The good news is that his fiance would not move to Philadelphia with him so he could actually focus.

She could attend the home games as long as she didn't arrive the day before.

And yet, parents and coaches will be asking next time their kid gets cleated.

Can we really assume the flight is what caused the change? My guess is that its more likely another hit in the game caused it.

If we could know it was because of the flight, then its an easy answer to get the parent to calm down.

If not, its just a trust me bro situation.

Parents are free to ask, it's up to them to decide if the cost is worth ruling out anything potentially dangerous. The doctor will consider the risk factors and give their recommendation based on what they can see and what they know. But obviously parents from low income areas aren't gonna be able to afford the deductible, let alone pay oop if the insurance doesn't cover it, so again I think you're overlooking some obvious reasons why it's not analogous to what happens with a professional athlete making $50M/yr.

The most Eagles thing that could happen is that McKee rips off 3-4 straight wins creating a controversy as far as what to do when Hurts gets healthy. So I’m going to assume that happens.

Since when is winning football games a bad thing? Yeah, it could certainly get 'entertaining'.

Doesn't Hurts need to say yes since he has a no trade clause? There's no way in hell Hurts says yes to the Chargers

I continue to assume that it wont be hard to get Hurts to waive the clause. His relationship with Siri has never been good.

Hes always dealt with criticism in the city despite successes. And he also deals with it from the national media.

He has made a ton of money and won a super bowl. Owes nothing else to the city. Might be interested in getting to prove himself elsewhere. And a new HC who is not Siri would seem to be very enticing for him.

Seeing Herbert/Eagles trade tossed around on facebook crap sites.

I wish the contract wasnt impossible to absorb because if he has damaged his value enough yet, a mid round pick would be so worth the entertainment value it would provide to see the Herbert Haterz whine every week about him sucking here.

That and Madison Beer every week. Although she’d probably dump him if he had to live in Philly

I can’t see him getting traded

I'm rooting for it, I'd rather have those problems than everyone sucking. Ill never ever root for tanking, I can't stand seeing the Eagles lose.

If there was some clear cut other very good team in the division, I might be in for the tank side but there isn’t. F the rest of these scrub teams in the East. I don’t support folding when Jameis Winston is leading the division, Dallas just lost to an 0-4 Bucs team QB’d by a rookie, and Jayden Daniels botched the end of that Giants game like a moron.

This division is too incompetent to just lie down and give it up. They haven’t earned that right. It’s still ours until someone rips it from our blood-clotted, injury-ridden hands.

There's his legacy and just not wanting to play for a crap organization though. No way he says yes to Chargers

I thought the same thing with Wentz 🤷‍♂️

It’s your position he’ll have a choice of suitors when he leaves?

I would have liked at least to have good receiving options out there for McKee for the first time in his career. Extremely disappointing.

OTOH I wonder how much time McKee spent this summer with these receivers. I've read that the reason Riley Cooper played as well with Foles as he did is both were second string and developed some chemistry. We can hope. If Jalen is out 45 to 90 days as one vascular surgeon speculated, that's a pretty good chunk of the season.

Yes. It'll be limited but there are teams that would take him

Yeah. Chemistry is nice but the talent Im sure would be nicer to have. However it plays out, I hope he at least gets another game before they decide to go back to Dalton if McKee stinks this week.

Just once I want to see him with talent as pass catchers.

I dont mind the OL being what it is. Theyre alright. But I want him to have good WRs at least.

I really hope this happens now

yes because it moved.

Otherwise, a run of the mill contusion, is also "a clot" so no big deal obviously when someone has a bruise from a cleat.

Now that it moved = embolism = dangerous.

Sounds like it did not cause any issues or pain. There is nothing in their statement about him reporting any further issue after he initially presented following the rams game. Weeks have passed. He also played in a game, and days passed following that as well, without him complaining of redness, swelling, or additional pain.

It sounds like they just decided to ultrasound it, just because. As they said out of an "abundance of caution."

So at no point was this a known embolism. Until they found what they found today. That is, if today's statement is 100% truthful.

A contusion is clot, but it’s extravascular clot. It’s from bleeding. Brain contusion, thigh contusion, same principle.

What Hurts has is an intravascular clot. From the sound of things (and the eagles no doubt intentionally did not differentiate between the two), Hurts has a superficial thrombophlebitis….which is far less severe and less dangerous than a DVT. They were pretty vague in their terminology, but they did say superficial.

Direct local injury can cause it, stasis from a long flight can exacerbate it. Can’t really prove it.

Technically it’s an injury you can actually okay with. I’m wondering if the comment that "it moved” really means that it propagated….which is fine big picture but very problematic for this season.

Bottom line:

Superficial thrombophlebitis with questionable propagation ultimately proven to be stable: miss 1-2 games

Thrombophlebitis with clear propagation requiring anticoagulation: 6-7 weeks

DVT: 3 months if not all year

If Wicks doesn’t play, he’s getting a corps of Cooper, Hollywood, and Moore. Those are basically the guys he took the most reps with in camp.

I wish one of DeVonta or Saquon would be able to suit up but that doesn’t look like it’s happening.

I doubt anyone would. They'd have to flip the pick they get for him.

Why does it seem like every team but us can run a screen successfully?

not fair GIF

There is 1 wildcard for this weekend. Never seen McKee in a Mannion offense. Could be a match made in heaven like Purdy in SF. Wish the guy had any kind of mobility. We will see if Sirianni takes the stray jacket off and let's Mannion coach the kid.

Question is- when a player has a contusion, how often does a team really investigate it further to see if there is any intravascular clotting? I think even for NFL teams, its a stretch to believe they are ultrasounding each bruise they see.

The proof would be important here.

Lets say Hurts got cleated in the London game. If we KNOW its not safe to fly because the flight can exacerbate, then teams are going to have to get used to leaving players behind for...who knows how long?

Which seems ridiculous.

Also brings me back to the world cup question. Im sure tons of those players got cleated and flew halfway around the world to get home from the tournament. If it was known to exacerbate... then that shouldnt/wouldnt be happening, would it?

Thanks for the timelines. I had no idea.

I would guess the laymen terms would be different for propagation where theyd say it grew instead of, it moved. But you never know how the reporters are going to translate the medical terms they hear.

Barkley wont help. Barkley compounds the bad blocking with his dancing. Need a hammer. Barkley is not that and never was.
