might be an okay center in due time. But he was the worst guard in football. Any trade was a good one. He was hurting the team (literally, when he injured Kendall & almost knocked over Hurts in the most critical play of game). No reason to look into anything but that. He stinks at guard and whoever goes in there will be better. It's addition by subtraction. And even if Jurgens becomes average at Center, which he wasn't the last year and change, the center position was trading from a position of strength.

October 9Oct 9 Hey we have Jurgens replacement at Center, Kendall is doing pretty well so faaaaaaaa-------aaaaaaand, he's hurt too.😭

October 9Oct 9 In a weird way, I'm really looking forward to this game because I'm ready to see how the young guys hold up. With all the injuries last week, most people expected us to get blown out. Instead we should have won the game (we didn't really deserve to win), but there were some encouraging signs. I, perhaps incorrectly, think we do win that game if (i) Jurgens doesn't bump into Hurts on 3rd and goal and (ii) Q plays the 2nd half. Here's what I want to see:Bell - for a guy who got no reps and found out he was starting 2-3 hours before kickoff, he showed some good things. There are going to be growing pains, and no one will be Lane (just left on an island all game), but there seems to be real potential.Lampkin - well, can he do it against starters in the regular season? We're about to find out. Jurgens is a very low bar to clear.Majors - same as Lampkin, how will he look against better competition. I'd rather see Kendall, obviously.Cooper - 2 TDs last week, 3 on the season. Seems to be somewhat living up to the training camp hype.Lemon - no more screens, as he seems to be getting open down the field if only Hurts had time to find him.Trotter Jr - if Campbell is out or limited, maybe he gets more snaps. We've all talked about the need to transition the offense to younger, cheaper options while we absorb deferred cap hits for guys that are no longer here (Lane, Cam, AJ). If some of these guys become valuable, they're all cheap and cost controlled. The division is wide open - 9 wins probably wins the east. We may actually be able to rebuild while remaining in the mix.

And I honestly think history will prove that to be true, despite Eagles fans and local media taking great offense to that.
October 9Oct 9 The McNabb years caused me to overweight a QB’s clutch gene. I don’t care about a winning record every year, or how "what the QB position is supposed to look like,” etc. It’s about winning Super Bowls. So in that light, I’m a fan of Jalen Hurts. But I think it’s totally fair to be concerned by how Hurts will age. He’s short, relies on athletic ability, and his passing game is defined by the deep ball. Essentially he’s Russell Wilson with swagger, and Wilson aged like milk. The Seahawks set up their next generation by selling Wilson at franchise QB value. I think it’s fair to start considering that for us, as Howie gets back into builder mode.
October 9Oct 9 Lampkin - under contact this year (~$895k) and next year (~$1.12mm). Restricted FA after 2027 so still under our control. Kendall - under contract for 2027 and 2028 at salaries of $1.12mm and $1.235mm. UFA after 2028.Bell - under contract through 2029 on rookie deal. If even one of these guys works out, that's a homerun.

But the Eagles current line situation is probably at least part of the reason Howie got such an insane return for an interior lineman who is a shadow of himself. He would’ve been crazy to not take that offer
October 9Oct 9 I'm excited to see Willie play on Sunday. He put the clamps on Deone Walker, who has 8 inches on him and has been killing it with Buffalo this season, at the Senior Bowl last year. He plays with fierceness and I think he's instantly better than Jurgens at guard the second he steps on the field.

Our defense dismantled the Chiefs in that Superbowl. Joe Burrow has not had a 2000 yard rusher, and has never had any semblance of an average defense, let alone a good or a great one.Instead of celebrating that we have had good drafting, good FA signings, good trades, a front office that is exceptionally good, so much so that it has led to SBs, we say we only won because our front office is better than all the rest. It's a wierd dynamic: we've been great but only because we have been great at constructing great teams. If we weren't great at building great teams we'd suck like the Bengals because our QB cant win without great players around them. Stafford didn't win until he had a great team around him, obviously Burrows has not won, Allen hasn't. What I would say is if they had a GM like Howie Burrows, Allen, Dak, Herbert (name a QB you love that hasn't won or played in a SB) would have won SBs. But they don't and we do.

He would’ve been crazy to not take that offerI think it's this simple: Kendall + Lampkin > Kendall + Jurgens. Because Jurgens was that awful, especially at LG. Jurgens wouldn't have played this week, so it's not like he could have slid back to center this week to play next to Lampkin at LG, and they clearly think Kendall is a better option at C than Jurgens (that's why they moved Jurgens in the 1st place). Without the trade, it would have still been Majors + Lampkin at C/LG, since neither Jurgens nor Kendall were healthy.
October 9Oct 9 Small dick losers in here that diminish his accomplishments while openly rooting for him fail so they can be "right" on a message board deserve to have someone like Jaxson Dart as their QB honestly

Hurts doesn't have franchise QB value anywhere but Philly, IMO.It's a QB-hungry league but, as you alluded to, Hurts' game is very close to aging out.
October 9Oct 9 I’ve never seen Lampkin play football in my life. But being shy of 5’11” and 280 is a brutal, if not comical limitation for an NFL OG. I think people are making a lot of unreasonably optimistic assumptions about how he’s going to play.

Maybe most of them, sure, but all bets are off with that position and some haven’t hit on 1 for legit a decade-plus.
