I will seriously celebrate the day he's fired as a SB win

Lurie will just hire another bish boy with good financials knowledge and poor football evaluating skills.

Howie may actually be hard headed enough to go down with the Jalen Hurts ship.

Let's hope he is. We need something that's going to be this guys undoing.

We really need those 2/3 first rounders to restock the D and O-Line, but the way it's going we are going to have to spend a lot of capital on drafting/a trade for a QB. Howie has neglected the D for years and it will really start to show

Start to show??

You have GOT to be kidding me, they've been horrible for nearly a decade.

Quote

It starts at the top with owner Jeffrey Lurie, of course. He made the final call to hire Sirianni. Every major decision is made with his involvement in mind. Howie Roseman has survived more head coaching fires than any other current general manager partly because he has successfully managed up. And managing up, in this sense, is allowing for Lurie to be his football confidant. The owner can do so as he pleases. It’s his team. But his closest advisor is a sycophant. The co-dependent relationship at the top clearly influenced the Sirianni hire, in that it needed a coach who wouldn’t block Lurie or force Roseman out. Brandon Staley had many reasons for taking the Chargers job — Justin Herbert being maybe the most prominent — but Roseman was a significant reason why he canceled a scheduled interview, two NFL sources close to the situation said. Lurie certainly didn’t want to bring in a failure. He has done fairly well in identifying unproven coaches. But he may have finally crapped out on his first roll.

Fire Howie.

They don't have to fire him. Move him back to the basement. Let him negotiate contracts. Just don't let him have any roster decisions.

He isn't exactly lighting the world on fire there either

Not sure what he is worse at … talent evaluation or cap management.

Why would he still get to manage the cap when he sucks at that too?

Yeah nothing but moving money from the bank to the matteress….just paying players roster bonuses and guaranteed money to stretch out bad contracts.

im also convinced he influences players snap counts and involvement so that he can justify not having to pay them later. Like how he is holding sanders back so his value stays low and he can hopefully extend him cheaper

Let’s see which great coach comes to Philly to be hired here. Can’t wait to be proven wrong that no coach/coordinator worth his salt would want to coach here. The Eagles are more likely to hire the first female coach than actually hire any coach with a pedigree, because Lurie loves to be considered an innovator and headline maker.

Bad GM, meddlesome owner and no QB. That's a formula for attracting top tier coaches alright lol. Hey let's get Coach O from LSU! Lmao

"Sources close to the situation" said that Doug left us in a pretty big mess by waiting so long to resign. There's no way Sirianni would have been the coach if we'd had a head start.

But whatever. He looks small and has a high-pitched voice, so I'm sure it's all Howie's fault.

Doug was fired, because he said he wanted to run it back again. They Eagles let Doug go. Sirianni is here, because he was willing to do what Doug wouldn’t anymore. Be the punching bag and yesman for Lurie and Howie.

The roster is a total mess filled with bad contracts and bad young players. On top of that the coach has no say over the 53 man roster. No one would ever want to coach here and be forced to deal with Howie’s mess.

Exactly. Doug is gonna be head coach again next year somewhere.

By far the dumbest thing Lurie has done was not firing Howie last year when we should have hit reset on the whole damn thing.

Funny how much Doug was hated here this time last year, and now we miss him.
