Don’t put that evil on us.

Is there anyone left besides him and Newman? I’d think we need at least some kind of 3rd for camp and then some scrub for 4th

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I fell bad for Trey Smith, teams must have taken them off their boards due to his condition.

Hell take him now

yeboah is also good

They put him in the slot as well and they said he could play there more in the pros. Could be a poor mans Curtis Samuel type player

hes a good pass catcher, but they announced him as an RB. Thats the part of the depth chart he will compete in to try to make the team. Tough spot to be in.

first specialist taken here? a long snapper? Or have any kickers or punters gone yet?

Don’t know. Don’t really care. Wasted picks IMO.

Someone took a kicker in round 4. Forget who.

One more pick until we pass on Tay Gowan again.

Long Snapper has to be the cushiest job in America. Geez.

Is this the pick the Eagles draft a Punter?  Go on, do it!

Lol. Jinxed it.

We clearly didn't want Gowan.

Damn Cards

We had a zillion chances to draft Gowan, let it go.

Gowan Gowan... Gone.

Way too early Eagles' draft grade assessment:

Round 1 - DaVonta Davis ( ) - Can't be overly upset.  The Bears' deal might have been better in the long run, but adding Smith should help make the offense a much better experience to watch on a weekly basis.

Round 2 - Landon Dickerson - This is where Howie rolled the dice a little more than I would have preferred.  Not a fan of adding a guy with the laundry list of injuries to a position group with its own laundry list of injured players.  Other, safer, options were available... perhaps even a CB, S, or LB.   Can't argue against the talent of Dickerson, but the risk is significant.

Round 3 - Milton Williams - Disregard the video.  Is a moment of emotions, in the heat of the process.   Likely a player was lost off the board due to the trade back.  But, Williams is a guy that we hope can become a player.  Athletic freak... with T-rex arms.

Round 4 - Zech McPhearson - A CB!  Has good bloodlines.  He'll have every opportunity to get on the field.  Nothing (and no one) stands in his way.

Round 5 - Kenneth Gainwell - Great value pick.  Immediate impact as the 3rd down back with a chance to be more.

Round 6a - Marlon Tuipulotu - Strong, likely an injured guy which is why he fell.  Rotational DT?  He has a chance in that role.  He has some competition.

Round 6b - Tarron Jackson - DE.  Lottery ticket.  Maybe he can develop into something.

Round 6c - TBD

Round 6d/Round 7 - 5th rounder in 2022 - good value move, but they will need to turn that value into talent for it to matter.

Round 7 - TBD

Regardless of what the last two picks are, this isn't a bad draft.  It is clearly about the future.  That's good.  Smith is about the present.  This will help us evaluate Hurts.  The rest?  Dickerson may not see the field this year, possibly due to his injury, possibly due to the fact that the team is set at OL for 2022.  Williams might have a chance to make an impact in a limited role.  McPhearson will have a chance to earn a starting spot.  Gainwell could get a significant number of snaps.  So, this is almost exclusively about 2023 and beyond, which is fine.  But, I don't see this as a draft that added much in the way of 'foundational' pieces to build around.  Dickerson could be one of those pieces, but the issue is the giant question mark circling him about health.  Maybe a redshirt year for him would be a good thing for the long term.

Bash away.

It's not a bad draft but it's hardly anything to get excited about in terms that says THIS is the draft that helps us rebuild.  I came in to the weekend with high expectations.  This draft and 2022 are 2 drafts that are supposed to build the next core of the Philadelphia Eagles.  We are winding down and it just feels like every other Eagles draft.

I just posted that the Steelers take players that are a given for their team.  There is a 100% Steelers way of drafting.  You know the Cowboys are going to get guys with flaws but also elite players.  The Jabril Cox pick frustrates the hell out of me.  The Eagles proved their process is the same.  Take chances in the 2nd and 3rd and load up on the backend hoping to find lower end value.  Howie wants to find his starters in round 5-7 rather than 2-4.  It's a flawed process and why our roster is by far the weakest in the NFCE.

If it wasn't 100% clear that Howie runs the draft and it doesn't matter who the coach is, this year proved it.  I don't see any picks that tell me Sirani stuck his nose out for a player.

Another poster said I'm too negative but I think I'm realistic in looking at this team.  We have the same guy running the same show and nothing is changing.

I hope Smith continues doing what he did at Bama and Dickerson is the C for the next 10 years.  How can you not like that guy?  The injuries though my goodness.  Williams is fun to dream about having an Aaron Donald light.  Gainwell and Jackson are very solid pickups.

Two other things that stick out like sore thumbs to me:

First, I HATE trading with Dallas.  We gave them our 4th last year which turned in to their starting center and 84 this year at the very least gave them a solid rotational DE.  We helped the Cowboys get better.  That doesn't sit well with me.

The Ertz debacle.  We went from hoping to get a 2nd from him during the season to maybe he can be used to move up in round 4 to not trading him at all during the draft.  Either they convinced him to want to be here and are keeping him for 2021 or it's a total error in judgement and Howie overplayed his cards with an all-time Eagles great.

All in all it's probably a B- draft.  Hardly the franchise building draft I think many of us were hoping for.

Agreed.  Nothing really screams 'foundational'.   Next year with 3 1st round picks... they will need to get foundation pieces.

ESPN showing we have consecutive picks. Didnt think so...
