If the play just "seemed to proceed as called for years", surely you can point to something to explain such a stark turnaround.

Is it OK to root for both McKee and Hurts? Many of you act as if cheering on both of them is the same as saying you’re an Eagles and Cowboys fanFor many of us, cheering for the eagles includes hoping for a good QB. Still thrilled when they win with Hurts, but still want better play at that position. Frustrated by "meat on the bone". Frustrated by every week, every win feeling so tumultuous because the QB is so inconsistent and we cant just win easy like the rest of the roster should be able to. In that context, frustrated by him holding the team back yes, Im aware they have won a super bowl with him). For the other side, Hurts went out and they started rooting for the team to lose immediately. Not even actual eagles fans.

But this whole narrative about McKee being some hero because he "knows the offense" is bottom-tier fanhood nonsense . If the OL looks like an NFL OL today, McKee has a chance. If not, and he gets the same level of play, he'll look much worse than Hurts because he has nowhere to run.

Thats why we see the hedging today about practice time and throwing mechanics.

They average 1.7 points in all other quarters.15 total combined 1st, 3rd and 4th quarters through 5 games.9 of 15 quarters they have been shut out.4 of 15 they have scored 3 points.2 of 15 they have scored 7 points.

And his arm isn’t strong enough for a lot of throws.PHI will continue to see more blitzes than most all, if not all teams until they can show they can protect against it or beat it with consistency. There isn’t a stat that is tracked for audibles called at the line but in watching more PHI football over the last few years I don’t see a lot of changes at the line, even with a healthy OLine. I’m not saying that’s on the QB, it’s just what I see. Trying to go more under center against cover 0 or more exotic blitzes without adjustments at the LOS is difficult for any offense. Is it by design or should more audibles be called? Maybe I’m just not seeing them and they’re actually being called.

If the play just "seemed to proceed as called for years", surely you can point to something to explain such a stark turnaround. In those years the OL was very good at picking up the blitz, Jalen had the escapability and mentality to try to make big plays with his legs when they didn’t, we had the targets on the outside to reliably catch the deep ball. We could even just kill to run to get a decent gain. Hot reads might have just been relegated as a needless complication. It was very frustrating on days where we couldn’t run away with it and the weather particularly messed with the deep ball accuracy.

You can make any statement you want, but over the last half decade nobody has been drafted and is better than Hurts has been winning big games. Williams at times, but mentally the dude cries in his mom's arms. Purdy is a system guy and wasn't a high pick. Daniels? No. The reality is you get someone as good or worse than Hurts. That doesn't mean he's QB for life, but they have a good roster. You build around him this offseason and see what happens and draft one in 28 if one lands in your lap. Get an edge, CB, etc.People here like to complain about him, which I get because he has flaws, but it's coming from a place of being spoiled and not realizing what we have. They have a talented roster that can be greatly improved this offseason addressing the OL. He's the best answer the next 1-2 years and you don't reach for a QB just for the hell of it. If there is someone in the 2nd, 3rd, etc go for it but use a high pick this year on the rest of the team.

1 hour ago1 hr 1 minute ago, Khani1 said:How does play action work?Well, the are very similar to hot routes, in that blocking and playcalling and scheme are completely irrelevant and the only factor is how fast a QB can throw it. For example, it really doesn't matter that there is an unblocked passrusher on half of our throws, Hurts should be able to turn his back to the defense and still sense where everyone is and throw accordingly. It's what Philip Rivers did, which is why he is a sure fire HOF and champion.

1 hour ago1 hr Credit to Cj stroud looks good so far this year. They are 1-4 but really some of that is injuries and their defense hasn’t been nearly as good as years past. He has 0 INTs so far this year (naturally he will now throw one). But he’s been regressing badly the past couple years and now looks solid to even good.
