So the Cowboys defense still absolutely stinks. I have to imagine they'll be hunting for defensive help at the deadline. Their secondary is so awful.

If the Eagles decide to be sellers and Dallas gives the best offer for Woolen, would you be cool trading him to Dallas and helping them?

I don’t even know that I want to trade him but if I did, couldn’t Minnesota take him

I’ve never seen Lampkin play football in my life. But being shy of 5’11” and 280 is a brutal, if not comical limitation for an NFL OG. I think people are making a lot of unreasonably optimistic assumptions about how he’s going to play.

He was great in preseason.

And that's with Tampa Bay playing a rookie QB. Bucky Irving ran for 165 yards, Daniels passed for 189.

Mahomes couldn't win with a bad OL. Joe hasn't done crap with good teams. And to be fair Hurts outplayed Mahomes twice. I like Burrows but I'm not trading Hurts and a first for a guy always hurt who thought about retiring already even if he says that changed. He may ne a better QB but I'll stick with the proven winner since both need good teams.

It's really a lot more about getting someone who actually throws the ball on time. I've said this, but his lack of throwing the ball on time, consistently, is really why I'm not the biggest Jalen fan. I always said things like "But when you don't have a vanguard OL, being that slow to throw the ball doesn't work", which was usually countered by "But he's Super Bowl MVP!" because....well...

Being called a proven winner is usually used to distract away from his actual gameplay, which is a big part of what we're seeing. If throwing the ball on time is a requirement...he's not great at it.

Fun fact, throwing the ball on time is also a requirement of Reich/Sirianni tree offenses to stay effective under tape scrutiny. That's really all I want: Jalen throwing on time, or finding someone who can. Because not having someone who can do that will hold us back in the future, unless we can have a top 5 line every year again.

This is a nice Jason Kelce fluff piece about his time in London doing Kelce things.

Former Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl winner Jason Kelce stuns amateur London rugby players by showing up for a practice game.

Justice for Beau Allen for being the afterthought in this article.

There lies in your problem and not knowing ball and being able to assess that Howie had better answers this season with the OL when it was likely our top 3 dogs could fail. How about if we wait at least a week or 2 before any further knee jerk reactions occur here by yourself. This OL is young, hungry and athletic. And will make strides throughout this season. Looking forward to seeing their progress.

I am guessing Ryan know it was Sirianni that blamed Stoutland.

Nope

Instead of celebrating that we have had good drafting, good FA signings, good trades, a front office that is exceptionally good, so much so that it has led to SBs, we say we only won because our front office is better than all the rest. It's a wierd dynamic: we've been great but only because we have been great at constructing great teams. If we weren't great at building great teams we'd suck like the Bengals because our QB cant win without great players around them. Stafford didn't win until he had a great team around him, obviously Burrows has not won, Allen hasn't. What I would say is if they had a GM like Howie Burrows, Allen, Dak, Herbert (name a QB you love that hasn't won or played in a SB) would have won SBs. But they don't and we do.

We are talking about the benefit a mid QB is getting from those great teams. Non superbowl playoff games, the Eagles lost 15-31 to Tampa Bay, 9-32 to Tampa Bay, and 19-23 to SF. Especially the SF game, the defense got 100% of the blame from the Hurts truthers.

Josh Allen has lost 7 playoff games. In 5 of those losses, he scored enough points to beat the 49ers. In one of those games, he scored enough points to have won all 3 of the games listed above. He has lost playoff games scoring 24, 36, 24, 29 and 30 points. The other two losses 19 points scored on the road in an OT loss, and 10 points against the Bengals the year they went to the superbowl.

Allen has won playoff games 27-24, 34-31, 27-25, 27.24. All of these occasions, if the Eagles had lost by a score, the defense would be to blame.

Taking out superbowls, Hurts is 5-3 in the playoffs. The 3 losses the Eagles have averaged 14.3 PPG. In the wins, 3 times the opponent has scored 10 or less points. They beat the Rams 28-22 in a game that Hurts accounted for 191 yards of total offense and 1 TD, a game that Barkley dominated with 205 rushing yards and 2 TD's, and the defense forced two turnovers and had 7 sacks. The last one is the 55-23 game against WAS. The defense forced 4 turnovers, had 3 sacks, and the Eagles had a bunch of short fields.

Saying all that, Allen, Burrow and others have always had to do more with less.

Well, when they are missing like 10 out of 11 starters and a bunch of the primary backups. Now its like we are fielding a week 4 pre-season offense.

At the start of the season? Not lacking talent.

I think you missed an opportunity to take a shot at Hurts.

I guess you all finally see that the offense has a talent problem.

If by talent you are referring to the coaching, then I agree.

Looking like Jake Majors will start

Would prefer Lampkin at C and Morris at G. Morris gives the interior a lot more size than Majors. Hope it works out.

I know the argument- it's been beaten to death on here for years. The real point is that it takes a team with a lot of talent to win a SB regardless of how good the QB is. Mediocre QBs have won a lot of SBs because they had the best team. Plenty of top end QBs have won nothing because their teams aren't good enough. Our good fortune is we have a front office that understands this dynamic and manages team building beautifully.

You’ve clearly been right about the OL so far. You know ball!

Was just thinking of several times in the last several years where even 1 hole on the OL could wreck everything and cause a domino effect. Missing Lane Johnson has always been a bad thing. And Brandon Brooks is a another example. Yes. They were all worldly. But we had not one but two leaky faucets this year. And last. If Kendall continues to do what he's doing and Lampkin does even just good at LG then it's a game changer to the whole OL. We literally had 2 cripples playing OL and next to each other, which compounded things. Getting 5 healthy bodies going here is going to be monumental in the running game in getting more movement especially in the 2nd level. And in pass protection with anchoring and not being so stiff. We were super limited and broken.

All this just to release Andy Dalton. I mean better late than never, but what a Fing mess roster management has been this season.

Howie has butchered roster management this season

Thanks for absolutely nothing, Andy.
