Not mentioned in the article, is the discovery of wildlife farms in an area called Enshi which is in close proximity to horseshoe bat caves. The animals being bred and farmed reportedly include some the top suspects for the intermediary host, including civets, raccoon dogs, and badgers. The existence of these farms was covered up in Dec '19 and nobody knew about them until recently. The wapo just did an article on it if you want more detail.

Almost as if the cost is irrelevant, just efficacy.
