They’ll get over it, but if you go with "where there’s smoke there’s fire”, bringing Wentz back may irritate the payers more than Duce leaving.

Eh, I don't think so.  When you have a guy like Fletcher Cox backing him I think it will be just fine.  The media love to play up the guys liking one player more than another so they can create a faux drama or as ESP claims, content to write about.

Whoever the QB is, the team will support him.  If Carson gets anywhere near back to 2017 form, all of these stories of which QB players like better are going to seem silly.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Yeah I'm not gonna pretend to know much about these position coaches.  I just get a bit wary when a guy comes in and just brings all of his buddies from one organization cause that's all they know.  It's one of the selling points about Sirianni that I actually buy into a bit.   We shall see.

Yeah, I can’t say I know much either. Just basing it off the amount of times he was fired. He keeps getting hired in the SEC so he’s doing something right.

Agreed.   Still to get him on a retainer to work with our QBs every year - minimum.

Tom House is the QB guru for a few NFL Qb's...he is "the" guy...Wentz should already be working with him...

Does this mean Siri has been able to hire his own coaches?   Seems like it.

Gannon as DC is definitely a Sirianni guy.  Steichen as OC would certainly be as well.

Didn't he work with one of them before the SB year? I don't know if the injuries and COVID kept him from working with him the last few, but he has regressed even mechanically since then.

Reading Twitter comments about Tracy Rocker is pretty funny. Guy doesn't hang around jobs very long. Dude's been at Auburn for like a month lol

I am sure that the FO "braintrust" went over Sirianni's plans for building a new staff in his interviews...and liked it...

Well, since Tom is in his 70s, it's very possible that a backup plan might be needed.

Is he fired, or is he pushed out when a coaching staff turns over?

So far the head coach and DC are relatively young, which I see as a good thing.  If Steichen is hired as OC that continues that trend.

A few have mentioned Mike McCoy as QB coach, which would be somewhat logical.  Sirianni also has worked with Todd Haley — that would certainly dispel the "coddling Carson” narrative

According to Jeff we have at least 4 more GM candidates in the building so we can brush it off as one less cook in the kitchen, lol.

Lol I wonder if he'll end up saying he regrets basically saying GM factory like Howie said he regretted QB factory

Well if that's the case then my interest level in him just went down.  Had he been there for a few years then that would have been something.  We'll see.

He was there for a while, then bounced to other spots, and then agreed to rejoin them this year.

He was the DL coach when they won the BCS in 2011, when he was also the coach for Nick Fairley.

No he’s just out of touch with the blog. If you listen (I know no one in the blog does) to Philly sports radio there where plenty of people upset Duce didn’t get the job.

An effective run game is great. Running for the sake of running is not.

There's a reason for the wings on the helmet, but even the best air games need a back who can work RZ, Short yardage and goal line.  Sanders isn't who I want trying to move sticks.  If said back can block and catch at least a bit.....all the better.  We dumpster dive for RB under Rosey for the most part, so I'm keeping a Buck-eye on Teague if he clears 7 rounds.  Love to pair him with Sanders in a more honest attack.

People can be upset that's fine.  Why the Philly media can't let this go is beyond me.  Duce didn't didn't deserve the job and he didn't get the job.  In professional sports, players and coaches move on every year.  Duce was a part of this franchise and now he isn't.  I hope they don't treat this like they did Malcolm Jenkins leaving and not letting it go.

I think Duce was a better player for the Eagles than he was a coach.  His RB rotations were not good.  Anyone arguing that he did a great job managing the RB is just blinded by their Midnight Green shaded glasses.  Yes, players liked playing for him and that's all good and well but that doesn't mean he would make a great HC.

I hate getting into this conversation cause some take it personal in here but I’m all honesty Sirianni isn’t any more qualified then Duce is.

The reason I think they choose Sirianni is because Duce is a strong personality who would held the FO accountable and Sirianni is more of a company hire.

I don't know either but he was an OC, whereas Duce wasn't.  I also think Duce has been in the building far too long and they are trying to get away from the AR tree, which IMO is a very smart move to get this team moving in a fresh, new direction.

Time will tell.  I've said it a few times already in the past week but I'd love to see Duce head down to the college ranks as an OC to get some experience calling plays and such.  From an X's and 0's standpoint, he's proven nothing in the NFL.  Guys like him and that's it.

Yes Sirianni was an OC but he never called plays at any level. All these Offense guys are I. The room when the play designs and meetings go on. He learned just as much as Sirianni has. Plus Duce was here under the best in Reid and Reich and Doug so IMO he was just as qualified.
